Traxxas Bandit Brushless tire and wheel situation
I recently bought a 1/10 scale Traxxas bandit with the brushless system and I got a 3S LiPo battery. I promptly regeared and hit the road on the largest asphalt surface i could find. I then shredded the tires. They are completely bald. Its an awesome vehicle. I have a ton of 2.2 truck tires, but i cant find wheels to fit this thing. They use buggy tires and are not as wide. Are there any good pin type wheels that fit 1/10 truck tires and are pretty cheap. I dont want to buy the hex adapters unless I know they fit well, and I also want to avoid spending that 10 bucks if i dont need to. Thanks everyone! Now Im going to go buy a wheelie bar. Review on the car for anyone who wants to read: The Traxxas Bandit VXL is pretty awesome. With a LiPo battery and a 31 tooth pinion gear, it FLIES. Its pretty much completely necessary to get a wheelie bar or weights on the front to keep the car on the ground. Its tough, I hit a mailbox going around 30-ish and only bent a shock rod. Cheap to fix and its back on the road. Well worth the money I put into it. It reminds me of the goldpan Associated RC10 I have, so thats a lot of the reason I bought it. It probably doesnt handle as well as the trucks that are in the same price range, but it is a LOT of fun.

RE: RC 10 15T motor problems
I never thought of that... They are getting hotter than that. Now, i need to find a guide on gearing I guess. Its the same gear and transmission that came with the stock 27T motor on the car... so yeah, that COULD be a problem. Ill look into regearing now.

RC 10 15T motor problems
I have a team associated RC10 Championship edition, and Im restoring it as best I can. I have a new HPI firebolt motor in it, and its a 15T motor. I also have Dynamite 15T Tazer ESC. Im having a few problems with it though. First, My motors are dying, and Fast. Im on the second firebolt in a while. The first worked for about 3 weeks with about 15 runs on it (a battery charge... or about 25 minutes) I run the motors hard i guess. The second motor lasted 4 runs and the brushes came off of the arms on the inside. Im irritated at this. These are cheap motors but I dont want to keep buying them. (i ordered two more today). Also, I blow the motors out usually after each run so they dont get too gritty and dirty. Im running the buggy in dirt, sand, gravel. etc. Any suggestions here? Second, My motor takes a while to get to full speed. It goes about 75 percent and then goes to a full 100 percent power/speed. Is this because of the cheap ESC, or was the motors going bad? it happened on both the motors; the latter half of the life of the first motor, and the whole time on the second motor. This was a super cheap ESC and motor, so im not surprised. Thanks so much for all the help! -Ethan

RE: Team Associated RC10 project
I also need a battery. I have an old charger that will work with NiCd batteries ( I think its a Nickel Cadmium charger anyway...) so those batteries will probably be better for me. ive heard the advantages of the new batteries, but like i said, I want to go as cheap as possible.

Team Associated RC10 project
I just found a Team associated RC10 buggy that my cousin gave me for a project years and years back. I have a futaba controller (75mhz) and a matching reciever. Im pretty much entirely new to RC stuff, so i need a bit of help. I got a 15T firebolt motor. I am going to get a Tazer 15T ESC. I need a pair of Futaba crystals (75mhz). I will buy them off of someone here if you are looking to sell some (or know of a place to get some cheap). I am a college student, not looking to get too big into the hobby, but as a Mechanical Engineering student, It does interest me. I need some shock rebuild kits for the shocks, and some new wheels/tires. I might also need a new rear end or differential. I can probably rebuild that though. other than that, I should be good to go. Can anyone give me some tips and tricks on getting into the hobby? Also: The futaba controller doesnt have a battery pack and i went to my local hobby shop and they said it took 8 AA's but in a weird pack. I can probably make my own, but should i use 1.2v rechargeable AA's or 1.5v regular ones? Thanks so much! -Ethan
