RE: marketplace virus alert
It's a known issue with AVG. Google it. I used Google chrome, and it works 50% of the time. I turned off link scanner in AVG and can get in.

Philip Noel has plans for a .91 size ducted fan and turbine Mirage 2000 c/d. He no longer sells them on his site. I think Replikit picked up the rights. I have a set of plans and they are very nice CAD drawn plans. You could probably elarge them to get whatever size you want. http://www.replikit.com/replikit2010/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=276&category_id=134&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=1

RE: Making a one-off custom tank
Correct me if I am wrong, but i was under the impression the Kevlar is to improve the burst resistance of the tank in a crash. I have seen many tanks that are just made of fiberglass so I wonder if this is really necessary. I have seen a couple videos of guys laying glider wings with Kevlar and they treated it just like fiberglass, no real special procedure.

RE: KingTech K-80
Just started up a "new" K80E. Actually it is serial no. 108 made in 2009. Has the original Kingtech pump. Fired up the first time and stabilized at 45000 rpm. Flawless. Changed the parameters to the Gaspar settings to see what effect it had. The result was a "softer" start, but a little more flames during the ramp up. Believe it or not, got the engine off of a guy on Ebay for under a grand...N.I.B. Looking forward to mounting it in my Sprint.
ORIGINAL: hooker53 If you like to build, I don't think you are going to beat a Jet mach sport or super sport.
If this is your first wood kit I highly recommend the Reaction 54. I have both a Super Sport and a Reaction 54 kit. In my humble opinion, the Super Sport wins for looks, but in terms of ease of building, quality of instructions and overall weight, the Reaction wins hands down.

RE: Anyone anything about this plane?
The Boxer series was all developed from the Cursor. It was designed by Gus Ozols and basically used the Cursor wing and tail and an all balsa box fuselage, hence the name "Boxer". There were many versions and I have a 4 different sets of plans (45,60,90,1.20) with either a built up wing or foam core wings/tail. They were nice flying planes and I have read that some used them to compete in the lower classes. There is a Boxer for sale in the marketplace. I wasn't aware they made a fiberglass fuse. You might have a Cursor fuse.

RE: Warning ON Graupner USA HOTT SYSTEMS
ORIGINAL: Julez Hi! Concerning the myth about the US Hott system having a lower output power than EU versions, I would not waste my time with hearsay information. Why not look at the actual FCC test report? The FCC ID is ''ZKZ-MX-16-20A''. Search here: https://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/reports/GenericSearch.cfm On page 24 of the summary, one can clearly read that the output power is >20dbm, which conveniently translates to 100mW. This is the maximum level allowed in the EU as well, meaning there in no chance whatsoever that the US version is weaker.
Word of Caution STAY AWAY FROM GRAUPNER USA
How do you know that HOTT is to blame for your crash, and not some failure elsewhere? How were your failsafe settings? Did failsafe engage upon the loss of contact? I mean, battery, BEC or switch failures are not completely unheard of. Failures like these are, according to the manufacturer, responsible for 100% of all crashes involving XPS , just to name one example. So, where in the proof that Hott is to blame? How do you rule out the possibilitiy that any other component failed? Cheers, Julez
Why are you so sure it WASN't the radio? There certainly are ISSUES with this system. I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. I had never really considered a Graupner System so it wouldn't affect me, but thanks for the warning either way.

RE: Printing PDF files
My local Staples prints 36" engineering prints (36x60) for about $5. Anything bigger and they charge $ 0.50 sq/ft. Most of the time you can convince them to charge you for two engineering prints if the plan is really big. Just my $.02.

RE: The ARF Paradox !!
I guess with that attitude you weren't someone who went out and looked for help. That which isn't intrinsic can be learned from someone with more experience. Let someone else make the mistakes and learn from them. Some people are fortunate to have help near by. I totaled several helis before I "got it" and I was always quick to offer help. That was trial and error, wouldn't dream of doing that with turbines...I'd be in the poorhouse. I am sure Jack's comments are merely his observations, which he is entitled to. You are also entitled to your comments, but I don't see how they offer any constructive criticism.
