RE: Upgrade to SSD now!
ORIGINAL: collector1231
ORIGINAL: jkdv8 Is there a trick for installing one in a ps3? Any downside in doing so?
Its not possible. If you can, that's awesome. Back to original post, lucky! I have a 1 TB drive (possbily some of the first made in 2007) and it is slow. I need a new computer, I plan to build one.
Yes, it's possible. You won't see HUGE drops in loading times, because the PS3 slim has SATA1.5, which is a bottle neck... but it's definitely a noticeable difference. There are several reports of 40% drops in loading times as well as install times. Remember, the PS3 needs to format the new drive, so you won't be able transfer your date to the new one.

Christ... that chassis has seen hell. I would order another, they're not that expensive, especially if you find it on ebay.

Not much more damage you can do... run her lean and fast until it dies, then just buy another motor.

RE: Gas vs Nitro thoughts & etc
ORIGINAL: savagecommander a gas engine this small would have no point. pound for pound a nitro of the same size would have more power. not to mention good luck finding an affordable ignition small enough.
Ignition is not the problem, NGH has a 9cc gasoline burning engine which, apparently, runs great. It's also $165.

RE: Gas vs Nitro thoughts & etc
ORIGINAL: Foxy I think the extremely narrow powerband of such a small gas engine will make it very limited in application. I guess it depends what it revs to, do we have that info yet? 4 speed anyone? lol
I'm thinking the same thing. Gasoline burning engines also run a lot hotter than nitro engines, proper cooling will be difficult without a fan, especially under the body. Something like this would better be suited for a two speed or three speed model. Then again, Mac made a fantastic 6cc gas burning engine for Compagnucci, which is comparable in power to a slightly smaller nitro. Either way, I highly doubt this engine will ever make it to production, and if it does, it will be a very expensive flop. Last I heard, the project was shelved.

It's not worth very much. May bring $75 on ebay.

RE: HSN came out of carb: IMPORTANT FOLLOW-UP
See that aluminum cap? Unscrew and move it to where the needle was. Now thread the needle into the top hole. Congratulations! It's fixed, and you can access the needle without removing the body. I have a feeling something stripped, the aluminum cap threads in deeper, so it should be able to grab what's left of the threads.

RE: firestorm diff go boom
ORIGINAL: SyCo_VeNoM
ORIGINAL: The_Shark i have a feeling this is a issue with these, considering i was at the hobby shop when someone came in with a firestorm, they replaced the diff 4 times now.
that person could always be landing from jumps at full throttle which would do it ;)
Or spinning donuts. I cringe every time I see someone running a Revo or something full tilt in tight circles, with the inside from wheel ballooned out to about 12". Poor diffs.

RE: Aluminum Clutch Shoes
Yes, the shims are somewhat required. The springs will press the shoes into the flywheel at a slight angle, and they'll probably start sticking after a while. Right now, you're probably fine, but I would definitely install them. Clutches like this require maintenance occasionally. The shoes will eventually glaze, which can cause them to overheat and wear abnormally fast. To service, just pop off the flywheel, clean them up a bit, then scuff the shoes with some emery cloth or very fine sandpaper, like 300 grit, just to knock the glaze off.

RE: trade? what is it worth?
What condition/chassis/version? There are three different chassis, the tub, the pan, and the GT2. There are several different versions, Team, Factory Team, RTR, GT+, Blue Chassis tub, etc. Pictures would really help. Some aren't worth very much, some are. Certain GTs in good/restored condition are worth substantially more than those in well used condition.

RE: No spark '80 Kawasaki 440 twin
You really can't sync diaphragm carbs by ear, you need a specialized sync tool, which has a flow gauge for each carb. Doing it by ear will, usually, mess them up worse than what they were before. It's not impossible, but it's very very difficult.

HPI used to make belted 21mm touring car tires, you can still find them on ebay, but the rims are extremely hard to find.

You may want to get the carbs synced. Most places will do it for $50 on twin carb bikes.

Alright. I'm tiny, really tiny, expensive, and manufactured by a company that has been in the hobby for quite some time. I have a very small, but die hard following. My aftermarket parts are quite expensive.

RE: Issues with idle
ORIGINAL: JohnP2 As soon as I started to take off the clutch bell...I found the issue (what I suspected). I wanted to rule out throttle settings first, of course. Below is my problem. ;-) Either that or the fact I put the heat gun on the clutch bell for three minutes to loosen the clutch bell screw's loctite snapped the spring....but based on the symptoms don't see how that can be it. Now I have an excuse to throw on the M2C three-shoe clutch I have lying around. ;-)
I'm surprised it took this long for your clutch spring to break... mine broke after about 8 tanks.

Duratrax Micro Street Force... a pretty blatant copy of the Micro RS4. Single belt kinda narrowed it down by far, I only know of a couple other single belt cars, and they're very uncommon.

I had an LTD 440 a long time ago. It was a great little bike. Have you checked for power to the coil? Download the service manual (you can find them everywhere online) and dig into the ignition trouble shooting chapter. You will need a multi-meter.

RE: Spool in the rear of Tourign car?
You will DESTROY belted rubber tires with a spool in the back, it will also do nothing but understeer into corners at low speeds, and oversteer under power. You need a diff in the back if you're not drifting with it.
