RE: OFFICIAL 1/16 VXL Slash thread.
I was going to do something like that and make a project car out of it but after spending way over $100 in upgrades to my revo I just thought having one of these things to shovel money into is enough, especially since I don't have an ideal spot to drive it in arms reach... so I sold it this weekend.

RE: OFFICIAL 1/16 VXL Slash thread.
it does help, but it the truck is still too tippy... I think it's narrow stance and light weight combined with a lot of power just make it unstable.. I have to drive it more like I would a real car.. slowing way down for corners and such... it gets much better if you slam it to the ground with pre-load, but then you loose some of the suspension's ability to cushion.. all things being equal, I like my revo a lot more.. I am planning on selling the slash here soon because I just don't have a perfect dirt spot to drive it in which is where it's most fun..

RE: OFFICIAL 1/16 VXL Slash thread.
the mods I have found best for the slash are lowering it a little by using stiffer springs (black stripe) but having them set "loose" so it hangs a little lower.. the using like 50wt in the rear and 40wt in the front.. I put my 10th scale touring wheels on the slash and they are a good fit, but they made it even more tippy unless I lowered it down a LOT.. I just haven't really enjoyed the slash as a pavement basher much.. I like it in the dirt a LOT.. I use my revo on pavement now because it's big tires and wider stance is so much more forgiving on tarmac..

ok - thanks again for the info. well, lil pricey for a Chinese knock-off, let's just hope it works well for a while... seems like Venom stands behind it fairly well also.. so that's nice.. gave that guy a new balancing block after the warr was out.. so that's positive. :)

RE: Venon Pro charger - Connection break
ok, finally got to run a balance charge... immediately the charger started correcting the issue.. all cells are now at the same voltage (3.87v) and it's charging at 1a rate.. just for the first couple charges.. I guess I can go 1.5a on this 1550.. anyways.. so far so good.. but I don't think I will use the discharge feature again.. Is it worth it to hook the charge to your PC? can you update the firmware or something like that??

RE: Venon Pro charger - Connection break
I just got this charger also and thanks to this thread, I can now use it properly. lol. edit: oh crap.. I discharged my maxamps 3s 1550 with this and it left one of the cells at 3.5v and the other two at like 2.9v... wth? What should I do now? let the battery sit for 12 hours or so and then balance charge it?? edit: the two cells are back to 3v now, but the one cell is at 3.5v! should I try and balance charge and just keep an eye on the cells as it charges??
ORIGINAL: alexchen86 Thanks Peelin Out, I will run the 2S in parallel for now and watch the temperature. If I just run one of the Tenergy 1800mah Lipos what sort of run time and speed will I be looking at? I have been reading that the stock ESC needs an extrenal low voltage cut off if I do... at peak levels... so don't be disappointed if you don't get good runs out of them at first.

I am running one SMC 3s 1400mah and really like it... perfect fit and oodles of power.. I have a second one in the mail to run some parallel action with.. I think the power and run time with these in parallel will be a rockin combo.

RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!
I put a real radio on my revo and wow what a difference.. I had a little trouble fitting the RS310 module into the rx compartment.. I had to just stick it inside of the hood and then put the hood in place.. it was tight but it worked.. didn't even need any servo tape also. lol. talk about a difference though.. wow, night and day.. no glitching, super range, awesome braking. now I can really enjoy this thing. :) only issue is, I got a noise complaint from one of my neighbors.. ugh. I guess it is kind of loud and these apartments are kind of close quarters.. sucks though because it was nice to be able to run these things around near home.. now I need to find a new spot.

The all around I think I like the revo more.. the slash is best offroad in loose dirt.. like what you would find at a baseball field between the bases.. that kind of dirt.

RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!
slash vs revo... well, finally got to drive the revo a little today... it's more of the vehicle I hoped the slash would have been.. very fast and stable yet still quite nimble... I put 60wt oil in the rear shocks and weighted the front down with two large steel washers stuck in the little oval shaped bit that the bumper attaches to. I am debating on possibly selling the slash and getting a 2nd revo for the wife to drive.. I would keep it but I just don't have any good dirt patches near enough to make it something I will drive a lot.. anywhoozle.. the revo is buckets of fun so far..

RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!
So I caved and bought a revo also... selling of my MRC and some other stuff to make room in the garage... going to pull the servo off the slash and run twin servos on the revo and get a hitec for the slash servo.. I bet with the larger wheels having two steering servos does help on the revo..
The SMC LiPo's are awesome for the 1/16th Revo and Slash. The 2S is 2200mAh/28C and the 3S is 1400mAh/28C. Both packs readily fit into my 1/16th Revo.
YEs ^^ I got the 3s and wow.. it's quite a good battery.. very happy with mine.. got it for $50 on fleabay.

well, this AE radio sucks also... I need to just pony up another $70 for an RS310 and run this car off my XS3pro... when the car is going full boar the radio would make the steering twitch and the car will spin out.. didn't really find that out until today when I used the radio a lot... finally broke a rear carrier link.. er, toe link.. what-have-you... I have to drive this truck on dirt

RE: OFFICIAL 1/16 VXL Slash thread.
I agree with all of the above... I am totally used to my 18Rs which can slice up corners for breakfast... so this is a whole new experience... when it's on the dirt this truck is 5 kinds of awesome... and I with the new radio + stiffer and lower suspension controlling it on the pavement is getting better. it's the low speed flip over onto it's top because I slid on a more rough patch of pavement (grabbed traction) which was frustrating me.. but I just have to be mindful of where I choose to slide into and such... just like driving a real truck/car..

I put one of my unused AE radios on the slash and like that a lot better... the steering sensitivity was too extreme with the QT.. I think I can live with this for a while.. I have 60wt and the rears and 40wt in the fronts.. both black stripe springs.. the car feels pretty good now.. might want to drop a level of stiffness in the front.. heh heh.. I have oiled up all the joints so it's... housings.. but I was kind of hoping for a whole alum shock kit to come out soon..
