RE: New Heli
Maybe the motor is spinning backwards or the blades are on upside down. Either one of these conditions would cause this.

RE: WK-2801 with CB180Z
Only guessing but the 2801 is an 8 ch tx. The rx in the 180z is a 4 ch. You are probably wanting the rx (and the helicopter) to do more than is possible. To get the full use of this tx you will probably have to go to a 6 ch helicopter.

One reason is that it is Chinese New Year. The dry spell happens about this time every year, but it seems to be lasting longer the last year or two.

RE: need a bit of help....
my guess is you need a new tail motor. When they start wearing down you get a slow speed. They are fairly cheap... around $10 plus shipping
ORIGINAL: Pyrotechnic The tail rotor is spinning, jut not fast enough. Even with the trim set to the max. I'm Gunna play with it a bit tonight and see if I can figure something out.
RE: need a bit of help....
Just a guess, but check to see if the tail motor is spinning the tail blades. If the tail rotor can't compensate for the torque of the main rotor the heli will spin counter clockwise... you may need to purchase and install a new tail motor. Good luck!

RE: Thanks To Those Who Help Here, I Need Help
Start with these links... pleanty of info here http://www.rchelisite.com/how_do_rc_helicopters_work.php http://www.rchelicopterfun.com/rc-helicopter-controls.html http://www.swashplate.co.uk/ehbg-v18/ehbg_index.html When you finish absorbing all of this go to this link and follow the procedures IN ORDER http://www.dream-models.com/eco/flying-index.html If you want to, purchase a Simulator program such as Clearview , Phoenix, or Real flight, Above all practice, practice, practice. Oh and by the way... you will crash (alot) while learning, so when you purchase you next bird, get plenty of replacemment parts. A good heli to start with would be a 4 channel Fixed Pitch bird such as a Nine Eagles Solo pro, a Walkera CB 180D, or similar bird. These will fly outdoors in a small (4-5 MPH) breeze.

RE: SkyMaster Tour: need parts
I would try contacting the customer service to see if they can get parts for this model. http://www.rtfskymasters.com/contact-us/ I'm sure your wife meant well but one of the more important things about this hobby is the ability to obtain parts. As you already know... It's not IF you crash, it's WHEN, and you need to have a place to gets repair parts when yhen are needed. Hope you find the parts you need.

RE: Newbie wanting to get started!
For outdoors, the bigger the better... Also a 6 channel Collective pitch will perform better outdoors than a 4 channel fixed pitch. However 6 channels are harder to learn if you are a beginner, and expensive to repair when you crash (notice I said WHEN not IF). I like ClubHeli, HeliHeli, or Tower Hobbies. They treat the customer very good, and ship promptly. Whatever you decide to get, order at least one set of blades (both main rotor and tail rotor, an extra landing skid, a spare fly bar, and at least one extra battery.

RE: Newbie wanting to get started!
I would also vote for a 120SR in addition to the Solo Pro, as the 120SR is also a 45 degree fly bar set up. After you feel real confident with one of these you could progress to a larger 90 degree fly bar if you want.

RE: Newbie wanting to get started!
I have the mcx2, and it is good to get aquainted with the controls, but you will probably get bored with it real quick. I would probably go with a Nine Eagles Solo Pro. it is a 4 channel Fixed Pitch heli with a 45 degree fly bar. The fly bar angle makes it fairly stable compared to a 90 degree fly bab. you can fly it indoors, and if there is a slight breeze 3-5 mph, you can take it outside AFTER you get good indoors. Just my 2 cents. Good luck on whatever you choose.

RE: First Buy
I started out with an mcx2, and woukld recommend it for your next helicopter. it is easy to fly, and you can learn the controls well with it. If you progress with a 4 ch. vrs a 3 ch. you will learn more and can get better birds if you wish.

RE: Hirobo or trex for NOOB?
I guess I can agree with Mack, as long as you have a VERY experienced mentor to help you get a 6 channel heli set up properly, and teach you to fly it. If you go it alone you will find it to be a very costly and frustrating adventure. Good luck to you what ever yiu decide.

Neither one is for beginners... Go with a co-axial or fixed pitch 4 channel.

RE: proto max
You should have 2 sticks... The one on the left (as you are behind the transmitter) controls 2 things... 1) pushing the stick foward controls the speed of the motor. Moving the stick left or right moves the heli in the direction you choose. (think of pointing the nose the direction you want the heli to go). The stick on the right also controls 2 things,,, 1) moving this stick forward or back controls the forward or backward filght (it either points the nose up or down in flight). Moving the stick left or right controls the "tilt" of the heli. Moving this stick with a little "right" will help offset the tendancy of the heli to drift (or tilt) left during liftoff. Try practicing moving these sticks in each direction (with just enough power to allow the heli to move on the floor), and you can see what these sticks do. You really need to learn this before you will be able to fly one of these birds. Patience & lots of practice are requirements to flying one of these.

RE: proto max
You now have a fixed pitch bird. These always drift left at takeoff because of the torque of the motor. When you go to lift off give it a very small amount of right stick (on the right stick) to counter act the torque. Remember... a little stck goes a long way with these small birds. Also with a fixed pitch you need to constantly input stick control. It's like keeping a bicycle balanced when riding. Good luck!

RE: Need help diagnosing problem
Before you install a new servo, try to re-bind the heli. Refer to the manual for the proper procedure. If it doesn't respond to any input, it sounds like that may be your problem. Good Luck!

RE: Need help diagnosing problem
sounds like a servo with stripped gearsw. move the control sticks in each direction, listening for the noise to increase. Also, never fly more than 4 or 5 minutes at a time. If you let the battery run down completely, it is probably dead.
