RE: What Made You Quit Flying Helis
I never started flying helis. I think the price of a "crash kit" in comparison to the price of a new one scared me off years ago. That being said, it's your choice and your money. Spend it as you wish and have fun. papermache

Simcoa/ Simcoe kits?
Does anybody remember Simcoe (Simcoa?) kits? I'd never heard of them before one of their kits appeared on fleabay the opther day. The kit is a Fokker D-VII with a 6' span and looks to be a pretty detailed kit. The box, etc. looks like '70s-'80s vintage and the instruction booklet lists Goldendale, WA as the company base. Anybody have any info? Thanks in advance. papermache

CG for a Brooklyn Dodger
People, I'm just finishing up a 72" Brooklyn Dodger and should maiden it this weekend. Right now I've got it balanced on the spar, which is usually a good starting point for any CG search. Just wondering if anybody has a better idea. This is only my second old timer and I know that CGs can be in lots of different locations depending on the model. Thanks in advance. papermache

RE: Retractable monowheel for sailplane
skeeter, Hobbycity.com sells one. Not sure of the size, but I think it's the one they had in a 2.5m discus or ventus or something. So far everything I've ordered from them has been top-notch as far as quality. I think theirs is only about $14, but their shipping can kill you. papermache

This is a great subject. I'd like to see one of the British pushers, especially the RAF FE8. Either that or a good DH2. Other subjects on my list are the Sopwith Dolphin, Martinsyde Elephant, Roland Walfisch or Halberstadt CV. Abu was right about needing more 2-seaters. papermache

RE: se5a flair or dynaflite?
I'd still give a good consideration to Fun Aero. Their kit is laser cut, wood quality is very good and the instructions are decent. It's priced right between the Dynaflite and Flair (around $190), and for those who care about such things, it's all made right here in the U.S.A. papermache

RE: FluidX..96" Wingeron
Mtntop, Beautiful design! My only concern would be for the very thin fuselage section just forward of the fin. Wingerons create some extreme torsional forces, and I'd be worried about snapping off the tail. Of course, a lot of that would depend on what the fuse is made of. papermache

Nitroplanes Salto HB-1232
Fellow sailplane fanatics, Has anyone flown the 2.6m Salto HB-1232 available from Nitro Planes? They have an excellent price on it right now. I'd like to hear how it handles, especially on the slope. It looks great, but you know about some of these "sounds-too-good-to-be-true" offers. I'm a bit wary. Thanks in advance for the help. papermache

RE: Please help with Cub Purchase
Trax, Get the SIG 1/5 Cub. You won't be sorry. It's probably the best engineered kit presently in production. It's also one of the most scale looking of all the Cub kits and looks like it would be pretty easy to convert to an L4. It's an easy and pleasureable build. Good luck and have fun! papermache
