RE: Fans of the Classic Pattern Get-Together we need your help!!
That is where I learned to fly RC. Phil Spangenberger was the Pres. back then, and he taught me to fly. Oxnard in general is really being built up. All of the farmland is being sold to developers. I am not surprised the University would want to eventually take over the RC site. It was and is, a beautiful field.

RE: New Griffin by Xtreme Composite
What the Extreme Flight Vanquish represented in terms of absolute low price point, this plane may just do the same, but in terms of absolute quality for the dollar. Could be a ground breaker!

This is something kit cutters should be watching. If people are willing to spend $425 on an old 40 pattern kit-there HAS to be a demand out there.

What is it about the Bootlegger that seems to require a glass fuselage. It doesn't look much different than a Curare, Compensator, etc., build wise.

RE: Extreme Composite Pegasus
ORIGINAL: 2Sunny
ORIGINAL: gaRCfield Pretty plane, Joe! Congrats, and good luck with it. And of course someone needs to ask: what's she weigh?
Thanks Joe! I see you're showing your location as Ohio. Are you out of school and working now? The Pegasus weighs 8 lbs 1 oz. (3657g) with the Eneloop Rx battery backup and the Jim O 2s tap + regulator BEC. Plenty of available weight for even the heaviest battery. Joe
I hate to say it, but I almost don't believe it. I have never heard of a 8 lbs. 2 meter ship. I can't believe you have a 2M that 3 pounds lighter than average. Your plane is 3 lbs lighter than: CPLR's ship, Chip Hyde, Andrew Jesky. That is beyond awesome. What in the world does this thing fly like? You gotta out somenting on YouTube bro! Think about it, your plane weighs the same as a lot of 60 powered classic pattern ships!!

Guys, how come you never see the Saito 150 in Pattern, even for practice. You don't even see them on,say Venus II's, Focus's etc. They are very reliable.

I don't want to swell your head Jeff but, it is not often we get an honest to goodness, actual furball, telephone booth, knife fighting, yank and bank, fighter pilot who is a bonafide F3A man. Do you have an opinion about the F22 Raptor?

RE: Lightning Build
Hi Jeff, First off I want to say thank you for your great effort. I would like a cad file of your plane if that is possible. If you like my email address, I would be more than happy to forward it to you. Another question, what is it REALLY like to pilot a F-16. Do you mostly do air to ground, or do you primarily focus on ACM's. Can you really take 9 g's?

RE: Turbocad Plat Pro 16 VS Turbocad Plat Pro 18
Going to weigh in here. While Turbocad is fine, I strongly feel Draftsight is MUCH better and it is free!! Draftsight is from the Catia\Solidworks group, and they apppear to know what they are doing. There is a good chance that once you download and start using it,you might just forget about Turbocad. "BMatthews" is right. The issue of 3D gets a whole lot more complicated as to use and cost. I would advise you to stick to 2D cad and model aviation-master the basics, and then move on from there. Draftsight is very "Autocad like",(Turbocad isn't) and this will put you in very good position, if you decide to move up later on. http://www.3ds.com/products/draftsight/overview/

RE: Carden Cuda Build
ORIGINAL: davidgeorge212
ORIGINAL: proparc What would the Saito equivalent in size be to a DA50 for the Cuda. Or, if you were going to put a Saito instead of a DA50, what size would you use. P. S. I just looked up the Saito engine chart, and there is no single cylinder Saito large enough to pull the Cuda.
Saito does make a 57cc twin cylinder gasoline engine
