2 Meter Pattern Plane Servos ?
Looking for suggestions on minimum torque (oz-in.) for a 2 meter pattern plane. I realize that each manufacturer measures their numbers differently, but an approximate figure would do. Ail Elev Rud Thanks in advance!!!!!!

Can anyone give the approximate charge times for 5S 5000mah and 2 5S 5000mah packs in series, at a 1C charge rate? Also the times if you have charged the above packs at a higher rate? Thanks

RE: Custom charge case
Instead of the power supply, can't one charge off the car battery with the engine running? Won't the car alternator kick in to recharge the battery if it gets low?

RE: Custom charge case
Nice set up? Question, if you are using an Iota 55 amp power supply, which I assume can be plugged into an AC outlet for charging, what purpose does it serve at the field provided there are no AC outlets?

Nats and 50 size pattern plane
Was wondering how a 50 size pattern plane, 60-62 inch wing span, can compete with the 2 meters at the Nationals? Does anyone know if a 50 size plane placed at this yrs Nationals 2010? The reason for the question is that typically in IMAC, the bigger the plane, the larger the maneuver, the better the presentation, the higher the score. Does this hold for true for Pattern? Thanks

How to paint a fiberglass fuselage?
I know there might be many ways to paint a fuse, but what is the recommended procedure for painting a fiberglass fuse to keep it light as possible? My building skills, well below par. Got a quote from a professional, $300 for 1 fuse, $250 for two, (is this over priced)? Spoke with someone at a local hobby store that said if I sand it with 200 grit paper, he will shoot it for 40 bucks. The two seem a bit imbalanced, $300 vs $40 painted with spray cans. What is the proper way to do this? HELP! Thanks

Thanks guys for all the feedback, not 100% but I'm leaning towards electric. Not being in the hobby for yrs now, I was impressed by the two small electrics I do have. Thanks again!

Glow or Electric
Purchased a 3D genesis, looking for some feedback on engines and motors. I will be doing 50% pattern flying, 50% 3D (i know that this plane is not a true pattern bird). I've got it narrowed down to these choices: 1. YS 1.70 2. New Hacker Q60 3. Plettenberg 30-10 Cons for the above: 1. Vibration, tuning, noise 2. new on the market, batteries expensive, short flight times 3. only heard great things about this motor, expensive batteries, short flight times Love the feel of four strokes, great low end torque. I'm open to something different as long as it can compare to the power of the YS, this will be my first large electric. Any suggestions?

RE: KMP/eBay YAK-54 Build and Fly
I flew my KMP Yak the a few days ago. Nice flying aircraft. But I have to say that the EF Yak does fly better, I have both. And I'm not an expert on this but I would have to say because it is a lighter aircraft, at least it felt lighter. I'm not knocking this plane, I think it's a keeper. But for all those who wondering which one to go for, EF hands down. Make sure you iron the covering for the KMP, almost cost me the plane.[8D]

RE: KMP/eBay YAK-54 Build and Fly
Looking to see how many people have lost thier yak due to structurial failer. Or on the positive note, how many flights have you gotton on this airplane and does if fly with good precision. Also will the gaps in the wing have a negative affect in teh flight characteristics?

If money was not an option, nor gas concerns...... Y.S. 1.60 or Brisson 2.4? Bottom line, which will have more power? Low end torgue is a good thing.

RE: Ultra R/C Giles 202 UL 29%
Was wondering if I was missing anything by selling my "never flown" Aeroworks 27% ultimate and getting the Giles 29%? I have never flown a biplane and thought it might be different. BUT, this giles looks pretty good and I could use if for 3D and IMAC. Is there any problems with biplanes or are monoplanes the way to go? Also it look like field assembly with the giles will be much quicker than the Ultimate.

RE: Extreme Flight Yak-54
Question? I getting a Yak this coming summer( whenever they come in) I am putting a 4000 mah lithium Ion battery in the plane. "Duralite" Does anyone think that this will be too heavy for the YS 1.10. Or will I need a 1.40. Also is it worth putting in the 1.40 for the extra POWER even though the engine is heavier?
