So, I did ok then? lol I am still not sure if I am aiming for a number closer zero, is that what I am after? I could drop the pinion to 22t and that would be real close to zero.

I measured the OD of the tire using my calipers, they are 2.50 dia. Is that close enough? or do I need to do it a different way?

RE: Mystery Solved! How to select the proper gearing for your electric RC!
So let me make sure that my noob a$$ understands this right. I want the tire gearing ratio as close to zero as possible? and slight negative means more torque? and a positive number equals more top end speed? I have a Losi xxx-s running a P2K with a 90T spur, and a 25T Pinion. The internal ratio for Losi is 1.83 I assume that is the transmission ratio in the spread sheet? Using these calculations I come up with a tire ratio of 1.266. Did I do it right? it would seem I need a about a 21 or 22t pinion to get closer to zero. Thanks for any help.

RE: Energizer 15min. or Rayovac 15min batteries
You have to hit them real light 50-150 mA for a long time (16-20 hours) to get the cells all balanced out then they will charge great after that.

I am using the Energizer 2500 mAh Nihm's in my TX and they work great, I tied in a charging jack, and use my Triton charger to charge it, and the rx cells (5 -c 1100 mAh hump pack)

BT-50SB vs. BT-64A
Hello Bax, I have a quick question regarding the mount differences between the two motors listed above. I have a BT-50SB mounted on a GP Extra 300S and would like to upgrade the engine to the BT-64A. Are the mounts the same hole pattern? I also noticed that according to the manuals the 50 weighs more than the 64, is this right? Thanks in advance.

RE: Newbie and his Triton
Well if that is indicated in the upper right hand corner after the discharge/charge is done it says 595 mAh which would seem to be a good thing. If I need to look for it somewhere else I am at a loss, I had to re-run the cycle when I got home from work (swing shift) as I had already turned the unit off. I will leave it on until I recieve a reply (within reason) Thanks for all the help. -Brian

Newbie and his Triton
Hello all, I fly RC gas and nitro planes, using Nimh, and Nicd batteries. I bought a Triton charger to work two different angels for me. 1 for field charging my rx and tx packs, and 2 to cycle my Nicd packs once a month at home. Could someone give me a simple run down of how a cycle process works, and should I charge then discharge, or reverse? Or a link to site that might have these steps spelled out for the newbie like me. Just for reference here are the kinds of packs I have. Also how much can I hit these things with, and not do damge? I know I have asked a whole bunch, but any help would be great! 600 mah 4.8 v rx packs 1500 mah 4.8 v rx packs 600 mah rx packs 1450 mah 4.8 v rx packs Regards, Brian

Hello Danny, I was hoping you could help me with this simple problem that I can't figure out [:D] I have a 7 channel reciever and I would like to use dual elevator servos on my UCD -46 without the use of a Y-harness. I assume I will have to mix in a channel to slave off the Elev. channel. I have done so following the manual, but I don't see anywhere how to reverse the channel. Am I in the right ballpark or did I make a complete wrong turn somewhere? any help would be great!! Regards, Brian

I retained the cone and baffel. I never used a wrench or screwdriver just my fingers because I am aware of that. Customer service is sending me a new muffler free of charge. OS's service and customer support have not changed much in twelve years. This is the second time I have dealt with them, and I must say. What a pleasure! Keep up the good work and great customer support. [:D] Regards Brian

OS 46FX muffler screw
Hello all. Today at the field I had a strange thing happen, and I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. while flying my plane my muffler came off. Now I know this is not that uncommon, but here is what is. the bold that runs through the muffle front to back that holds the the exhaust deflector, and the baffle on sheared off on the screw head side. I have never had this off or even messed with it other than to check that is was not loose. I should also say that the engine has less than a gallon of fuel through it and is only about a month and a half old. It would seem to me that the bolt that ran through must have been heat treated wrong or something along those lines as there is no other that it could have just sheared off like that. Has this happened to anyone else, and could someone tell me if this item is common, and can I get it at the LHS or do I need to order it? I contacted Product Support [productsupport@hobbico.com] and I am waiting for someone to reply.

Good servos at 6v
Hello everyone. I need to know what kind of servos work well at 6v. I need BB servos with about 50-60 oz torque at 6v. I also need one in the 90 oz torque at 6v. They will need to work ok with JR euip. And they should be in the $30.00 or less range, at least for the smaller ones. Any suggestions? Regards Pezz

Saito FA 80
Well after much consideration I bought a new Saito FA 80 for my U Can Do -46 it weighs almost the same as a OS FS 70 and I thought why not? Well I took it down to the field today to show some of the guys, and one guy was going oh man you can only run that on 30% heli mix otherwise it won't run good. Is this the case guys? I sure hope not because I don't want to spend all my money buying 30 dollar a gallon fuel all the time [:o] Could anyone give me the skinny on this engine. I thought I was doing real good by getting this engine.

UCD -46
Greetings all, I hope everyone is having a great holiday season. I got a U Can Do -46 for xmass, and I have been hearing that these planes build tail heavy. Could anyone here shed some light on this for me? If it does build tail heavy I was considering going with a Magnum 80 RFS as it weighs 22.2oz the OS 70 is lighter, and the Saito 72 is really light at 16.7 oz. but if my info is wrong and the UCD builds fine I will prbably go with the Saito. Any comments would be great. Happy holidays
