RE: Extreme Flight 88
@Slow and Steady thank you for the reply..I forgot to update this post.come to find out i was 180 out on my expo settings on my radio..I had previously always used spectrum stuff and was unaware of the negative expo settings on my aurora. So in essence some of my controls were 80 percent more sensitive rather than dulled..Lol what a lesson .Funny thing is if theses one lesson ive gotten in life in my 35 years it has been to never assume.Well there i go again..i assumed all radios were on a positive expo curve only and there was no such thing as making it more sensitive via radio..It almost cost me..Second flights were so much easier on the heart!

RE: AeroWorks Edge 540T 46-60?
sweet deal. Were you planning on going glow with it? BTW. i just found out in reference to my scary maiden on my ef yak http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QqI4C...nfCsx00dy8H4uE= My new aurora 9 radio does there expo the opposite of the radio i have been using forever. I had 70% expo dialed in on ailerons and 65 on elevator and on this radio it should have been -70 and -65 Thats a 140 and 130 % turn arround No wonder i was freaking out on its sensitivity Crazy thing is- i knew it was nose heavy as hell but seemed pitch sensitive to some degree as well, so ive been scared to pull that cg back In reality i was using higher throws than i ever have before in combinations with a an extremly sensitive expo setting Cant wait to go back- and get my confidence back

RE: AeroWorks Edge 540T 46-60?
i dont know if you have flown a slick before btw.. but yeah in all honesty if your hanging on to money for that go for it. the only reason i didnt get the slick in that size was because its listed under electric planes , and had a saito 91 and didnt know if it can handle a fourstroker . But i did have the oppurtunity to fly someones 71 Slick with gas engine and i was awesome .I dont know if the 59 will fly anything like it but nevertheless im sure it will be equally as awesome per plane size and whats to be expected from that class of model. If your interested here is a youtube link to a scary maiden of my Ef yak 88 My bro filmed it with my i phone for a min or 2 and cut i off because it was low on batteries. By time i got it dialed in a bit i was able to some really nice 4 point rolls and awesome slow knife edges and harriers . Since then i havnt flown it again but moved the battery back 4 inches and recheck balance to find it was balanced better there, it was extremly nose heavy " dont know how this happened" but it did http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QqI4Cu0wuNc&context=C41f65bfADvjVQa1PpcFPmNaIAyx9Agypo80EKHSgbmMLP9ov3AQw= Brother was talking silly while filming trying to be funny - forgive him, he was carrying on this video skit he did with that voice that was absolutly hilarious, but i could have done with out it on my maiden lol

RE: AeroWorks Edge 540T 46-60?
I didnt actually weigh it this time.I will do but its stored at my dads house atm.. I can say im using an a123 2300 pack which was heavier than nicad pack i used on my edge and i think its the same or mayb slightly lighter, but i really would need to scale it for you. oh and just remembered im using saito 91 in this and was using magnum 91 in the edge so theres probally the difference in the battery pack right there. I started to just go look it up on the aeroworks web page ..but.. then i thought... nm lol

RE: AeroWorks Edge 540T 46-60?
i agree, i just paid for the extra 260 which really feels and looks alot like the edge accept the forward swept wing. And the COST was 275 or so. I will say the plus to the extra 260 for the extra 80 bucks are bolted cowl- blind nuts pre installed 2 peice wing with bolts plus cotter pins Firewall predrilled with blind nuts installed strings all run for servo extension routing electric conversion kit graphics were transfer tape type, not stickers there may even be a thing or 2 im missing but after buying it im up in the air if its worth the extra 80 bucks..But the plane flew with 0 trim needed out of the box more less most the the pre work done on the Qb's eleminate building error I did have the measure and glue in horizontal stab tho and install stupid controlHORNS!

clunkless fill line was going to the carb and the clunked fuel line was going to the fuel dot! .. [&o] DoH! So my saito is still flawless, im glad the mistake was me!

RE: AeroWorks Edge 540T 46-60?
Maiden flight was today on my aeroworks extra 260.This thing looks and flies just like my edge i lost. it needed absolutly no trim and was just trackiing so good and almost had neutral rudder yaw. However i had to deadstick land it , and was actually pretty dam easy and floaty, but did come in a little hot on the runway and it touch down where it always does but then rolled off the runway into some rough ripping out the gear, easy fix, and plane was just wow for me!

