AEROXCRAFT Quad-670
The AEROXCRAFT QUAD-670 http://www.aeroxcraft.com/ was designed primarily for use with the DJI Wookong M, the Aeroxcraft Quad-670 has a dedicated place for all the major WKM components. Under the dome the controller plate has places for the Main Controller, IMU, PMU and for your radio RX. On the rear of the frame is a place to mount your DJI GPS/Compass unit, with the ability to fine tune it's direction. Under the Quad, on the rear battery plate there is a mounting bracket for the DJI LED unit, which solves the problem of seeing the unit while in flight. The motor mounts will take motors up to 35mm in diameter, including Axi 2814/22 and Park480 1020kv. Since many multirotor pilots have their own favorite flight control system, the Quad-670 will work just fine with any other suitable multirotor controller. The Quad-670 was designed to compliment the Aeroxcraft GoPro Gimbal. The GoPro Gimbal sits right out front allowing your GoPro HD, and the new HD HERO 2, to take great video footage without getting the Quad-670 in shot. The flight batteries are used to counter balance the weight of the camera allowing you to make sure the center of gravity is in the correct place. There is a gimbal for compact cameras in development that will also be fully compatible with the Quad-670 multirotor.

RE: AEROXCRAFT Quad-670
Good point and I was planning on adding a GoPro lens cover, myself. Just offhand, since the GoPro camera gimbal comes unassembled, I think that AeroXcraft decided to keep the cost reasonable and suggest the lens cover as an option. * GoPro lens replacement kit - photo from www.gopro.com

RE: Nitromodels PREDATOR RQ-1B
Teddy, I just looked at the Nitro site and the three Predators do have me confused, too! I tend to agree with you that the difference between the first two is just color, desert camo vs. green camo. Now, the $49.00 one sure looks just like my original green camo version and I cannot figure out why it is 25 bucks lower. Since they all are "out of stock," I would suggest that you contact Nitro to see if they are expecting a new shipment of any Predator models in the near future.

RE: DeNight Special 50 ARF by Hangar 9
Velezivan, I have used the Power 46 with my Toledo and the DeNight without any issues at all. For me, the speed of both planes is more than adequate. I have never put the radar gun on the DeNight, so I have no idea of the true WOT speed, but it is just fine for me. I would check out the specs on the Scorpion motors and compare the WEIGHT as I believe that if the more powerful Scorpion motor is more than 10% heavier than the Power 46.........you may very well need some extra weight in the tail.

RE: DeNight Special 50 ARF by Hangar 9
Moose, With the Power 46 and the 60a ESC, we experienced no problem with sufficient power. If you think that you need or want some additional power, give it a go, but I really can't see any need for it. The retro look and design of the DeNight is such that I can not recommend any additional weight in the nose using the Power 46. Actually with my set up, the tail was a little light on takeoff so we had to hold some up elevator. With a heavier motor, I think that the tail would lift too high and cause the prop to strike the ground on takeoff. Just a thought before you invest in a bigger heavier motor.

RE: AirShowRC VERTIGO Rebel
With a positive intent to add another perspective to the resolution of the issues that all of us have encountered with the Rebel, here is what I observed. Eventhough my camera (Canon 60D / 18mp / 18-270mm IS Auto focus lens) could not lock in a decent focus on the thin, sliver, rear profile of the Rebel against the green background of the far tree line, I did get an interesting look at the takeoff through the camera viewfinder. What I observed was as follows; - nice smooth acceleration down the runway - all flying surfaces looked to be in perfect trim position - adequate speed attained for rotation and nose wheel lifted - as speed increased, a slight up elevator was noticed and the Rebel lifted the main gear off the runway - the rotation attitude of the Rebel looked to be perfect with no more than the slight up elevator - suddenly the nose dropped as the Rebel gained speed - the up elevator correction for the dropping nose was not full up, in my view, and the Rebel just continued to nose in to the runway - once the nose suddenly dropped.....it was all over in just a few seconds and no amount of correction could have saved the Rebel - why the nose suddenly dropped (with all flying surfaces in the proper position for a perfect ROG) is the real problem to determine as it seems, to me, NOT to be a problem with the pilots. Note: if the video could be viewed in slow motion, from the time that my hat comes into frame till it goes out of frame is the time period that the problem ocurred. These are my observations and I leave the assessments up to all of you with the hope that some of this is helpfull. "Papa Power"

