RE: LIPO's for receiver???
I have no way to read the current during flight. Yes these packs just power radio and servos. The voltage is being taken off of one of the empty channels on the eq-10. This is after one flight on a fresh charge. Whats resting voltage? 10 min. flight I flew it four flights and charged each battery took 1100ma Thanks,Vann

LIPO's for receiver???
Gentlemen,I'm running 2 3300 45-90c lipo's with smart fly, unregulated to servos,42% plane w/ 8 JR 8911HV Servos .anyway I notice on telemetry that my voltage moves back and forth from 7.0 -7.4 volts when doing Rolling Harriers and such...I would think with that high a c rating the voltage shouldn't fluctuate that much?Rec. voltage stays constant at 5.3v

RE: Jet crash at the Nall ?
I noticed a lot of people flying little park flyers all over camping areas and such, even though radios were supposed to be off unless at flight station. Wonder if this might have some bearing?[&o]

RE: Cylinder temps?
Gentlemen, thanks for the info.I had a 170 got hot and cut off,Iguess it got too lean, the plug was grey,I was just trying to find a method to make sure engine was tuned correctly. Thanks,Vann

RE: Cylinder temps?
So with on board temp sensors, how can you determine high temp's are baffle related or tune related...lean...Thanks,Vann

RE: Cylinder temps?
ORIGINAL: Tired Old Man Good numbers although I prefer relating 150c to provide a small safety buffer for users. 85c is a mimimum operating temp before performing carb adjustments.
Why 85 c before carb adj?Me not understand.I need engine tuning for dummies i guess![:D]

RE: Cylinder temps?
ORIGINAL: pe reivers Place your temp sensor against the cylinder wall on the topmost cooling rib in the airflow shade (second best). Better still, use the spark plug washer as sensor. Good operating temperatures will range from 120C to 160C peak. Above that, and be weary of engine damage due to lack of cooling. You will need a sample and hold system like the Venom temp gauge, so you can check real life peak temps. Checks after landing are useless. Badly baffled engines will show surprisingly low temperatures after landing when convection air will cool the engine, while well baffles engines will show higher temp's due to heat soak without airflow. So do not let these after landing measurements fool you into thinking your cooling is OK
Sir,thank you for the info, its very interesting to me.I have a couple of the mip tg-3 testers coming and wanted to experiment a bit.So I figure do some reg.flying, land and check/reset,maybe some 3d,land recheck, long verticals ect.....How could you determine weather a baffle problem or a lean condition/rich condition?Or can it be used to check tuning? Thanks,Vann [:D]

Cylinder temps?
Gentlemen, what would optimal cyl. temps be while flying on say a DA 150/170 min. Max?I guess the sensors should be on head? Thanks,Vann[:D]

Mike thanks,so if i I set them to10%,and one starts burning up,the circuit power will only be reduced 10%?Or enough to protect batteries and stuff?[8|] Vann

RE: overload protection
What would you set yours to on 40% bird??It seems reducing power only 1% would not provide much protection,if any.Or am I thinking about this wrong? Thanks for the help. Vann[:-]

overload protection
Gentlemen,I'm confused as to setting the % on the overload protection feature. If I set to 1% does that mean you only get one% protection.I want the protection with out losing servo torque....Signed confused,Thanks,Vann[:D]
