RE: crrc 26 help needed
You can go to engine site and look at replacement parts for the engine, it's the plastic piece that's between the carbureator and the head. The caubretator attaches to the reed valve

Bowman ring question
Guys I bought a Bowman ring for my RCGF 26. The engine comes factory with two rings. When I put the Bowman ring in, am I supposed to remove the second ring in the engine or just replace the top ring?

RE: crrc 26 help needed
I just bought a Bowman Ring formy RCGF 26. When Mr Bowman sent the ring to me he also inculded a note that said the Reed Valve in these Chinese engines and he did say all of them. Sometime comes with mold flashing that needs clean up.. You remove the plastic reed valve and you can see where the plastic mold marks need sanded to achieve a good seal. It doesn't happen on all of them, but a good idea to check them all, it does happen to often and it lets them suck air between the gasket and the reed valve

RE: Used AutoCad
I DID forget, there IS a book out that you can buy over the counter that will help you learn to use autocad. I honestly am not trying to be a smart alec when I tell you the name of it and sometimes you can find it on ebay too it's called AUTOCAD FOR IDIOTS. Honestly that's what it's called. It's good enough to help some one get started

RE: Used AutoCad
Hey Gang I own a business that uses several versions of CAD. Autocad, cadworx and the newest autoplant 3d are the most used here. What I am about to tell you will not do you any good if you don't know how to use the controls. You can get a 30 day trial of autocad free from the autocad site. If you know nothing about autocad and want to try it. Just google commands for it such as "Autocad draw a circle." As far a "Tutorials" there are none sponsored by autocad oline, most businesses that sell it offer a course that costs about $1000.00 for 3 days or you can take a beginners course in Jr college for a half semester and get a start at it. If you want to be really good with autocad, take advanced course later then work with it for a year or so, then you will be pretty fair with it. There are a ton of things to learn about it to use it correctly. Usually if you keep an eye out for it, from time to time you can find an unlicenced version of it on ebay pretty cheaply, but beware, the 64 bit version will not work on a 32 bit puter and vice versa. Still if you find one, the more useful item to find will be a book on how to use the program, those will be much harder to find and will sell for by far more than the programl. Maybe if you know a person that has taken it borrow thiers. It usually cost over a thousand dollars to get one of these books because you have to sign up for a class to get one.

RE: Where Have All The Kits Gone ?
Thanks for this post, I am just getting back into flying RC's after 20 years out. I was almost nauseated by the ARFS and RTF's (I really mean no offence) but I was a builder before. I have heard SKYSHARK was out of business, they had one I really wanted to get back into the hobby with. Curtiss Jenny 60". Well now I have a little hope again after seeing all these kit cutters listed. Many people don't have the time to build them, I am retired and would really enjoy it if I found the right kits.

Dope cover question
Hey guys, I am 60 yrs old, been flying RC planes for 20 years or better and I have never used the dope covering. PATS CUSTOM MODELS has a Curtiss Jenny 60" short kit I'd like to build and use fabric or paper covering. My question is, any recomendations of covering and the dope to use, brands types ect? Also what do you use to attach the covering to the wood? Can dope be sprayed on with an airbrush?

Signal 82 Aircraft impacted residence
That's what I heard over the police radio that day, Signal 82 aircraft impacted residence. I was riding along with a police officer as a city official when the call came in. The officer turned on his overhead lights and siren and made his way to the residence. We could hear radio traffic about FAA, ambulances, fire trucks and so on responding. I realized as the address came across the radio, it was a house that I had been for dinner a few times, It was the residence of a state represenative. The officer I was with rolled up to the house first and there was no visable damage, the fire trucks were rolling up as we stopped. They ran to the houswe of which the represenatives wife was waiting at the front door, she took the officer into the back yard and showed him a gapping hole in her roof where the wings a fuselage of an RC airplane was resting, the engine had gone through her roof. The officer spoke through his radios to HQ and told them to cance all emergency responders. Though by that time most were there. A young man of about 20 years old approached the back fence from outside and said that was his plane and he was sure sorry, he explained that he had AMA insurance and the insurance would take care of the damage. The flying field was about 300 yards from her house and we lost the field at that location shortly after But, you don't keep RC pilots down, we had another field within a month.

NEED PLANS?
Hey Gang A few days ago I saw a post here, someone asking for GP Super Sportster 120 plans. There is a website for RCM, they sell so many plans for discontinued airplanes it's amazing to just set and look at the kit plans they have. Thinking about building a Super Sportster 120 myself. I just thought maybe some builders are still out there and might not know about the link

BUYING USED GASOLINE ENGINES
Hey Gang I am just getting back into flying and have no expierence with gasoline engines, a member of the club I am joing wants to sell me a used CRRC engine, I am not sure I want it. My question is, what would I need to check besides the compression on the engine to see what kind of shape it's in?

RE: What size of RC planes do you like?
First I have to say, everyone likes the scales of planes they fly for different reasons so the scales or types they fly is better for them. Personally I have been building all types of models since 1960. I like the giant scale because of the deatil you can put on them ( I am just getting back into RC planes after being out of them for 20 years) The reason is, I want to build a Giant scale JU-87 Stuka and super detail it., then fly it at contests. Right now I am building the 6ft Telemaster to get oreinted flying rc's again before I jump into the big expensive and harder to fly airplanes. What ever scale you like is the best for you, I have flown Micros inside my warehouse (Let's see a 40 sized airplane do that, well ok maybe a well expierenced pilot might sweat it). At any rate the young man didn't ask which scale is BEST he asked what scale you liked best and why. I like to fly the 40-60 sized just for fun and I like to build giant to see how well I can detail them, I have flown micro's and the are cool. The important thing is the young fella is having good clean fun.

RCGF 33 questions
Hi gang I an new here, my first post. I am getting back into flying RC's after quitting 20 years ago. I have never had a gasoline engine on one and I am considering buying a RCGF 33 for the new 82 in wing span Super Sporster ARF. (BTW) I am starting back with a Telemaster first) . What I wondering is I am thinking about buying the cannister muffler and just using the straight pipe for exaust with out the muffler. Would this hurt the engine? Also high octane racing gasoline is readily available to me leaded and unleaded, wouldn't it be better for the engine if I use that?
