RE: s/m 1/6 f16 in my hot little hands!
Did you all tap the aluminum horn on the elevator with a 440? There isn't a whole lot of material around the hole once tapped. Am I concerned about nothing? [:D]

RE: RE:
Brian - Thanks for the response. You know I didn't realize that I have been doing the whole Gear switch thing backwards for so long. It just seemed logical to me. I've decided to simplify the mixing by "relearning" the normal way :) And, based on your comments I believe I've figured-out the mixing. I'm doing some fine-tuning now but it appears to be working! Thanks!

RE: ESM 50cc Corsair
Is the jury still out on the retracts and gear? Or, do they work? I've experienced what it's like to have a nice big warbird with unreliable gear and want to avoid that situation in the future. :)

"Over center" mixing JR 9303
Hi All - I'm looking for the best way to perform over-center mixing on my 9303. First let me describe what I'm trying to accomplish in this specific situation. I have a retract/brake combination valve controled by a single servo. When the gear is in the down position, I need to be able to move the servo at least 3mm to activate the brakes. I plan to mix this with down elevator so that I control the gear with the gear channel and mix down elevator to gear to move the rest of the 3mm to activate the brakes. Any suggestions on how best to do this? I've done this in past with 2 separate valves but never with a combination valve. Also, I like to push the gear switch away from me for gear down and pull towards me for gear up. However, when to activate the mixing using the gear switch the radio defaults to the reverse. So the problem I have is when the mix is activate , the gear is in the up position instead of the down. Is their a way to reverse the mix activation? This is really hard to explain...hopefully it makes sense to JR users. Thanks in adance.

Anyone using JR 821s in their sprint with P80 or similar power? I've got some lying around and just wondered if they were suitable. I haven't received my plane yet but getting ready for it to arrive. Thanks.

Anyone know if C-ARF plans to come-out with additional paint schemes? I like boring colour schemes and although I like the Blue Angel scheme I figure it would be hard to see in a blue sky. I liked they Thunderbird scheme on the old flash. Cheers

Where are the "shootouts"?
Let me provide a little background to this question. At one time I was really into cars and bikes and I loved the shootout articles in magazines (still do). I'm sure many of you know what I'm talking about. The magazine gets all the bikes/cars in a certain class and compares them on different aspects comfort, handling, speed blah blah. It seems like the shootout idea would be a great format for many jet articles. So many manufacturers are creating the "same" jet but many of us can't see them up close before making the decision. Buying based on general feedback can be very misleading and all the jet articles I've ever read avoid making any comparsions between manufacturers. It would be really convenient to have an article that compares their traits (ie. scale fidelity, weight, quality, handling, price etc). Some of the "traits" are subjective but some can be measured. For me, it would certainly make a purchasing decision much easier if these kits were compared directly by a knowledgeable jet group.

JR SPORT 126MG servo and spektrum receiver issue?
Anyone using the JR Sport 126 MB servo with a spektrum receivers and experiencing this: When I turn on the radio and then turn on the receiver, the servo's go to a full over position while the radio and the spektrum receiver do their handshake. Once the receiver lights-up, the servo go to the appropriate position. Any advice on how to solve this? I've tested it on a couple of receiver/battery/channel configurations and the behaviour is reproduceable. Thanks in advance.

Spektrum 9100/JR servos and unregulated A123
I was planning on using unregulated A123s in my next plane based on some of the information I've seen in different forums. However, after trying 2 cel A123s with Jr8411s I'm reconsidering regulators. The Jr8411s are jumping around when I connect them to unregulated A123s. Has anyone else experienced this? When I switch to a 4cell nicad pack, the servo behave as expected. Anyone running 8411s unregulated with A123 6.6volt packs? Is this voltage too high for JR8411s? Thanks!

RE: JR 12x range issues
Interesting thread. I thought some folks might be interested in the spektrum installation best practices link http://www.spektrumrc.com/Community/InstallationBestPractices.aspx You'll notice that they recommend putting clear tubing over the antennas which I believe was questioned earlier in this thread.

RE: TF Giant P-51 arf question
I didn't get a pilot in mine but I bought it awhile ago. I'm sure you'll get a lot of opinions regarding a good pilot figure. The ones I like the best are the elite forces pilots. I don't think they make them any longer but you can get them off ebay etc. They have some really nice full body WWII figures. They are 1/6 scale (12" tall) and seem to fit nicely into the P51. Here's an example of what I'm referring to: http://cgi.ebay.com/ELITE-FORCE-1-6-WW2-US-PILOT-FIGURE-DOC-PEARL-HARBOR_W0QQitemZ260242259832QQihZ016QQcategoryZ156438QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
