RE: .
I have my u can do with a saito 100 in the front running 10% nitro 20% oil with a 15/4 prop the motor seems to be low on power. Does the motor need more nitro to be happier?

RE: Can a simulator truly teach you how to fly?
I flew my g5 simulator for about 3 months ordered a nitroplane's 60 size trainer. Flew the plane on my own and landed it with no instructor burned a gallon of fuel. Next trip out the the local flying field flew as a guest flew 2 times that day wind was at least 25 mph gusty flew and landed with no problems. Next trip to field no one around real gusty flew for about 30 min total doing touch and go's in crosswinds had a couple of not so good landings but no damage. Not many people would fly in that weather but If you do not learn to deal with it you will not get any better than to wait for Ideal conditions. I rigged a plane that was given to me by someone called the sig Kavilier. I have a supertiger 45 up front with a 10x6 prop this thing screams. I flew this plane for 3 days so far. I do not know any manuvers I was trying to make them up as I flew. All I can say is that The simulator has done a great job helping me develope my basic flying skills. Some of the club members asked me today(how long have you been flying). A buddy of mine is doing the exact same thing he is flying and landing with no problems also. There is no doubt it works. I was talking to one of the more experienced flyers at the field. He told me If you have confidence in yourself and your equipment do not worry about the wind. Go and fly the dam thing. If you do not do it you will never learn on how to deal with it. That day everyone was just standing around just talking. Me and the experienced guy were flying. After I got the plane in the air he just said man you got it I'm gonna fly mine. I have take what he said to heart.

RE: supertiger 61 running great
Just need to change one thing thing at a time. These are stubborn motors when new due to the tight fit. As they loosen up everything gets better. Before you know it the motor is idling perfectly and you will see a good throttle transtition.

RE: supertiger 61 running great
I ran the heck out of the supertiger .45 today It is running fantastic. I am flying a real old sig Kavilier with a 10x7 prop ran really nice. I changed it to a 10x6 and it turned on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Almost out of sight performance straight up. Very quick plane for me. The supertiger is a Italian version I got off of ebay. I think the Italian muffler revs better than the chinese version. I am a beginner flyer and just wheened myself off my highwing trainer this past Friday. I was getting so many comments this weekend on how this plane flew it makes want to build another one. I do not know hardly any manuvers I was trying to make things up as I flew and be carefull at the same time. I burned a Half a gallon of fuel today on the motor. Thanks Breck

RE: supertiger 61 running great
I am not running 20% nitro it's 10% nitro. I also bench ran the motor for a couple of tanks before I put it in the plane. My Issue was adjusting the Carb that everyone complains about. The motor is running great now. When I fist put the motor in the plane I did not adjust the low end on the carb. This was one of my problems. I took the carb off and adjusted to the instructions restarted the motor and fiddled with it for a few minutes and it was running great no more hesating and no dead stick landings. Plug looks great. I just put my new 45 supertiger in my sport plane and its running really good aslo. As for bench running I will run it for a tank thru it. I believe running the engine in actual conditions slightly 2 stroke rich.

RE: supertiger 61 running great
I am really happy with it. The motor is on a 60 size trainer. It's not hard to get the needles set. I just test ran my bran new super tiger .45 I bought off of Ebay. I set the low speed needle in the middle of the cat eye in the drawbar backed off of that setting about 1/4 of a turn. Then opened the high speed about 2.5 turns. Opened the throttle barrel about 1/3 and started right up. went to full throttle and set the motor to a 2 cycle setting. I chopped the throttle to a Idle and opened it back up to full again the motor hesitated some and killed. Richened up the low end and restarted. The motor Idles great and I can open it up and Idle down with very little hesitation. I will finish tuning after I get it broken in.

supertiger 61 running great
I finally have my supertiger 61 running great good transition from low to high speed. purrs like a kitten now. When the engine was new I had to run it slobering rich to keep it running. If I tried to get it to run 2 cycling it would quit cause me to dead stick it in. nothing but a fight to keep running. After the 2nd gallon the engine started to get easier to tune. I am running 10% nitro 20% oil. I flew about 5 flights today tried to lean the low speed just a little and the motor would stumble. Then I started to richen the low speed and found the sweet spot. Now I have a understanding how the carb works . I have found a really good plug I am using a O donnel red sport plug 5% 20% no Idle bar runs great and they are cheap $3.65 each. I get these from tower hobbies. I was doing touch and go's at the field and the motor transition was great.

RE: how to dry fuel from balsa?
You can try acetone this will get all the oil out but it might attack your paint or your covering.
