RE: GROUP BUILD - Top Flite Giant Scale F4U Corsair
I built mine according to plan, covered with monocote,no gear doors or anything fancy. I have a DLE 55 and she flies fine, not ballistic speed but good enough, I did have to add quite a bit of weight upfront to cg. It is one of my most tamest birds to fly and land.

RE: NEW Top Flight P-40??? 1/5 scale
If you are flying and see your tail wheel down and the mains up its belly landing time. The robart tail wheel needs air to hold up and air to hold down. I might put a servo to operate my tail this time around. I lost my p-40 due to the aileron wire pulled out!

RE: NEW Top Flight P-40??? 1/5 scale
I had the same problem, after two belly landings I changed out the robart tailwheel and put the stock non retracting one. What is happening is the tailwheel is getting hung up and leaking all the air out, that why it was down. You got to buy some small springs to keep it straight going up so it doesn't catch on anything leaking all the air out. Not worth chancing bellylandings and scraping your cowel and breaking a prop!

They are just jacking up the shipping price to put more money in thier pockets. Also my cockpit had a few pieces broken off and it had dust on it and smelled like smoke. So obviously it was a display or one they had open sitting somewhere. Sad pay for something new and they send me a opened display one.

1/6 scale WW2 pilots coming soon! Need input from you guys!
[size=2]Yes you heard right, i am currently sculpting a fullbodied 1/6 scale pilot. I got tired of looking at some of those dorky looking ones in the store that were too big or too small. So guys help me out, do you want them in hard hollow resin or latex filled w soft foam, or just latex? These guys will fit perfectly in the Topflite 1/6 scale seats. I need your input. Pics coming soon! heres a pic of the torsositting in a topflite .60 p-40 seat

RE: CMPro F4u Corsair
I had one of those planes and she flew forever w a 26.cc gasser up front but i sold her. If yours has changed that many hands and still in that shape then shes worth giving an overhau and shows you how good they arel!!! Ive always liked the CMP birds and its a shame they are no longer available.

RE: 1/6 scale WW2 pilots coming soon! Need input from you guys!
Yup 1/5 scale pilots as well, i have a few 1/5 scale planes and am in need of pilots. If you guys can, send me some pics of pilots to sculpt. I already have a .60 pilot just about done, and will be offering those up for whoever wants em. My local hobby store said they will put them in their store as they have seen my work.

RE: 1/6 scale WW2 pilots coming soon! Need input from you guys!
Yea my mistake, I'm making .60 size full bodied detailed pilots first, then on to the bigger guys! Latex filled w soft foam and a wire armature inside would be awesome because you could pose them, Remember those gumby figures we used play with.

Yea resin is the easiest to do, I thought a soft foam filled latex would be nice as well.

RE: BEST 50cc CHINA ENGINE RIGHT NOW??
I have a RCG 50cc brand new rear carb engine i got in a trade. It has given me 0 problems, it starts right up everytime. I have it in my Skyshark p-40 and everyone says man that engine sounds good and pulls like crazy, "what is it?" When i tell them they are shocked. I have a DLE 55 in my Topflite GS Corsair and also a superb running engine. I have never owned a DA but people at the field who do are starting to turn to the DLE's because of the proven performance where im at.

RE: Dx8 still has problems
I have had my DX8 for a month now and not a single issue. Last week i saw 2-planes go down one w a newer JR radio and the other Futaba and i watched them go down so i know it wasnt dumb thumb. Now it happens to them all, so pointing out Spektrum is not right. All my planes are always checked over before and after flight. So many planes ive seen go down because of a failing clevis, screw, or just setup wrong. I only use 6v in my planes and a load test on batteries is always part of my preflite check whether its the first flight of the day or the second etc. Now lets face it sometimes a lemon might get out there as with all brands and recalls. When the DX8 first came out i waited till all the bugs were corrected because i knew there would be some. Hitec had their bugs and so did JR and futaba. Sounds to me like most of the brownouts were electrical issue(low voltage) Sure you had the plane for years but did you check or change the battery? There could be problems w 2.4 that we dont even know about.

RE: spektrum vs JR
I fly only warbirds .60 and up to 50cc size. I was tempted to buy the new DX8 when it first came out but decided not to until all the bugs were worked out. Sure enough there were bugs in the beginning, just like JR, futaba and hitec. So last month i bough the DX8 with the free rx deal and started using it right away. I have read the bullitens and instructions on mounting the rx, and updating the radio and did so. I have not had any brown outs or glitches. Last weekend 2 friends lost their planes and were on the new futaba radios, one claimed the radio and i believe as i watched the plane go down, the other dumb thumb. So it happens all the way around. Batteries are always in a preflight check at my field. So whether it be Spektrum,JR, Futaba, Hitec,Airtronics ive watched planes go down w them all. Maybe whether conditions, radio interference who knows, Something can probably effect one while it doesnt another who knows for sure, only the manufacter.

Flew today, excellent!!! Dle 55 pulled her along just fine, lift off a lot sooner than expected. Tracked awesome c/g at 5.5 from the leading edge. Landing was a hop hop hop then on its nose. Just a scratch under the chin. Very pleased other than my nerves getting the best of me on the landing!
