RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C. Part 2.
TSNF, another suggestion I have it to take an exact-o knife and put a couple of slits in the chassis (right up against the battery tray) and just run a zip-tie through the slit, under the chassis, back through a slit on the other side and over the battery.

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
You would most likely need to get a set of stub axles that would match the Volcano SV/S30s along with a set of new wheel hexes and the proper size pin to go through the axle. Perhaps try something from HPI. I know I was able to use HPI stub axles on my Electric Volcano a few years back however I don't recall the part number.

RE: Best 1/10 or 1/8 Buggy under $300
How about a RTR Associated RC10B4 for $40 more than the brushed bandit? Only thing is you will need some batteries, prefebely some well maintained LiPo's and a LiPo charger. http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/cPath/1_44_1561/products_id/163251/n/Team-Associated-B41-Brushless-RTR-1-10-Buggy-w-24GHz-Radio

RE: Sunfire Brushless Front Gear Box replaced and now spinning backwards..??
You most likely inserted the front differential backwards into the diff casing like Eman said. Flip it around so that the actual gear faces the opposite side of the case. This should fix your problem.
ORIGINAL: jaquo2 just got a caldera 10e and was wondering what it could hadle without being to much of a strain on it?  Is ther a big diff between say 30c and 40c?
If I were you I would try and run a 5000mAh 30C or 40C. Something to note is that running to much of a C or amps rating will not hurt your electronics. That's like me saying my muscles are huge, so I don't want to hurt anything by picking up a toothpick.

RE: Changing gear ratios in Caldera 10e?
ORIGINAL: jbain2 I recently installed the traxxas velineon motor in my caldera. The stock setup that traxxas uses appears to be very different with the spur and pinion. Does anyone know if there is a comparable spur gear with the correct pitch that I can put into my caldera so that I can use the traxxas pinion(s) and take full advantage of the velineon motor? Thanks.
I mean there's really not any advantage of using traxxas pinions with the traxxas motor. The Caldera pinion it looks like is either 32p or Mod1 which means the teeth are much thicker than the 48p traxxas gears you would be using.

RE: Drove the wheels off it! Need new wheels!
I am not entirely sure that they will fit. Reason being that the B4 rear wheels run off of a straight pin, the redcat however uses a 12mm hex. However if you remove the hex and the pin is the same size, you may be able to do it. Btw, there really is no need to discharge the LiPo and discharging it too far may actually hurt it.

RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD
ORIGINAL: onenut78 well, first upgrade i'm gonna do is an esc. this 1st gen pede has the old school mechanical speed control unit, and it works good lol.
I would reccomend upgrading to a Brushless ESC and motor. While doing such I'd suggest also at minimum getting the steel upgrade [link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXSGZ3&P=7]idler[/link] and [link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXSHA2&P=7]diff[/link] gears. Also try and upgrade the 5x8 bushing in the truck to 5x11x4 bearings (you will also need the current version front and rear hubs to do this)

Electric conversion Volcano SV
Hello all, I used to be a very regular member on here a few years back, I'm not sure if anyone now would remember me. Well I aqquired a Volcano SV that I paid $30 shipped for (yes, $30 to my door). And I decided to convert it to electric using some aluminum from McMasterCarr and some hobbyking electronics. Here are some pictures to show what I did... http://s261.photobucket.com/albums/ii60/pede_kid/Redcat%20Volcano/ . I realize these pictures are not very good as they were taken with my Ipod.

RE: whats with the prices?
I saw a used savage flux the other day that I couldn't believe. He did have some extra parts and 2 lipos, not any top brand ones either. And the guy started the bidding at $900 and wanted $50 shipping.

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C. Part 2.
Hey Guys, how's it going. Long time no see.
ORIGINAL: EXT2Rob So what do you mean, exactly about ''grafting'' a B4 tranny onto the vader?  I've read Lug's description of the project, but since I never saw pictures, I could never really visualise the details.  The B4 doesnt use a gear diff, but a ball dif, right?  There was something about Lug's description of the diff adjustment that put me off the idea of doing it myself. I have had very little issues with my tranny lately, even running a 5600kv SW, until I changed from Dirt Hawg IIs to Gladiators.  Hoo boy! Did the Glads make the car controlable again!  But it wasn't long before I stripped a gear INSIDE the diff!  I fixed that, but I must;ve had the slipper too tight and I stripped the diff gear.   I too would like to try the new metal-gear diff. The Gladiators are a superior tire for the vader if yer running in dirt and running fast. The Dirt Hawgs balooned-up too much and were too soft. The Glads are stiffer in the sidewalls and tread and don't balloon up like dragster slicks.
I'm not sure if he did the same thing as I did, but a while back I put an RC10T4.1/B4.1/SC10 (which has a gear diff instead of the ball diff) trans in my Evader ST (which I have also been working on converting into a SCT for quite some time. It was fairly simple, All that was really needed was a little modification with the transmission mounts (at the bottom of the chassis as well as the trans mount attached to the shock tower). Check my pictures if you want to see what I did. http://s261.photobucket.com/albums/ii60/pede_kid/Evader%20Short%20Course%20Truck/Evader%20-%20%20RC10T4%20Transmission%20Mod/

