RE: New Aquisition
Well the parcel arrived today and it's even better than the picture supplied by the seller(Erwin). I couldn't be more pleased. It is well worth more than I paid for it, plus he threw in about another $30.00 worth of goodies. I added an mg42 to the gun mount, it really sets it off. I may cover the DAK palm on the hood of the sidecar as I'm not sure if any of the motorcycle and sidecars made it back to Italy. I do know that some DAK troops did fight along side the HG Inf Batallions and the 15th pzgrens. Here are a few pics of this great buy. !!!NOTE: I Take No Credit For The Painting and the Figures!!!! New Aquisition
I just purchased this great 1/6th 21C DKW500cc motorcycle with sidecar with 2 figures. Figures are DML bashed figures. Great price as well just $50.00 for all. I saw an rc version of a 1/6th motorcycle and sidecar has me thinking.... be a good project for a conversion to rc.

RE: RC Dynasty HL Tiger metal upgrade version ?
If you compare rc dynasty price plus the shipping it comes out to approximately the same price as the mato price that includes the shipping. Mato's listed price includes the shipping. Rc dynasty adds sound like a great deal till you compare to the mato price

Hey BM well I'm getting another Stuart this weekend. I sold my rc one back in June. Wasn't a planned sale but a guy asked me how much I wanted for my rc stuart and jokingly I said 500$ and he handed over the cash. I got this new stuart in trade for a gi joe jeep trailer and 3 cdn bashed figures

RE: My 1/6th Scratchbuilt SdKfz251D a WIP
Update: The factory workers have been hard at work this afternoon. They have removed the cardstaock templates and replaced them with styrene. After the glue had set they went to work sanding the seams, tomorrow they will fill the seams. Here are the pics of their labor Here are a couple with the 1/18th scale 251 beside the 1/6th one. The 1/6th halftrack is 3 times as large. When scaleing I multiplied all the measurements by a factor of 3 or multiplied the 1/18th measurement by 18 then divided by 6 which is the same as useing 3 as the multiplier

RE: My 1/6th Scratchbuilt SdKfz251D a WIP
Update: The work continues on the halftrack. I have the upper hull sections cut out and taped in place. I have the cardstock templates for the front vision section, top of the engine compartment and front of the engine compartment taped in place to test the fit. Old record cases do come in handy for making templates. I hope to cut and fit the cardstock pieces from styrene today to the upper hull section. It's really starting to take shape and the size is gigantic compared to the 1/18th scale model I used to aid in this build. As always comments are welcomed. Here are the latest pics

RE: My 1/6th Scratchbuilt SdKfz251D a WIP
Update: Well the halftrack is progressing slowly. Have assembled the track, added the front axel assembly(not glued in yet), worked up the engine compartment sides, and the lower hull sides and rear panel. The internal braces are just temporarily tack glued in place

My 1/6th Scratchbuilt SdKfz251D a WIP
Well you could say Santa came early this year. A good friend I met on the SAG forum, Ron(sgtschultzII) has sent me the running gear, track, front end, and other parts from a 1/6th SdKfz251. So I've started to scratchbuild a SdKfz251D. I have a 1/18th scale 251D halftrack and I am useing it for my dimensions, and angles, etc. Here are the first set of pics of the halftrack under construction. Comments are welcomed.... Very nice a great project... love the machineing work. I just started another German halftrack. A friend gave me the complete running gear and front end for a Rolling Thunder Sdkfz251 so going to scratchbuild the reat of the halftrack. Not sure yet if I'm going to RC it or not yet.

RE: has anyone used one of these ESC's?
A fellow rc'er sent me one of these and it works great all be it I haven't tried to use the other 2 channels on it, as I only had a 2 channel transmitter. I used the transmitter from my rc car and swapped out the receiver crystal from the car's receiver. I did open it up and replace the thin motor wires for heavier leads.

RE: Tiger I stripped threads
When I strip out threads I simply put some cyano in the screw hole and let it cure. Just a small amount don't fill the hole. When the cyano has set re-thread the screw into the hole. If badly stripped out I put some 5 minute expoxy in the hole then apply some mold release to the screw threads or baby oil then before the expoxy cures I put the screw back into the hole and let the epoxy cure. The oil or mold release prevents the epoxy from sticking to the screw. Loctite used to sell a thread repair compound. You put the resin or epoxy from the kit into the hole and applied the supplied thread coating compound to the screw or bolt and threaded it into the hole, when set you simply undid the screw and wiped off the compound.
