RE: Flaps with the futaba 14mz
Use the subtrim for each channel to set the middle position. Or you can set the radio on the middle position. Adjust your linkage for the correct flap position and then use the ATV to adjust your landing and up flap position.

RE: 12FG and Flaps
ORIGINAL: phjoker This how I did mine on My Flash I have the 12 FGA also I used switch SA ...3 position switch up is normal.. middle is take off flaps.. and down is landing flaps. This is what I did. I centered the servo arm at 90* installed the linkage. Turn on radio and go to MODEL menu on the right side FLAP SETTING go into it now adjust the up throw and down throw . Use the Offset to adjust the 2nd flap position. I did realize when I adjusted the off set I had to go back and adjust the up throw again. I also had to make my linkage longer to get more throw but once you have the linkage length for the one side make the second side the same. THATS IT. No need to adjust end points or use a mix. I didn't have to use the AFR for the Flaps at all. Hope that Helps
I do about the same as this. But I use the subtrim (for each channel) to fine tune the middle switch position (take off flap) and ATV(for each channel) to set the up and land flap position. In the ATV screen for each channel you can adjust the servo speed. One rule of thumb with Futaba Always use ATV to Set the MAX throw you want out of each Channel(servo) ie ail OR ail2 seperate USE AFR if you want to change the throw of the entire FUNCTION. ie ail AND ail 2 together

RE: VEGAS! Who's going????
The Red shirt isn't the problem. The shirt doesn't make the man. It is the person(s) wearing the shirt that can be the problem. I know plenty of GREAT people that wear that Red shirt and they represent the company well. (ie Joe Mcbride, Kenny McSpadden, Kent Nogy)

RE: Tool to use to twist wire on fuel line
ORIGINAL: rjbob
ORIGINAL: marc s Just make one, the problem I find with the pliers type is they are not easy to get into spaces when you want to security wire after installing something, so grab a length of K&S steel rod, around 4-5mm in diameter and long enough to hold in your hand so a few inches extends past your grip. File a flat at one end by filing both sides until its about 1mm or so thick, drill a hole in the end suitably large to accept two pieces of your chosen security wire. To use (once wrapped round tube) take one end of wire and pass through hole, then take the other end and pass through hole in opposite direction, pull wires until head of tool is an inch or so away from tube to be secured and rotate rod in one direction, the wire will twist into a progressively tighter grip. Once done snip off and remove two ends from tool - done. Never fails and so simple to use. marcs
Now that is clever. I'm going to tell everyone around here that I thought of it!
Bob, That is a great idea thanks![:D]

Does his name sound like Saul Ragman? The sad thing is this will probably ruin Sin City Jets. If the non BVM/JR team pilots show up it will be extremely uncomfortable. If they don't show the three BVM/JR reps will have lots of free air to fly in.

RE: My Apologies
If this is what they mean, what does it have to do with my jet rally? I understand why they take the cheap shot at David Shulman. He is not on the team anymore and he had a mishap. It is an easy (but cheap) shot to take, and probably applauded by BV (after reading what he posted on his site). Why bash the other pilots that were there? There were 3 turbines that did not land on the runway at the meet, all of them were engine shut downs. All the planes are repairable. That seems like a safe event. There weren't any destroyed aircraft at this event.
ORIGINAL: Hugh Heffner In all seriousness, there are two sides to this story. Bags and Justin were showing some serious disrespect to the guys at the Arizona event, and the public name calling is just stupid. But, if you read between the lines, then you also know what brought up this animosity in the first place. There are a breed of flyers who have more money than flying skills, and they do represent a very dangerous aspect of our hobby. I will not mention any names here, because we all probably know someone who matches the description. A majority of us have learned to fly jets the hard way. We started with prop planes, got into ducted fans, got better and better at flying and transitioned into turbines. We have one or two jets that we meticiously maintain and make sure that they are in top notch condition to fly. Crashing a jet is a major setback both in hours spend rebuilding and money lost, so we make damn sure that we are on top of our game, both with flying skills and maintenance. But then we have the new guys with money to burn. They don't have to learn to build or even do a field repair, so they are pretty much clueless of the inner workings of the jets. Most of them have ''on staff'' builders and repair guys, and the common denominator with this group is that they went from a Boomerang or similar trainer to heavy metal, big block jets in no time flat. And many of them would not be able to hit the runway 5 landings in a row. I know several guys who would not be able to perform 10 back to back flights without their pit crew being there to fix the jet in between flights. We all break stuff, make bad landings or stuff a plane now or then. But, some pilots would do themselves and the rest of us a huge favor by leaving their trophy planes at home and learn how to fly with something that matches their skill level. There is no shame in flying a Boomerang or a Bobcat. Granted, they won't win the awards for best this or that, but they will make them a much safer pilot after 300 - 500 sucessful flights. This is probably where the misguided attack came from in case of these two BVM reps. Personally I think this could have been done in a much more civil way. Maybe starting a thread about the issue without calling out people and have a debate about it.