RE: hobbyking kd 36-60 motors
I run a 36-60-8L in an evader (modified transmission) and a 6XL in a stampede. I think that for bashing they are absolutely fine. On 3s however, you might need to purchase a fan for it. I tend to not have that many issues with heat on them, but I only run 2s. On a side note, even just on 2s, the 6XL gives a ridiculous amount of torque in a 1/10.

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C.
ORIGINAL: NoTraxxisRustler Wow, that's pretty nice. Is that aluminum angle iron you are using for the front motor mount?? I originally tried to glue (Plastic Weld)  a piece of plastic to the original tranny brace. It lasted for a while, but I killed it this week at a BMX track with my kid. The plastic was not really welded.  I got this idea to use nylon cutting block and fab my own brace. I will run a 1 1/2 4-40 allen keys thru and bolt at top. I have a drill press so I actually stand a shot at getting the holes drilled. If this part proves too difficult to make, I may need to rethink my strategy so it look more like yours.  Yours look smuch simpler. Thanks a lot. BTW how is that tranny holding up?
The angled piece holds the tranny to the rear shock tower and chassis brace. The screw that goes through the aluminum angle piece goes all the way through the shock tower. Trans has been holding up good. No problems yet. I'm also running an RC10B4 (same trans but ball diff and the evader is running mod 1 spurs) since last January with no problems yet running a losi brushless system. Also Lug, if you wish to post this on your site, that is okay with me as another transmission mod: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/fb.asp?m=9997932 (Part 1) http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/fb.asp?m=10091660 (Part 2 - the only change I made from there is that I used Himoto Mega P Mod 1 spurs)

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C.
ORIGINAL: NoTraxxisRustler So far so good with my B4 conversion. My tranny came from ebay with stripped bottom mounts. I got the seller to send me new cases. I used a different approach on the front mount. than the guy on the rclugnut site. I fixed the stripped bottom mounts with Devcon Plastic Weld. It's been fun. The B4 tranny is a little flexy. I'm thinking of the following <a href=''http://www.asiatees.com/display.php?Team-Associated-RC10B4-Parts-Hop-Ups-Upgrades&brand=Team''>http://www.asiatees.com/display.php?Team-Associated-RC10B4-Parts-Hop-Ups-Upgrades&brand=Team Associated&model=RC10B4&id=436&pid=1 Ever ordered anything from AsiaTees?? This might be what you are looking for. It is the himoto version but it will work. RE: Traxxas Stampede VXL keeps flipping over when turning, help on how to set up??????
Widening the Stampede helps out A LOT. To widen mine, I used: Rear arms (I recommend either stock rears with front shocks or RPM rears with longer shocks) Extended Toe/Camber links Some other screws/hardware may be needed along the way for mounting purposes. Here are a few pictures (I am actually running front wheels on the rear and rears on the front so with front offset wheels all around it would be a little wider with the front just slightly wider than the rear) http://s261.photobucket.com/albums/ii60/pede_kid/Stampede/?action=view&current=007-1.jpg http://s261.photobucket.com/albums/ii60/pede_kid/Stampede/?action=view&current=003-1.jpg Also keep in mind I'm running an extended chassis. I have a picture with front wheels mounted if you would like to see that just let me know and I will upload that.

So I received an email from hobbyking that they are offering new "B Grade" LiPos which seem to be incredibly cheap. RE: Hobbypartz Free Shipping
Well I'm not too happy with Hobbypartz right now. I placed my first order a couple days ago. It shipped out quick and I got it today. However when I opened it I thought, "Huh, this is kind of heavy, and thick too". I ordered a 5000mAh 3s 25c blue lipo and they sent me the 6s equivelant. So now I have to get it ready to send it back to them, and it says it takes 5-10 days for them to process it after they get it, and then they have to ship it back to me, all to exchange the 6s lipo for the 3s. Needless to say, for my first purchase I'm not too happy with them.....
