RE: Extreme Flight RC Yak 54 - 74 inch!
I just got back from flying, and testing my new Vess props. Sorry no fish scail for thrust readings. Starting prop was the APC 18x4w: lots of power will hover just over 1/2 throttle with o/k pull out. Vess 18x6: not even unlimited vertical forget it.. Vess 18x8: will hover at 3/4 throttle will pull out but verry slow. The only thing I liked Vess was the looks. Went back to the APC.

RE: Extreme Flight RC Yak 54 - 74 inch!
I plan on replacing my O.S. 1.60 with the B46 as soon as possible. The 1.60 has good power but after about 10 gallons of 15% cool power I want better economy and more power.[:D]

Here is a pic. of my elevator bell crank system on my C.A. Extra 300l, sorry I don't have a better shot. I used a carbon fiber rod from the servo to the bell crank for a light and stiff setup.

RE: Peakmodel Extra 260 25%
I was thinking about the Brillelli 36gt I have read a lot of good things about them in the Extreme Flight threads. I have the Yak 54 74" but I put an O.S 1.60 on it, with the extra 260 I want to make the csange to gas.

RE: Extreme Flight RC Yak 54 - 74 inch!
A Saito 100 will not even be close to enough power for this plane. I am using the O.S. 1.60 and the power is outstanding. My Yak also pulls to the gear in knife edge flight I checked and re-checked everything and am thinking it's time to start mixing it out unless somebody out there has any other ideas.

RE: Extreme Flight RC Yak 54 - 74 inch!
If you have to drill through the bolt hole, use the pressure tap as a guide. I went through the back plate drilled and tsped it and locked it in with JB Weld. Than used a fine file to make everything smooth inside.

Did you use a pump or crank case presure to push the oil? I'm useing the crank case and an 8oz. tank. How long does the smoke oil last? Here is a pic . of my setup. It is the same setup as seen on RCDon.com.

RE: Extreme Flight RC Yak 54 - 74 inch!
I know this thread is about the yak and since I'm putting my O.S 1.60 in my E.F yak I want to ask all you running the 1.60. Do you have a problem with a flat spot in the throttle at midrange, just a couple clicks of the stick where nothing seems to happen? I'm running the 1.60 with a perry pump, 15% cool power, pits muffler, and APC 18x6w prop.

RE: Extreme Flight RC Yak 54 - 74 inch!
ORIGINAL: thomasf Has anyone tried to put a moki 180 in this plane? A friend of mine is willing to part with one with a bisson pittts muff for 125$. Are people with OS 160's comming out tail heavy? Because I think the moki is about 8oz heavier. Also, I has wondering if someone with a OS 160 can tell me what the measurment is from the engine mount surface is to the top of the head. I like the fact that you don't have to hack the cowl to resemble swiss cheese to mount an engine. The Brillelli combo is such a screamin deal that it has me Oh So confused as to what motor to put in the plane. some guidance from some "Gurus" will be much appreciated.
From the top of the beam to the head is 3.75". I ordered mine today it will be at my LHS next wedensday(I CAN'T WAIT)[:D]. I will be installing my O.S 1.60 with a smoke system as seen on www.rcdon.com.

RE: [b] New H-9 Twist 3D 60 !!
I flew me twist 60 today for the first time. It went together fast in about 8 hours from opening box to setting the throws. It flew very well. If you had the 40 and liked it you will like this one. The only thing is its not very strong at the back of the wing saddle. On a hard landing doing a harrier the landing gear came off and broke the fuselage. I have a saito 100 on it which is plenty of power and high tech 645s all the way around. For $135.00 it is well worth it.
