RE: NEXSTAR SOLO
Thats always good to hear, I had a nexstar and had none of the problems metioned, I do agree that the bells and whistles are not worth the money and can get a student into a lot of trouble if it is not set up correctly. overall I feel the Nexstar is a good plane to learn with.

RE: GMS engines......Good? Bad?
ORIGINAL: flightom And does someone has/had experience with an ASP engine?
I love ASP/magnum engines. I have found them to be good reliable engines, easy to tune and so far have never had a problem with them. They may have a little less power than some other engines of comparable size but they are IMHO good value for money.

RE: 4*, 60. What engine?
A magnum 91 four stroke is a great engine for a 4*60. with a magnum 91FS you will not need to add any extra weight to the plane and it will give you good reliable performance for a good price

Airport rename to honour Spitfire
Southampton Airport could be renamed in honour of the man who designed the famous Spitfire. R J Mitchell was chief designer for Supermarine and designed the warplane in 1935, dying only two years later from cancer, aged 42. On Thursday, Eastleigh Borough Council will be asking its members to support a move to rename the airport R J Mitchell International Airport in his memory. However, any final decision on a name change lies with airport owners BAA. The Spitfire first took to the skies from the airport, then Eastleigh airfield, 70 years ago. Mr Mitchell died in 1937, only a year after seeing the prototype of his design make its maiden flight. More than 20,000 Spitfires - which played a crucial role in the Battle of Britain - were built in the city's Supermarine factory in Woolston

RE: Wow, thats tastes Delicious!
After getting a healthy dose of glow fuel into my eyes (or should that be unhealthy) I now wear eye protection when fueling my planes. This to some may seem way over the top but when we are born most people are given the gift of sight, I want to protect that as I think it would be hard to fly a plane being guided by a dog and a white stick. my eyes are precious to me, without them I would not be able to look at hot women, but on the bright side I also would not be able to see what my wifes cooking looks like [:'(]

What a wuff landing (lucky dog)
Dog running onto a runway + Piper arrow = world of hurt (lucky dog) [link]http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2006170107,00.html[/link] pics and story here. BUSTER the Jack Russell was hailed a miracle mutt last night — after surviving being hit by a plane’s PROPELLER. The eight-year-old terrier was cut open “like a zip as the whirling blades sliced along his back. His injury was so severe some of his spinal bones could be seen — but amazingly no vital organs were affected. Buster was hit by the prop of a Piper Arrow after getting loose from owner Wendy Birnie and scampering on to a runway at IW Airport in Sandown, Isle of Wight. As the four-seater aircraft touched down it sank on its suspension just enough for the prop to rip along Buster’s back. Wendy, 67, of nearby Bembridge, screamed in horror as she watched him being hit. She said: “It was like he had been opened with a zip. I never thought he could survive. Landing ... plane prop hit dog Vet John O’Connor, who put 40 stitches in Buster’s wound, said: “I have never seen an injury like it. He is a very tough little dog. Airport spokesman Dick Steele said: “The pilot was unaware that he had struck the dog

Ultimate bipe questions
not sure if I have posted this in the right forum but a friend of mine died not too long ago and left me an ultimate bipe that has a 79 inch wingspan. with what looks like a 35cc gas engine for power. I would like to know if there was a manufacturer that made an ultimate bipe kit with this wingspan. I know the goldberg 30% only has a 70.5 inch span so I can rule that one out I do not plan on flying this as I am not all that much into biplanes like the ultimate. I woul like to eventually sell it to someone that will enjoy it more than I can. paul

Model plane 'blitz plot'
Model plane 'blitz plot' By SIMON HUGHES AL-QAEDA planned to use model planes in bombings, the Old Bailey heard yesterday. Supergrass Mohammed Babar — giving evidence against an alleged UK terror gang — told of his meeting with a man in Pakistan who was working on the idea. Babar said Canadian Mohammed Momin Khawaja and his brother were working on a satellite-navigated model airplane that could be fitted with explosives. Ringleader Omar Khyam, 24, wanted to launch a string of bombings in Britain targeting pubs, clubs, and train stations on the same day, Babar said. Babar, 31, alleged: “He wanted to do multiple bomb attacks — either simultaneously or one after another. Babar claimed one of Khyam’s fellow plotters Salahuddin Amin, had five to seven detonators which Khyam had paid to have smuggled into Britain. Khyam, Amin and five others deny terror charges, including conspiracy to cause explosions. Khawaja is awaiting trial in Canada. The case continues. Things like this can only damage the image of our hobby. our hobby is a peaceful passtime and then we get idiots like these that want to turn it into a means of harming people and property. I hate to read things like this as this is the kind of thing that puts our hobby in a negative spotlight with the general public that do not understand our hobby.

RE: I need a new weather channel, mine's a liar!
They are not really weather forecaster's. Santa has helpers in the form as elves and the rc gods have helpers to try and deceive us but due to Santa having a copyright on the name of elves the rc gods decided to call them weather forcasters. while Santa's elves help to bring joy and happiness to children all over the world the rc gods evil little weather forecaster's try to bring as much unhappiness, pain and suffering as they can. Did you know when they graduate from the rc gods and they have learned how to lie good enough and be able to deceive us all they then get promoted to politicians

RE: Real tanks.
the challenger you will have climbed all over would have been a challenger 1, The challenger 2 came into service in 1994. I was in 7th armoured brigade and I still say it takes a special breed to become tankers. Tanks are dirty oily contraptions and space is very limited to say the least. I love the M1 MBT but if I had my choice between the two I would choose the challenger 2 [:D]

RE: Real tanks.
I started as a crewman in a challenger 1 tank but my regiment were the first to get the new challenger 2. The loaders do have a seat but it is not the best seat in the world lol. A lot of changes were made when they built challenger 2 and I have to add they were changes for the better. challenger 2 had been tested for a period of over 10 years and over them years a lot of improvements were made before it ever bacame operational. There are several reasons why I liked the drivers seat best was the fact there was more storage space at the side of the seat and also if any member is to survive a direct hit in the tank it is usually the driver. we had a challenger 2 that had taken 3 direct hits in Iraq not so long ago and all crew members were unhurt and the tank was still operational.

RE: Real tanks.
There is a chance my parents may have some pics that i left when I moved to the U.S I will ask next time i talked to them. all tanks have very limited space to move around and the tiger was no exception. the best place i found in any tank was in the drivers seat. the position in a tank I hated most was loader operator. every time i loaded the 120mm I always thanked god i had all my fingers left. you can usually tell the loaders they have a finger or two missing lol.

RE: Registering with PUtfile
I would never use putfile and in my opinion they should be shut down for not monitoring the content on their site. I find it sick that they allow videos of U.s troops being killed in cold blood. one video on their website shows a group of Iraqi militants with a hostage in front of them, a couple of seconds later they behead this poor guy. I will never use putfile and will never visit their sick website again. To show a group of terrorist behead a man in cold blood is in my opinion a way for terrorists to gloat about how sick they are..