RE: Extreme Flight 88
Well the maiden was shaky!! was on high rates during take off..I dont think ill ever maiden on high rates again! My brother was acting silly in the background and also filming with my cell phone for his first time It wasnt on film but not too long after was able to dial it in a bit and get off some nice fourpoint rolls, hands off inverted flight and mayb even had no coupling in the the knife edges. But i had quite a bit of altitude to really tell for sure In the end i was seing one hell of a plane shaping up I did have to add 1 click right aileron and 8 clicks of elevator- it was diving nose diving pretty hard at about 75 percent throttle from regular level flight.. Am i nose heavy more than likly? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QqI4Cu0wuNc&context=C42a541cADvjVQa1PpcFPmNaIAyx9Ag33ZCfy4GnfCsx00dy8H4uE=

RE: AeroWorks Edge 540T 46-60?
kinda risky but i got a saito 100 used for 90 dollars on ebay and runs great, had a little tarnish on muffler- other than that it was fairly clean and ran strong and flawlessly- i put it ona bigstik 60 for my father and hew flies the shit out of it. Also magnum 91 was very cheap and was for me an absolutly excellent motor, slightly less rpm than my saito, but just barly and always starts on first flip and was a great combo for the edge imo..I would usally lean towards a 100 but if your comming from a 55 to a magnum 91 and you propped it with an xoar 15x6 you would have a very livly plane and prop it with a vess 15x6 and you will have pretty good speed and nice vertical and power for hovering. Ive been waondering if this thing would do good with a dle 20, but havnt been able to find any one that has done this.Especially with all the buzz arround the dle 20 it sure seems to make a nice option for using gas on smaller planes with good results.

Well i ended up canceling my order on the edge and got the extra 60-90 for my dle, since had the install kit for the dle available with instructions and all..I loved the edge but im happy to try somthing different as well. Never quite understood why the price on the 60-90s are 100 dollars more than the edge and its the same weight -wingspan and just about all the dimensions are the same for the most part

RE: AeroWorks Edge 540T 46-60?
I flew it on a magnum .91 - was cheap - dependable and alot of fun. A matter of fact after initial tuning i didnt touch the needles for 2 years and it started first flip after choking every time..Power was a little so so to me at first on a 14x6 then i went to a 16x4w and it actually became a little faster and a hell of alot more pull and vertical power. Was hovering and harriers were pretty stable with this.. Then i switched the vess 15 x6 wood prop and increased speed quite a bit , lost a hair bit of pull but not much really and spooled up alot better than the 16x4w did.Over all the magnum with the Vess prop was a blast..I also did a xoar wood prop, didnt have near the pull but got pretty quick for my taste on the edge If i had it all to do over again, And i do considering i just ordered a new airframe) I think i will go with the saito 100 as well conisdering i think it weighs no more than my magnum 91 - mayb less! But if money doesnt allow me and i wouldnt hesitate to order another magnum 91 for this it may even be very well whats going to happen , Ive been throwing alot of money into a a gasser plane

Not a biggy tho, i think i would know real quick when i go start it today.I wont mount the cowl for a flight or or more probally.. Appreciate your help again. RE: Extreme Flight 88
Im currently building my first gas plane on this ef yak 88'' model..Im mounting a DLE 55 rite now.. Im having a bit of problem since it needs to be mounted inverted i take it, the throttle arm sticks out the top right side and needs to be on the bottom left for a st8 shot. It looks like i could mount it where its at, by turning the servo arm arround and having a major downhill angle from the throttle arm to the servo arm, but looks like it would still work.. Is this a real bad idea, or any one have any remedies, or can tell me what they did?

RE: AeroWorks Edge 540T 46-60?
Yeah most im sure are overkill in torq, And being coreless and Tg - thats more of a gasser stop really at valleyview..but cant beet the prices, my hitecs were 30-40 cheaper per servo there. they may have lower line savox servos out there that would be realy price friendly and a great servo.."So they say"

This company is pathetic , There company policy is to make the money off of sales, with no return policies on items they know are a peice of shit ..No time is invested in them..They sell broken Tx's literally on purpose. Then Because they dont deal with returns ..you fucked..The dont care about repeat buisness at all ..there motto is " theres enough first time buyers to make a living if we sell junk at low cost with no returns" Banana Hobbies =pile of crap On top of this the have tons of advertisment videos With all there products being compelty modified out the ass. And film in a way that makes there dick look bigger

