O.S. 91 fx Bisson Pitts (Perry Pump)?
I bought a new O.S. 91 fx for my AeroWorks Extra 60-90. I also bought a Pitts style muffler from Bisson. I saw a few posts saying that one of the exhaust tubes on the muffler should be stopped up to improve performance...Is that correct? Why does it improve performance? How do I stop it up? Also, I don't plan to do 3D but I do like to go vertical...Is a Perry Pump a good idea? Are there any pictures of an install out there? Thanks Paully

Extra 260 .60 - .90 suggestions
So, I just bought one of these and I'm going to build it this weekend. I'm looking for engine suggestions. I have an OS .75 AX laying around...But, I'm not opposed to getting something different. Please let me know how your engine choices are working out. Paully

Mounting a 2.4 Ghz Faast Rx
I recently made the switch and got a Futaba 7C Faast 2.4. I need to mount 4 Rx units in the planes and I'm wondering what precautions/tips/tricks there are out there for these Rxs. I've heard foam/no foam. Also how do I keel the antennas straight, tape? Thanks, Paully

I have the Hobbico Ultra-Tote and I like the setup of being able to carry the fuel on the box...But it is just not big enough...I need something like 2 - 3 times the size with lots of drawers...What is everyone using? Pictures and links would be awesome, Thanks! Paully

RE: Glitching like crazy with TX power off
Uhhh... Sorry, but NONE of my other recievers ever does that...Not in my three cars or four other planes. And, I've never seen it before. It just seems unusual. Not just a little glitch, but a CRAZY full range of motion spastic freakshow.

Glitching like crazy with TX power off
I have a troublesome 168df Futaba 8 channel RX. It seems no matter what servo I plug in to any of the channels, the servo goes crazy if the RX power is on and the TX power is off. I have several other RXs on the same channel and none of them do that. It's not a locational problem, because it also does it at the field with no other radios on. I pulled it out of my plane because I also started to notice (although I am really sensetive to it probably) some small glitches under TX power too. Does this happen to others? What could it be besides a bad RX? I have tried different batteries, switches and servos. Even if I only plug one servo in (and try different channels) it does it. Thanks, Paully

Timer recommendations
My radio does not have a built in timer...However, I think I would benefit from having one...Does anyone have a recommendation for a standalone timer I could attach to my radio? Obviously something small. I've looked around a bit, but I thought if someone had one they could recommend, that would save me a whole lot of wasted purchases. Model number and link would be awesome, Thanks, Paully

TX pack charging rate?
I just bought a new TX pack. It's a Hydrimax Ultra1650 mAh 9.6V. It says to charge it at 150 mA for 16 - 20 hours...My standard chargers (I have 3 wall worts) don't go that high. The highest mA I have is 100. Can I charge longer at a lower rate and is there a standard calculation I can use to find out how long to charge this pack at rate X? Also I have several other wall worts. A few are 9V and various mA ranging from 200 - 500...and I have a 10V with 700 mA. Can or should I consider using one of these...What are the issues with charging at a lower or higher (within a half a volt) voltage. Thanks! Paully

RE: Moving up - plane suggestions
I went with the GP Extra 300 (it arrived today). I neglected to say I already have a Pulse XT 60 that I am putting a OS 91 4 stroke in (that arrived today too). But I think the Pulse will be really similar to the Tiger/4* that's why I don't count it.

Winter storage
I live around Chicago and we get fairly big temperature swings over the winter. I keep all my planes in the garage (attached). I have my batteries in the planes and they are set to charge for one hour a day with a timer and the wall wort chargers. I put after run oil in all the engines, but I am worried about the temperature fluctuations and the monokote. I'd rather not bring them inside, but if I have to I will. Any thoughts here...And please don't tell me to move somewhere warmer, I know that one already [;)] Paul

I just received notification that my Pulse XT 60 is on its way (it was backordered for a month). What engine should I put in there? I Have a OS .75 AX and an OS .61. I should have bought the AX not the LA
I have 5 O.S. engines and I am a big fan. But, I think I made a mistake. I have the .46AX ABL in a 4* and it is plenty of power for me. Recently I bought a Ultra Sport arf (40 size) on Ebay and bought a .46 LA to go in it. I figured I wasn't going to fly the plane that much so the LA would be fine. I think I made a mistake. The engine doesn't seem to have enough power for the plane I am using a 10 X 6 and there isn't a whole lot of pull on take off. My friend has an Ultra Sport with the AX and it flies fast with a 10 X 6! So, my questions are : 1. Is there really that much of a power difference between the two 2. Is 10 X 6 the right prop 3. Anyone wanna buy a LA? Thanks! Paul

RE: Is this rebuildable?
Well, it's an airplane again. And, I couldn't have done it without the AWESOME help of one of this forum's members, Robby. We worked on it for 12 hours this weekend and the pictures below show the beautiful results. I was really messing it up by over gluing everything. Rob showed me the right way to think about the process. He should teach a class or write a book. The reversing of color and striping was an idea we had that I think really turned out great. Let me know what you think.

Is this rebuildable?
I crashed my Tiger 60 yesterday. Actually, I wasn't flying it, but I made a rookie mistake. I put down the antenna and shut off my transmitter when my plane landed. It went in the grass and I was upwind so I didn't hear the engine running. When I realized it, I walked back, turned on the TX and (because the antenna was still down) it took off like crazy and smashed nose first into the ground. This is the only damage. I have never repaired a plane but everyone is telling me it is easy. I'll be taking this opportunity to convert it to a taildragger as well.

Tiger 60 to taildragger?

How should I load my car?
My Hobbistar60 and 4* 40 fit nicely in my 4runner. I put the seats down and they go side by side with the wings (smooth sides facing each other) in the passenger seat. Well now that I got the Tiger 60, I'm all out of sorts. The tricycle gear is okay, but with the wing off the tricycle goes to a unicycle and it's a bit of a pain to secure upright. So, I'm wondering what sort of rigging am I going to have to construct to get this to the field. I'm resigned to taking only two planes, but there has to be a system for this Tiger. Thanks Paul

Prop size question
Good morning, I finished my Tiger 60 arf this weekend and I am looking to do a first flight soon. Here is my question though...On more than a few recommendations, I decided to put a OS 75 in it. Now I am wondering what prop I should use. The plane has tricycle gear and I am a bit worried about prop strikes if I use a 14 or 15. Anyway, what should I go with? Thanks, Paul

ARF Firewall crooked?
I am nearly done with my new Tiger 60 arf. I noticed the firewall is not square to the rest of the plane and It looks to be on purpose. The hatch covering the fuel tank is also cut at the same angle. Is this on purpose, and if so why? If it is wrong what should I do to fix it. Pictures below...The square is flush to the side of the fuse in both, but one side is square and the other is not. Paul
