RE: HPI Apache C 1
Yes running 4s, seems to be plenty of power for what I do. The new motor definitly is stronger than stock and it handles good. Great traction with the larger tires, handles the rough stuff much better. I would have prefered 2.8s over the 3.8s but for what I wanted the field is limited, not into the black on black thing. I like some chrome for contrast, just personal preference. So far I'm happy with the results, it rocks lol....

RE: HPI Apache C 1
Update, I installed the RC Monster Hot Bodies D8 motor mount and a Mamba Monster 2200kv motor, you have to slightly modify the receiver box screw boss removing some material to make room for the motor shaft but it's an easy install. Nice strong mount with easy adjustment for pinion/spur lash. Haven't ran it yet but I'll get some more info and pics up this weekend....

RE: HPI Apache C 1
Got the Desperados and Badlands mounted up and took it for a spin, awesome traction now. The roost is impressive under power lol, handles great and on 4s still with stock gearing the motor temp got up to 152 after 20 minutes or so of thrashing in the short grass. These tires are nearly 6" tall so top speed should be in the low 40's. I put some 120k fluid in the center diff to cut down on the front tire ballooning under acceleration and that did the trick. So far I'm happy with the performance gains from the larger tires, it needs them IMO. I'll get up some new pics soon...

RE: HPI Apache C 1
Those rims/tires are some I had on hand to try out, I ordered a set of black chrome Desperados' and a set of Badlands to run on the Apache but I like chrome over black anyway. Personal preference but the main thing is the improved traction and handling and a little more ground clearance also. The stock tires just aren't up to the task for the weight and power this thing has IMO... I don't know if Imex is going to make rc tires anymore, you can't find them anywhere. Glad I bought a few sets when they were available...

HPI Apache C 1
My new Apache with better tires and a Mamba Monster esc along with adjustable camber and toe links. Longer front driveshafts (92mm), stock motor and gearing for now. It stands right up when you hammer the throttle on 4s, stock tires are just too small IMO. It looks much better or more to scale to me with these which are 3.2" Revolver Stablemaxx rims with 2.8" Imex Baja's installed. Tires end up being 5.5" tall with trimmed Ofna foams inside, it weighs 10# without the battery lol, no lightweight but it should take a good pounding. Anyone else pick one up yet?

RE: I want to get back into 1/10...
What's powering your Mini T? You can make them very fast with a brushless system and lipos. I have one with a Tekin mini rage system that I can run on 3 and 4s and there's no lack of power or speed but they're very limited for off roading....

Check your slipper clutch, maybe it's loose and slipping to much. That would give off the smoke you seen and make it not run normally....

RE: NEW!!!! Official Axial EXO buggy thread...
Everything I run has a 4 pole motor and I have alot of them but I won't run the 2650 on 4s, I would go with a lower kv if I went that route. As far as speed and power I'm only trying to satisfy myself, if people think I 'm crazy that's fine. I'm not offended at all, it's all in what you want performance wise....
The weight though they advertize is without electronics, I don't know if that's kit roller weight before you add the servo, motor, esc, battery but if it is it's going to weigh alot more than 4.9#. There's alot of steel components, the drive cups/shafts from their pictures look to be on par with 1/8th scale. I guess we'll find out when the buggy hits the market, we have alot of good options to power it....

RE: NEW!!!! Official Axial EXO buggy thread...
ORIGINAL: Foxy
ORIGINAL: wracing What motor and ESC would you use in this? For bashing. Not racing...
This. On 3s it will be a madman. Great for racing on 2s as well. I have this in my SC, it will be seriously powerful in the buggy. Going bigger and 4s would be a mistake I feel, since the chassis wasn't designed to carry that kind of weight in electronics. I think you'll find this combo more than satisfies, my SCRT-10 is a screaming beast on a 16t pinion on 3s packs with this. Make sure you get the 5mm shaft version to avoid pinion issues. http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/cPath/1_221_911_1949/products_id/210544/n/Castle-Creations-Mamba-Max-Pro-SCT-1-10-Scale-Brushless-Combo-w-Neu-Castle-1410-3800kV
This is really an 1/8th scale, the wheelbase is longer than my Vorza. The width is the same and the weight will be on par with an 1/8th buggy. The Vorza comes with the MMM which I run on 4s, some run 6s but I don't see the need there. This should be a good 4s basher for me. I wouldn't pick the 1410 for temp reasons as I can warm up the MMM 2200 pretty good but it may work for others if your not pushing it as hard. Different strokes for different folks, it's all good

If your gonna drop that much coin for a roller no sense in scrimping on the power IMO....

RE: HPI Vorza Flux HP difference ? Advice are more then welcome ;)
There's a large difference in diff ratios between these two, Slash is 2.85 and the Vorza is 4.30. With your current Vorza setup your top speed should be around 50, switching to a 21/44 pin/spur will get into the mid 60s..... You didn't mention what your batteries were other than 6s, you definitely need some high end lipos to get the power and speed you should have otherwise they will be the limiting factor....
