RE: St. Louis area boaters
OK then, the Thunderboaters generation is gone…. Well, I go to a small lake with my electric. That is the beauty of it, it is quiet and doesn't bother others. If you want to run your electric, let me know….but unfortunately, I am on the completely opposite site of St. Louis.

RE: St. Louis area boaters
Two choices, Unger Lake or Frank Holten State Park in East St. Louis, IL. I have not heard anybody using Unger Lake, but as far as I know it is the only lake in the St. Louis county where RC boats are allowed. Holten used to be utilized by a club called St. Louis Thunderboaters. The club's website is down or moved. It feels that this hobby is dead in St. Louis but I might be wrong. John, I can bring my AquaCraft Super Vee 27, I don't have nitro.

RE: St. Louis area boaters
Hi, Is there anything going on in the St. Louis area? Any plans to utilize the approved Unger Lake for RC boats? It would be helpful if St. Louis Thunderboaters post when they are at the lake. Thanks! http://groups.google.com/group/missouriRCboats/

RE: Redcat 2.4GHz radio
Thanks! I see it...it is DX3E, One model memory with Rx that sells for about $55. That is expensive. Unless I am missing something but their DX2.0 for $15 more is a better deal. Futaba FHSS is even a better deal around the same price with 10 model memories.

RE: Redcat 2.4GHz radio
It dosn't have End Point Adjustments (EPA) but shows how inexpensive it is to make, market , distribute, and sell 2.46GHz TX/RX set! Is there a similar product with EPA or I am stuck with big and expensive brands?

RE: Where to Run Nitro Boats in or near StLouis Metro Area?
Do you have electric or nitro? I went there but did not want take a chance with only one boat. Retrieving would be impossible for me. I go to small lakes around instead. I can do that with a quiet electric. I am booked Saturday but may find some time on Sunday.

Thanks for the update! There is a flood warning as we speak. It will take some time to dry. Are there any electric enthusiasts in the area?

RE: Where to Run Nitro Boats in or near StLouis Metro Area?
This is a great news! I know of few local people with boats too and I point them to this forum. There are quite few boat communities in the area and this effort should be promoted within the groups and local hobby shops. I have already approached few of them and formed a new community of RC boaters to promote RC boats in St. Louis and Missouri. This effort will increase an interest in RC boating and will be beneficial for local economy on the long run.

RE: nitro boats in missouri
That sounds awesome! But what is the plan to get something going with PM? If you really want to get something going you need to go public and promote the hobby in your area. The best plan IMO is to use this thread here or a dedicated community like this one here: http://groups.google.com/group/missouriRCboats ;-)

Yep, I found that article too, drove there on one sunny weekend day and there were just fishermen. Being it about 40 minutes drive one way I felt disappointed. Hopefully the new community will fix up some holes.

Sure I did and I will add an information about them in the discussion forum so others can find them. They seems to do scale RC boats.

Missouri and St. Louis RC boating comunity
I have noticed a lack of information for Missouri RC boaters and so started these communities to help people get together and share their experience. I hope this will help promoting RC boating in Missouri. http://groups.google.com/group/MissouriRCboats/ http://groups.google.com/group/StLouisRcBoats

RE: Looking for St. Louis, Mo Boater's
I did not asking for any thread to be removed. This thread should be locked as it not serving its purpose, see the original OP's 1st and last post here in rcuniverse last year. He is long gone. And if not it is better to concentrate all local activity in one thread instead of being scattered. I know you want the best but we all need to stop double posting as it is confusing and completely unnecessary. Hence let's lock the thread. I am also not sure if it is a good idea to advertise our discussions outside of the group of people involved with the hobby.

RE: Where to Run Nitro Boats in or near StLouis Metro Area?
The problem with boating in St. Louis area is that there is no internet presence of such activity. It takes quite some skills to find some info and this thread. If there is a presence you get people buying boats and wanted them using it. Now I doubt any boats sell in St. Louis area. With new people you can put some pressure on KENT THEILING. A great place to start would be http://groups.google.com. We can have a new presence on internet and people using Google for example would find us with ease. What about http://groups.google.com/group/StLouisRCBoats or even http://groups.google.com/group/MissouriRCBoats ?

RE: Where to Run Nitro Boats in or near StLouis Metro Area?
I am not the expert but I wouldn't take my boat on such large lake with no backup boat to push it back to me. So far I have been lucky on small lakes with a fishing line. I do have a backup boat which I do not like to take with me. Now seeing the issues with gas/nitro boats I am glad I got electric. I do not cause much noise and there are plenty of small lakes that I can do 30-40MPH with it. Now I see why it is so dead in St. Louis area. Sure there is that lake in IL but that is about 30-40 minutes drive for me.
