the pipe going to the muffler on the 220 is going to be PLENTY hot to easly burn the smoke oil.. I had a 180 that I tapped the mid pipe on and jb welded in a nipple and that was that.. worked great.. but it you want, just run 30% heli fuel.. bam instant smoke system..

putting the GP cap 580 on a DIET!!
hey guys, I am thinking of redoing the GP cap 580 as light as humanly possible.. what do you think can be done to the plane to pull some weight out?? 1. the fuse is fully sheeted with pretty thick balsa and has ply formers on the inside ( I want to route all the spare balsa out ) 2. the aileron is fully sheet and stupid stiff, so my plan is to run 1 7955 on the outboard location ( pretty close to the surface center ) 3. I am running a hoss of a 3w80 xi CS on the plane.. it has a straight pipe on it right now un-goddly effin loud ( its what the original had to work with ).. its not up to the task of tossing the 30# plane around.. somehow someway I am going to run a tuned pipe on the setup.. it already has carbon stab and wing tubes and I am putting carbon gear on it right now.. any other DIET junkies out there that can throw out some good ideas BRING EM ON!!!!!!!!!! thanks jessie

RE: Should Hitec replace planes from lock outs
maybe we should just do everything backwards and see if it works.. example: me and a buddy both have new hitec radios (a9) and o9 rx's I was in a rush to fly to fly my new RC GUYS decathlon, and I just crammed stuff in my plane.. servo's, wires, ignition mod, batts, switches, leads.. hooked up the throttle and choke with 4/40 all thread and METAL ends and a metal servo arms.. fired the engine up, range check, boom I'm off to flyin.. and I fly the junk out of this plane THIS SETUP IS STILL FLYING "" PERFECTLY "" for more than 25-30 gallons of fuel ( yes I fly that much ) I have cleaned things up a little MY BUDDY ON THE OTHER HAND takes two weeks building this plane ( EF E-300 ) all the goodies, da60 on a pipe, 7950's, smarty EQ, lion batts bigger than what I have in my 40%er yadda yadda takes all the precautions of the so called internet RC gurus "" have to do or your plane will burst into flames from a brown-lock-rf block-metal-battery-ignition out crash "" advice and guess what he plants his shiny new plane one the first lap of his maiden.. some times you just have bad luck, sometimes it doesnt matter what you do or how hard you try to avoid something... something bad will come out.. I think we have gone way over board on the stuff we use in these planes these days.. oh blah blah gotta have 10,000,000 ounce servo's and 13 batteries going to my powerbox with 6 recievers and da-dle-3dub-dla-eme 4000cc engine in my 30cc extra sorry for your lose man, it really does suck..

RE: OS 55ax fuel economy problem?
ORIGINAL: hsukaria Somebody mentioned it already, but the Type F glow plug is hot, meant for 4-strokes. It may be that you have tuned the engine extra rich and not realilzing it. I would put an OS #8 plug and re-tune it.
you nailed it buddy, running an F plug on a 2C is wrong wrong wrong, that plug has very robust coil that is built to stay hot, while the 4c engines take quite awhile to to fire again unlike a 2c.. so the plug is really eating up your fuel to compensate for it swap to a #8 plug and watch how drasticly the engine will change because of being grossly RICH and it was stated earlier try and run a 12.25x3.75 apc prop, those are great for profile and funfly planes ( it really calms that engine down while harriering, rolling H, and hovers..) good luck RACE

RE: Seagull Extra 260 .90 ARF
I just finished building one of these for a customer, the build is very straight forward.. it is a well built ( like a tank to be honest ) the covering is good, hardware is great for a plane this cheap (carbon pushrods) comes with a spinner and motor mount. the plane was built with hitec 425bb servo's and a single 2300mah 6.0v RX pack the engine used was an evolution 1.00 (dont use the stock tank plumbing it is to small a diameter for a gas guzzler and your engine will never richen up)so use brass fuel tank rods the performance with the evo was outstanding on this plane. I used a 16x4w APC prop the only gripe I had was, the plane did build a little heavy for a plane this size and the balance was a big factor. with the evo mounted to the nose I had to place the RX pack behind the canopy in a very small space just to get it to balance some what.. and that was using the stock pull pull location( maybe I shoud have modified a push pull in the tail ) I think you will be happy with the plane, if you do purchase it.. any other questions you have let me know, I would be happy to help, along with pics of the build RACE

would you come race at my new track in tulsa oklahoma
Ok guys here's the deal. I am a stay at home dad and I need something to do.. so I was going to start a new rc race track at my house ( I live right off highway 88 and 412 in Inola, ok 25 east of tulsa ) there will be restrooms, full power(ac/dc), lighting for night races, FULL concessions(hambugers, hot-dogs, candy, drinks, you name it) I have a good size shop, I will set tables up for guys needing extra light, if you break something.. I will try my best to cater to all, weather it be a mini-t or baja/fg the track will be groomed almost daily and watered on race days ( I like to play in the dirt ) the track will change up quite a bit and will not be stupidly built just to break parts( I will have multiple lines for beginners or expert guys) I have been doing alot of track research and I GUARANTEE it will the best track in oklahoma (becasue I have time to dedicate to it) I will have fully benched pits and nice race tower for drivers I am working on getting transponders and a good system working, so you can actually have a well programmed and put together race season so if you guys are interested please drop me a line or a suggestion ( I fly giant scale planes and I have been out of the RC racing for awhile )because I am doing this for you guys, not myself.. I am planning on doing this like quick fast and in a hurry ( sorry I should have done it a few months ago) oh and I hate BS drama, so that will need to be left at home.. there will NO CLUB POLITICS, NO CRAZY RULES, just run as long as you want when ever you want and this will also be a family friendly area (this will be used to get young ones into racing and the hobby as well ) so NO FIGHTING, unless I can youtube it just kidding.. drinking will be allowed, BUT it will be done respectfully and you will not drink and race SORRY and remember this track is at my home, so I will expect the place to be clean when you pack up for the night( I will provide trash cans in many area's ) thanks very much jessie

RE: preping for smoke
I got a roll of clear film and covered the bottom of stabs and frame just to keep soaking danger to a minimum ( i had smoke ruin a 33% gp extra 330l).. it has been covered but superdri wont smell, but home mixes will ( some way more than others) just play at it I tied my plane up and ran it on the ground ( i know big no-no) to set-up the system, I used a tme smart smoker.. but I only use my smoke for shows or really big crowds.. normal flying not so much the size of your smoke tank will vary, I usually run the same size tank as my main fuel tank or bigger, you will be really surprised at how fast you can run the smoke out good luck on your smoke endeavor RACE

RE: How Long Will It Take To Learn ?
I had to learn real quick on the little funtana I started 3d'ing with, I kept my mind on the tx and just watched the plane.. I soon figured out that if I kept pressure on the rudder one way or the other and it went to drop a wing when it started rolling, I would just pop the rudder the other way. after about 20 flights of just hovering, it all went away and I just do it with out thinking.. just fly alot of rudder also like, burn some fuel on the KE and roll the plane a few times, then stop it where ever and fly it out on the edge, your brain will just do it after a little time ( thats how I figured out the rolling harrier stick stir ) or pull into an upline and point the belly to you and try like hell to keep it vertical and wings flat after a while you will be one with the TR and everything else will just fall together RACE
ORIGINAL: RCKen It is illegal in the US for the end user to change the crystals in the transmitter. It must be done by a licensed repair facility that is capable of verifying and adjusting the final output of the radio once the change is made. It is legal for the end user to change the crystals in a receiver without sending in, but not the transmitter.
