RE: F1 tunnel help !!!!!!!!!
You have an extremely rare AMPS International Hobbies tunnel from the mid 80's. Pic below is one I had that was sold a year ago. [image]http://home.earthlink.net/~ob_nut3/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/a2.jpg[/image]

Empty. Best check to see if you paint is nitro proof.. With the urethane, it might be ok.

RE: Tunnel hull plans
Tunnel has the motor hanging off the back end, with full length spoons. Hydros has the motor midsection with only 1/3 +/- of the forward section being a "tunnel".. http://www.impba.net/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=67&Itemid=72

RE: Equi tuned pipe
Bob Kensill now owns and produces the Equi pipe. The most used pipe for 20's are from HTB, the Silver Bullet line. For the most part, ET's have not been used in many years. The development of the carbs have made ET's like the doo-doo bird.. The hot ticket for 20 tunnels are: Nova Rossi conversions mounted on either an OS or Lawless lower. For stock, the OS will out run a K&B anyday if set up properly. Mod 20's are hitting high 50's to low 60's.. Remember, the fast boat does not always win.

RE: okay i dont use rc boats but was just curious about this
Know the questions weren't directed towards me, but here is an old AMPS T4 I once owned that has the exhaust coming out towards the prop.. In all my years of doing RC (started before the AE RC10 came out!), don't recall any other boat with the exhaust "in" the water. RE: okay i dont use rc boats but was just curious about this
Few items come to mind.. The pipe being closer to the water will help reduce the DB level. Thus helping us keep the ponds we can run in. Also, as with cars / trucks, you want the CG as low as possible. High CG will tend to allow the boat to roll over, ending up-side down.. Prop does no good when it's out of the water!

RE: Well cooling problem solved
I ordered a Deuce from TH last week. Got a prop for the boat and three rolls of tape. Had to keep this low or hear the wife complain. [:@] Any way, instead of three rolls of tape, I got three props for an electric plane.. Go figure, don't even look the same. I called TH right up, they would send out the tape and I get to keep the props. Whatever, don't even have a plane. Think they would look a little odd sitting on the back of the Deuce. [:D] The tape showed up two days later.. Granted I live just a state away from TH. Thought it was good service of them to work so quickly.

Since it's not a "tuned" pipe, anywhere but "A" should work.

RE: AMPS hulls & outboards pics
As stated, one never knows how the seller will list the item. Take a look at these categories for a start. * Toys & Hobbies > * Radio Control & Control Line > * Radio Control Vehicles > * Boats & Watercraft * Toys & Hobbies > * Radio Control & Control Line > * RC Engines, Parts & Accs > * Boats & Watercraft

RE: AMPS hulls & outboards pics
You need to go into the R/C boat section and just look. One never knows what it will be listed by. Since I knew that the tunnel I sold was an "AMPS", it was listed as such. The price matched the rareness of the boat/motor. Some don't know what they have and listed it as "large tunnel".. You just need to look at every item that is being sold to see what is selling.

RE: AMPS hulls & outboards pics
Zaca, To give you a feel on the prices of these rare items, here are two AMPS products that I sold to members on RCU. First to go was the yellow tunnel, sold on Ebay for a "buy now" of $1500.00.. [image]http://home.earthlink.net/~ob_nut3/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/a2.jpg[/image] Next, the rare T4, sold privately here on RCU for $750.. [image]http://home.earthlink.net/~ob_nut3/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/a1.jpg[/image] Hated selling these, but needed the $$.. I know the owners will appreciate these two rare AMPS products.

RE: I need advise on servo horn please
I've learned the hard way, went back to the factory supplied arms. Why? Better to break the servo horns then strip out the gears.. Kinda want the weak link to the easiest / cheapest to fix and repair. Do note that 99.9 % of my boats are tunnels.. Performing flips at speed looks neat and all, but it's a hard impact on everything with the motor hanging out the backside.

RE: Dumas Hot Shot Sprint 3.5 Tunnel Hull Build
My last wood Sprint build was done WOF style. Once the main frame has been glued up, glue in foam within all the open spaces: (spoons and center section). Sand down the foam and then start to lay down the sheeting. For gluing the foam to wood / wood to foam, use Gorilla glue. Stuff will "foam" up and fill in all the gaps. The plus side to this is that the harden glue is easy to sand, unlike epoxy. This process will speed up the build since all those 1/4" stringers won't need to be glued in.

RE: K&B fuel needle setting!
3 1/2 to 4 turns out on the older K&B black carbs. Seen where a SS needed to be 4 1/2 turns out. K&B needles are not perfect. That is why I use a flow meter to determine the best setting for the motor. I've seen where turning the needle out, it leaned up.