RE: AeroWorks Edge 540T 46-60?
Yeah i hear yah..I just love getting into stuff) Oddly enough i have never been in a servo. guess i never had any reason to, because i was always using 10 dollar servos.. Mostly the High torq Mg digital servo from china for 10 DOLLA. Actually other than 1 nice highspeed servo i had in my edges throttle ive never owned an expensive servo until now.And its to put in my 50cc.. I think like i said before though, this time arround on my replacement edge! " Since mine flew away and didnt come back" Im not gonna skimp on servos so much..See how much i like the results.I believe as my skills have improved much recently I will notice the difference much more than i might would have back then.Just because of the more aggressive flying style.. Actually i noticed at http://www.rcaircraftcomponents.com/ They have hitec 7955's for like 30 dollars less than most places, and i havnt priced Savox servos else where but they seem to be a bit cheaper than the hitecs and i have read some nice things about them. Any experience with Savox servos? And if so mayb a suggestion on a which exacts? would be nice for the edge keeping price down as much as possible But yet not trying to skimp- yah know! Im sure theres a point where kick in- Compared to what you spend/need for this size plane.

RE: AeroWorks Edge 540T 46-60?
I think the last time i posted here was saying i lossed mine over a bluff.. I since purchased an Extreme Flight 50cc yak -dle 55-7955tg's and some A123 batteries..Its already to go now except the installation of the engine. Im very much looking for ward to it, but I am also looking Forward to getting another AW edge" I really Miss Mine" Plus need to get my fingers moving a bit again on the plane i loved for a couple years, before diving into my first gasser! This time i think ill go with balljoints all arround a little better servos and a bit more radio mixing that i have become more and more familiar with over this last year.. I think im going to like my replacement Awedge more than my first) Probally gonna go saito .91 -I had magnum .91 first time, and now i have a saito lying arround in a splintered big stick..But i dont think any engine dmg was done.

@slow and steady I actually was just reading through a thread for The EF yak ..And found about 12 pages of talk to a guy that got caught up in one ..Ive had safety on my mind quite a bit over the last few daysAnd you just reminded me again! And i TY.. the guy i spoke of was frustrated of a non starting engine and lost some of his full attention. For him i think he more less had it tied down with rope, and eased up on the plane with slack in the rope(.

RE: EF YAK 88 with DA-50 needs more power?
Hello Everyone! I would like to start off saying im new to this thread but have read a good bit of it. If some of these questions were covered in other threads forgive me. Okay , this is my first gas plane period..Ef Yak 54 -88'' The Arf went together very well so far, and i am very pleased with the quality, and was happy to see unlike the instructions said mine came with wheels and axels as well. I may ask several in particuliar questions during this but my biggest question is asking for feedback onmy approach as a whole. so here is what i have purchased so far. 1. DLE-55 " I am on a somewhat limited-budget -not really wanting to discuss engine choice" 2. Hitec 7955Tg servos for all control surfaces- Can i use stock control arms relaibly " i know i need 4'' offset arm"for pull pull 3. Throttle servo.. have not purchased how skimpy can i go here . do i need high speed for throttle response. 4. Fromeco Extreme geniune A-123 cell 2300mah battery with 2 Fromeco Badger switches< one for Rx and 1 for ignition. 5. New Radio -Hitec aurora w/ 7 channel reciever -is channels enough? 6 I also purchased plenty of hd twisted Extensions I Do want to Simplify my Set-up as much as possible, to elminate points of failure and user error" Im so nervous setting it up, and dont want to overlook somthing. ALL in ALL - I was looking into a 4.8 seperate battery for ignition and using my one A-123 2300mah battery for rx, or buying another A-123 and running duels on rx.. IF i were to go that route should i just use regulator for igntion Note my dle ignition specifies no more than 5 volts or damage will be done Also read somthing interesting somewhere that there were a few guys running there ignition for DLE's off the balancing tab of A-123s Do you guys think there is a clear cut answer for any of this .. one 2300mah for rc? duel batteries for rx? if duels should i use regulator and skip the seperate battery for ign and shar one of the 2-2300 packs going to rx .or was my original plan of seperate nicad4.8v battery on ignition and one a-123 2300 on Rx sound the most practical Last question As far as choke- Is manual with no servo Viable? - As far as DLE-55, stock muffler vrs pipe..Night and day difference>? or not enough to justify 300 dollars off the get go Please Remember , Im trying to keep it simple but by no means put myself in danger by doing somthing not worth the saving a point of failure/weight/redunancy thank you guys

RE: DLE-55 SPARK PLUG???
I just recently purchased an Extreme flight yak 88'' w/ a DLE -55 Ive heard to get the CM6 sparkplug And plan on grabbing a few. Ive never dealt with a gas engine before at all. However when breaking in nitro engines i usally ditch the plug after a break in My question is would people suggest me using the stock plug for break in time then replace? One big difference "I know" is you break in your engine in the air pretty much on a gas engine.. Any suggestions will be appreciated!
