RE: Picco 90 build
Unless you plan on letting the boat sit in the water and idle for long periods of time you really don't need the water pump. I would agree with several other posters, I think the liner with the 3/16 Flex will cause problems. If you can remove the liner and run 1/4 flex it will hold up much better to the power of the .90

Sounds like a good day. We had Mothers Day plans all day or we would have been there. Maybe next weekend. Phil

Maybe we will get some nice weather next weekend. There are guys that go that have a lot of experience with nitro. I have had 9 or 10 nitro boats but now mostly run gas and FE. Phil

RE: Where to Run Nitro Boats in or near StLouis Metro Area?
The first thing I would do to your boat is to make sure it has plenty of flotation ( pool noodles work great ). I have seen a few boats crash and sink because the factory does not always use enough. Its a cheep upgrade. When you run the boats they ARE going to blow over, rollover, crash and die out in the middle of the lake. Its good to plan and be ready for it to happen. Its also good to have a cheep electric retrevial boat. I use a Shockwave 26 and can hook a fishing line to the rear of the boat and run the small boat out and drive it around the dead boat and then crank them both back in with the real. Just a few ideas for you. Phil

RE: Where to Run Nitro Boats in or near StLouis Metro Area?
What type of boat are you going to run ?? I was new several years ago and I think the value of being around seasoned rc boaters was priceless for me it helped me learn the hobbie and kept me from making a lot of rookie mistakes. Most of the people I know are very willing to help out the newer boaters. Call me anytime if you have any ? 314-258-5436. Phil

RE: Where to Run Nitro Boats in or near StLouis Metro Area?
It's the lake, there are much better places to run in the STL area. Frank Holten State Park right across the river in Illinois. Huge lake great parking and restrooms. I live right by unger park and I would rather drive 15 min to Holten. There is another lake in Valley park that is ok if you only want run FE. Simson Park ( I think ) very nice location. I went to unger a few times with several other members and we just didn't get to excited about the location, bad parking, lots of debris in the water, ect. Right now we need the ice to go away. If you ever want to go when the weather gets nicer give me a call. 314-258-5436 Phil

I went there about a month ago and the grass was cut back and I was able to walk down to the lake and run several of my boats. Lots of sticks and junk floating in the water.

RE: Thunderboat speed and prop questions
The voodoo banshee I think is a 7514 2 blade rounded and cupped. It had great top speed but the conditions were perfect that day. Has anyone ran the 6518 ?

RE: Thunderboat speed and prop questions
Hey Guys, I just wanted to chime in. I just finished breaking in a WWH Stingray Enforcer, M-5 mild mod, dry pipe, and with a Voodoo Banshee prop it ran 57 mph over the weekend ( 46mph w/ stock 75 prop) and handeled like it was on rails. I just ordered a 6518 Voodoo to try this weekend.

WWH Stingray Enforcer Thunderboat
I was wondering if anyone else is running this boat. I just finished breaking it in over the weekend. M-5 mod, dry pipe, and with the stock 75 prop it ran 46.7 mph. I then swiched to a Voodoo Banshee 2 blade and ran 57.6. I have also ordered a 6518 to try this weekend. For a big boat this really seems to run and handle well. Thanks Phil

I have a WHH Boat with a clutch and water pump. Iwas running the boat on a bench yeaterday and noticed that when I reved the engine the flow of water seemed to slow down. Is that normal ? When I run it in the lake will the force of the water through the pick-up help the pump cool the engine?? thanks

K&B Outboard Qusetion
I have several K&B Outboards (3.5ss and a 7.5 w/pipe) I'm not sure if the way the previous owner has the props mounted is correct. The Prop is on the shaft then there is a piece of fuel line pushed on then the prop nut. What is the reason to have the fuel line (spacer) on there. Can I just slide on the prop then bolt it on ??

Can I use this Nitro Fuel
In my area I have a hard time finding marine nitro at the hobbie shops. I have been told that car and buggie fuel ( 20% nitro 12% oil ) does not have nough oil to keep the marine engines lubricated at prolonged full throtle. I have found some Helicopter fuel that is 30% nitro and 24% oil. Would that be better in my K&B Outboards 3.5, 7.5, 11 cc and my picco .67. Thanks Phil

Outboard Tunnel Hull Question
The smaller boat is a DPI that had a K&B 3.5 on it. Last week I smashed it into a concrete pole that was sticking out of the water, full speed. So that boat is destroyed. I had the larger (32 in ) Tunnel as a spare, I have never had a motor to put on it. Im going to try and switch everything over to the larger boat. My question is do you think the 3.5 will be strong enough to push the larger boat fast enough to get it up and running on plane ? I would like to use this as a boat to let my friends drive and learn with. Also any guess what kind of hull it is ? Thanks

Nitro Mono Hull Set-Up Question
My boat is a 47 inch Twincraft with a picco .67 I just got this boat back in the water after if sat for 6 years. I am wondering why all the spacers have been placed between the rudder and mounting plate to move the rudder over to the right so far ? If this was used as a race boat would this make the boat turn sharper to the right ? I am planning on just running the boat around the lake and having fun with it. Now for my question, can I remove all the spacers ( moving the rudder closer to center ) and straighten out the steering linkage and get better overall performance ? Thanks Phil
