RE: Delro Emotion
Oh, I feel I could have got it in at about 10-8lbs to 10-10 lbs had I tried. I really didn't try to keep it light in the painting. It was almost scary light (for me) before paint and miscellaneous hardware.

In my E pattern plane I run the 758 on Rudder, the 761's on ele's, and I did run them on ailerons for the last few years, but now on ailerons I run the 746's. Chris

Delro Emotion
If I knew how to glass a balsa fuse like Hester's BM, or Hunt's Pentathalon I probably wouldn't have bought this. BUT, at the nats, I was fortunate enough to meet Chris Moon (in person), along with his beautiful helper, and decided the Emotion was the plane for me. The build is so straight forward it's silly. I honestly believe a novice could build this kit it's so easy. Chris, I can't thank you enough for this plane. I will continue to support you in my purchases as I believe in what you are doing for the US public. Thanks bro! Anyway, I could post pics of the build, but it's so easy, you do not need them. I am finally painting the fuse after completing the rest of the plane, and I am so stoked to finish it now that I am painting, that I am thinking of not going to my district championship contest! THIS KIT IS SO EASY TO BUILD!!!!!!!!!!!! Pics attached are with the PPG epoxy primer, white, and the insignia blue. 2 or more colors will finish the fuse in the next few days. I will continue the thread with more pics, and hopefully a video at some point. Thanks CM! Chris

RE: RE:
How's it going Ryan? Are you saying that they are built differently? In the layup? But use the same mold. QQ and Troy barely make weight with their glow Euphoria's. How could it be possible to have the same structure and make weight electric. They would have to be built differently. (Well, unless you run small batteries like several did at the nats.) They can come from the same molds, but be built lighter for electric. But that wouldn't allow it to be a glow model at that point or the structure would probably fail. C

RE: RE:
Glen, IMO, I don't think that a bipe can be made light enough for electric, but also be strong enough for glow. Possibly something by Mark Hunt, or Mike Hester, but not in the composite world. There needs to be two versions IMO, although I'm sure this isn't cost effective. It seems lately that builders are starting to go towards the trend though. Chris

RE: Himax 6330/F3A outer runner test data
I saw this at the Sacramento contest. Looked at his current usage after charging 3200-3300 mahsfor masters. I used 4000-4100 with my Hacker C50 14xl constantly all weekend. I Looked at his power. I am impressed. Luke, a suggestion for the manufacturer. The aluminumprop shaft looks to be the larger size of 12mm like the Axi. Have them shrink it down to 8mm like the aftermarket one that is available for the Axi. It saves more weight and it is much easier to ream out props. The 12mm isn't necessary. I ran the 8mm when I ran the Axi with no problems. Looked good. I am impressed!! Thanks for passing on this info! Chris

RE: Can you help a newbie?!
The C50 has a different power IMO. The A60 has a lot of speed. The C50 has some speed and torque IMO. If you are getting into pattern for the first time, my recommendation is to buy what has worked for lot's of people or you won't be happy and will not have a good time flying pattern. If you are making the investment, IMO, don't skimp on the motor. My list in order of what I would by is Hacker C50 13 or 14XL or a Pletty (Top of the list, either one, they are both awesome) Axi 5330 or 5325 Neu Hacker A60 (haven't seen the new F3A yet though) Good luck and hope you like flying pattern! RE: Valiant New JAS Plane
I thought the launch came quick. It was like, bam, Jason's new plane designed by Bryan, then the first batch was here. I personally was waiting to see how it did at the worlds with Jason at the sticks. Seeing as that didn't happen, I didn't order one. That, and I didn't like the Shulman scheme (no offense Jason). Was hoping to get a Hebert scheme (more my colors). Now, they are over a month out or I would probably order one anyway as I feel it will probably fly better than anything I have flown. . Looked into that today and found out there won't be any for a little while. Probably a blessing. I need to fly my E-motion first. chris

Cool. I'll try that Don! Thanks!!!!! Emotion, well, I ran out of Dark Red Monokote, and needless to say, the roll I got is no good. I gave up on it last night, and have no interest in it today. Didn't get my paint either. Not looking good for Hollister. May just judge. C

RE: Chargers
Jon C and I have connection issues quite frequently with ours. I thought it was just me, but it happens to Jon also. It's weird, I connect everything in the same order every time, sometimes it charges, sometimes it makes me reconnect. Sometimes it happens in the middle of the charge. I do like the charger though. Don't get me wrong. I would probably by another. When's that new TP coming out? Anyone know?

RE: Delro E-Motion kit
Thanks Steve! I can't hardly wait to fly it. Probably test fly it on Sunday if I can get everything done except the paint. Of course, I will have to redo the rudder pull pull when I paint, but I need a plane as I crashed the Abbra again. lol. Not sure I will attend the nats next year, the wife said it's the timeshare in Hawaii or the nats. I am putting up a fight that the nats is more fun, but not sure she's buying it. Heck, it is more fun though! My other thought is to skip next year, and attend the world and the nats the next in FAI. I may move to FAI next year, but only if I beat Frak this year at the district contest. lol I've got a long way to go, but I feel I have the right plane now. We'll see. You all E yet?????????????????????? You sure were flying good with it at the nats! C

Thanks Jon. I may swing by at the weekend and borrow that gun from you. Sounds much better than my gun. I did some reading on it. Mike, yes, huge upgrade from and Abbra. I'm looking forward to joining the big boy club. lol I'll keep the thread posted. John, they are super easy to build. You should by one, or two. I know I am getting another one for sure. Just trying to decide if I want to put a Pletty in it, and I think I do. C

RE: Delro E-Motion kit
Making progress finally. About to order the second kit as the first was sooooooooooooooo easy to build. Waiting on a roll of dark red covering and my PPG paint to show up. Hope to paint most of it on Sunday. I added an adjustable stab kit to mine. I like the ability to adjust it if I feel necessary. As it sits, with all the hardware (most still in packaging), all the servo's, and wire's, look's like it is 10lbs 7 ou. Plus paint, and monokote for the rudder ( I added all other hardware.). If I could paint light, I may add about 6 ou as this fuse is pretty big. Most could paint lighter, but I will probably shoot for something close to, but under 11 lbs in the long run. Don't want it any lighter. Plus I like an extra coat of clear so I can wet sand and hand polish it to a smooooooth gloss. We'll see. Very nice kit, and plane. Chris

RE: Monokote
Ed, I thought it was in Mike M's article for next month so I asked him about the Klass Kote. He didn't know about it. But it is in yours. I found it after I already ordered. The only problem I have with it is the dry time. It sounds good though. The paint isn't my issue. It's the monokote which I am no so unhappy with that I didn't finish the top of the other wing, tops of the stabs or rudder today. My wing that is fully covered, and the bottom of the other wing and stab, now look like my Element did after I took it out of the plastic. Trying to reheat it to shrink is giving it gas bubbles. I'm thinking of tearing it all off. Thanks!! Chris

RE: Monokote
The glutten for punishment that I am, I just decided to cover my new E-motion pattern plane in Monokote. What was I thinking? After posting my bad experiences before in this thread, I see that the monokote hasn't improved. All of the 4 new rolls won't stick. They were applied at the recommended heat setting, with the recommended iron. Each color stuck down good, and after 2 minutes they came loose in many areas. Not sure what to do now as I just bought $400 worth of PPG Paint from Radio South for the fuses. I may leave it on for this season, and paint the wings and stabs in the off season. Can't believe this stuff is still being sold. Even more, I can't believe I bought it again.. [;)] Shame on me.. lol