Carlos, The CA type hinges are installed by the builder (not by the factory) and I did not have any problem with the rudder, elevator or aileron surfaces as I have a habit of folding the CA hinges, and working them back and forth many times, before installing them. It looks like you have a bit of a re-build on your hands and like Kivisto said, please keep us informed of your progress by posting your repairs. I am sure that all of us will be interested in your re-build.

I have found that my iron with a teflon foot has no problems getting the wrinkles to tighten. I do not use it with a sock, but I don't know if you used a sock on yours. On some stubborn wrinkles, I do use an old hair blower on MED setting and just take it easy and make sure that you move the blower back and forth over the wrinkle. I hope this helps. [quote]ORIGINAL: thrawn150 got a stupid question, I am trying to take out the wrinkles in this planes stabilizer and not coming out. looks like it is just adhering to the balsa, but the bubbles remain. Paul, For sure, your TS is definitely a little different from the stock setup that I have on my electric powered one. Your Toledo has to be the best example of pure excellence that has ever been built! It is a real showpiece and you fly it like the Master that you are! With your personal mods and your power system, your TS does benefit from your spoileron set up. (Am I prejudiced??????? You better believe it and just to substantiate this fact, take a look at these photos of Paul's TS.) NOTE: Photo #1 & #2 - custom square pattern underwing for orientation in flight. Photo #3 - custom made rear wheel pant and lime green pin-striping. Photo #4 - re-designed battery tray inside fuselage rather than in the nose. Photo #5 - custom rear wheel pant Photo #6 - cowl grill vent for cooling of the ESC & battery Photo #7 - custom battery tray Photo #8 - access to battery via custom hinging of windshield Photo #9 - underwing custom pattern Photo #10 - pin-striping ("Fly First Class" is right, for sure with Paul's TS mods!) I did use some of the control rod hardware that came with the Toledo, but I used Dubro metal clevises for the alierons. When using the provided plastic clevis, you can see in the photo below that I put a small piece of standard fuel tubing over the ends to prevent the clevis from opening. Just a little added protection. [quote]ORIGINAL: kivisto Hello everyone. Have a TS also an old (new in box saito 80) as well as a 100 twin, possible to mount the twin?? RE: TOLEDO SPECIAL 40 ARF by Hangar 9
Flying5150, Having flown my TS many times, I really do not think that there is any need for flaperons. I fly on a grass field and my TS tales off beautifully and lands with absolutely no problems whatsoever! With the Hangar 9 recommended set up, I have plenty of power when needed and slowing down for a landing approach has never been an issue that I thought would require flaperons. I hope that this helps you with your build and I would be interested in seeing any photos of your build and Maiden flight. Videos, if possible, would also be appreciated. [quote]ORIGINAL: flyingt5150 Hi all, I am almost finished with my toledo special, and I am just wondering has anybody used flaperons on it. RE: Nitroplanes RQ11 Raven
Rynkan, With regard to your item list, I would suggest a motor that can produce from 600-800 watts and an ESC at about 60amps. A 3 to 4cell Li-Po with around 4000mAh would give you longer flight times. If you plan to set up your elevator & rudder with the pull-pull controls, you might want to get some more powerful servos than these 9g micro servos. Just follow this build thread for the basic assembly of your Raven and do not hesitate to ask questions. If there is a local Hobby Shop in your area or if there is a local flying field, you should try to hook up with them and ask for some assistance. I do not believe that you would be refused. Also, check out; http://www.nitroplanes.com/ and http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_index.asp and compare the shipping cost to Sweden. I hope this helps.
