RE: Official DF-03 Ra Thread
I have the Yeah racing ones (for df-03ra). The movement in and out of the outdrive from the gearbox is just too great without the foams, this aint no buggy (as you all well know) and the suspension travel is not that great. I just find the foam plugs help keep eveything in its place without causing any restriction

RE: DIGGER!!
I originally used a 4000mah hard case 2s but found there was too much power with the motor i used. I went back to old school with a nimh pack (6 cell) and a 19 double motor that is much more managable.

RE: Kit or RTR
I prefer kits, i love the build but there are times when the vehicle is only available are a RTR (traxxas comes to mind). I collect tamiya for the build, mainly as they are so enjoyable to assemble but every now and then i want a car that is only available ready to go, leaving me no choice

I set mine up with a cheap 3600kv brushless system and 2s lipo[&:] Its now back on the bench and going old school. A silver can and 6 cell nimh pack will go in. These things are crazy and dont need much power

I use the turnigy 3600 2s pack, its the biggest i can fit in (so good choice) The rest of the stuff sounds about right too and "economical" to purchase. You should have lots of fun with it (i love mine)

RE: sensored vs sensorless brushless motors
Fine motor control goes to sensored controllers. No matter what the companies tell us, sensorless is a cheaper design and manufacture so it gets pushed harder BUT given the choice sensored wins hands down. Marketing pushes the sensorless design hard and it can be be made to work quite well but i have yet to find one that will start supersmooth and run slow and steady

RE: Official DF-03 Ra Thread
If/When word gets out that you can run one of these things on normal roads and paths without scrapping the body/chassis and its a huge amount of fun the popularity will increase. The ability to run a car (as opposed to a truggy/sc/buggy) out front is huge, thank goodness for tamiya taking care of regular rc bashers not just racers.

RE: Official DF-03 Ra Thread
After years of searching for "the" on road basher i finally took the plunge and purchased a df-03ra. This has to be the best road going machine on the market that does not require a billiard table smooth surface to run. I cant believe it took me this long to find one and have some real fun out on the street.
