RE: Jetlegend T-45 Hawk
For turbine version, UAT full of fuel, main tank empty and landing gear down, CG at 143mm back from leading edge at center section works very well. Too nose heavy and the airplane will bounce like a rubber ball on landing, you just run out of elevator with it too nose heavy. Prooven with over 140 flights on my T45, first flights too nose heavy and almost destroyed the airplane. Maintain power at slower speeds using speed brakes with flaps to avoid tip stall. Square wing tips and vortex generators from Global Jet Club help slow speed flight. Paul S

I agree with Tony, most likely a leaking cylinder, valve airflow is just the air going past the oring in the cylinder. Paul S

airliners.net has many pictures. look under MD-t45 or boeing t45. Also, the airplane carries both the navy and marines on opposite sides. They are not two different airplanes. Paul S

RE: Redundant RX packs are they overkill?
Smartfly makes some great dual battery units. Different styles and capacities. The second battery can help. By the way, am I the only one that checks batteries with a load between each flight? A simple load tester can also save an airplane. It is even a good entry into the flight log that I am sure everyone is keeping. Paul S

RE: JET LEGEND VIPER BUILD THREAD
kasi122: On the airplane for Mike Lin, we did add some down elevator mix to the flaps from the mid flap to full. Definitely did not need nose weight, after first flight, moved batteries back in the airplane. With fuel forward of CG, the airplane is quite nose heavy at take off. Hope this helps. Paul S

Tony: My T45 was a bit smaller but I had to go to 2 air tanks when I added the gear doors. A lot going on on each cycle. On T45 inside main doors and forward nose gear door close after LG extend. The problem I had was gear goin up, required constant maintenance of cylinder orings to make sure no leaks. Paul S

RE: Should the AMA consider changing FPV Ops 550.pdf
No problem with FPV, just put control where it belongs, under the new FAA sUAS rule. As stated earlier, our new operating charter from Congress is that models shall be operated with direct visual contact by the pilot, no more no less. It is pretty clear that FPV does not meet this requirement. Paul S

RE: IMAA Constitution Under Assult
I am so confused!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This thread started out with the IMAA bylaws being and issue and ended with ARF bashing. In between there was a lot of sour grapes and whinning. Those of you unhappy with the direction of IMAA may be the problem. Do you do more than help yourselves? When was the last time you tried to take an ARF modeler and show them the rewards of building something from a kit or plans in a large scale. Leaving IMAA will not help. There are many SIGs that only allow members to participate, IRCHA, NMPRA etc. I joined IMAA in recent years after the early boom. I find the $25 to be well spent and the Highflight magazine is worth price alone. Remember, our future survival will be dependent on CBOs to comply with the FAA requirements that allow us to operate outside of the sUAS rules. Maybe it is time to to put your sour grapes aside and go back to contributing to the hobby we all love, not trying to bring it down. Jerry N, anytime you need someone to sign something for IMAA, call me, I will be first on the list. Paul S

RE: Why they make a cap for the ca bottle
Placing the bottle in the fridge without the cap defeats the purpose. Moisture is the enemy in the case of CA glues. Whenever you use the CA bottle, you capture some outside air in the bottle when you stop using the glue. This air has some moisture in it that will condense in the bottle when you cool it down, thus shortening the life of your CA. Best to cap the bottle, put it in a locking plastic bag (squeeze the air out of the bag when closing) and then put it in the fridge. Do not freeze. This will help the life of your CA.

I would expect the FAA enforcablity will be with property owners. If you are renegade flying, the enforcement will be to warn/go after the owner of the property you are flying on. It will be up to them to ask you to leave the property once warned, otherwise they will be punished. Paul S

RE: HobbyKing - Good or Bad
You also need to consider the process when something does not work upon delivery. A friend ordered a 4 cell lipo that had only 3 cells wired. HK wanted the pack sent back to the offshore factory warehouse. Not sure if most are aware but shipment of LIPO by international air is not legal as the lipo is considered a hazardous material. Now what do you do?
