RE: Questions: Ace Seamaster 120
Hi all have been tinkering with my SM120 and after the first flight it should have been scrap wood, I understand why there are so few around but having surived the maiden this is what ended up with . It was an old ace kit and built as per the booklet and I added U/C . Ballance point shown is OK +3 deg engine ,stops the power pitch coupling (ASP 160 twin) +2 wing untouched +1.5 on the stab (1/4 packing at the LE )

RE: JetJoe OWNERS thread
Recheck your glow plug cabling and rout it as far from the Tacho pick up and wirring as practical ,twisted together works best . If that dosn't work try back screan parameter#18 Value 4 and #19 Value-3 and should make it go Phill

RE: BEARINGS
Hi guys Yes the bearings for all JPX where special make and arn't manufactured any more anywhere. I've been fixing them for some time (since run out of parts). There is two ways you can go (1)you can get the rotor shaft ground down to 10mm to take a standard bearing (boca) remember that the spacers and compressor wheel have an ID of 10.1mm nominal and require a bushing or a new component made . (2)Buy a set of (boca) bearings, disassemble them and have an engineering shop open up the ID of the inner race section on a tool and cutter grinder to fit your shaft. I prefer the second method as thats what I 've used in the past.

RE: Big Seamaster?
Hi all I had a ACE120 4years age was an excellent flying machine powered with a GMS 120 all was ok untill I damaged the prop in transport and used a different brand it then flew like a ruptured duck it crabed and was generally dogy to fly, replaced the prop back to normal. There was 1.2oz difference between (one prop was wood the other was GR plastic) Phill

RE: Wasp update
Hi Guys I've made and repaired enough( Name brands) engines now that only constructive criticism helps and that two engines made the same do not exactly run the same. I'll back a design that moves the development of R/C turbines forward which these days is hard to do

RE: JetJoe OWNERS thread
Hi YLF how old is your JJ1400? I had a small hicup with my JJ1200 which I've changed to 1400 The vaperiser tubes in the CC were to close to the outer wall and at hi rpm it tends to cool the vaperiser tubes with the added mass flow ,but unless you are comfortable about oppening up your engine I'd have your service agent look at it
