2 trucks 2 fuels argh I want 1 fuel
Hi all, I have a RC10GT running on Byron 20% race formula and then I have a Traxxas S-Maxx running on Traxxas 20% Top Fuel. I know that if I decided to change fuels on one or both the trucks I will have to re-tune which really isnt a big deal to me since I feel confident that I can do that since I have tuned and re-tuned them both. My questions are >>> The Byron has a 16% lubrication(oil content), and I have no idea what the oil content is in the Traxxas Top Fuel 20%, but if I find a fuel that has the same oil content will re-tuning be minimal? I like both fuels but locally I can only buy Traxxas by the quart($10) and I have to drive about 1hr for the Byron....or any other brand I know everyone wants to know which fuel to run in every motor but does one brand of fuel run better at lower temps than higher?? I wonder this since my RC10GT has the AE.15 running at about 225* and the S-Maxx has the Traxxas 2.5 engine running around 265* P.S. I do plan to put a O.S. .12 in my RC10GT the CV-RX(s)

mounting tires for a RC10GT
I just got my Proline M3 Edge tires....I notice that there is a different tread between each side of the tire....one side has a V knothed tread and the other side just has 2 angled treads...I am wondering if it matters how they are mounted onto the rim or do I have to put the V knotch groove on the inside or outside of tire(away from Truck) Thanks

RE: recommendations for a carpet runner
THanks for everyones help. My LHS recommends the mini t as well for a indoor truck....they actually recommend it on small dirt tracks. At this point there is no way I will put a brushless motor into any truck I get him, since he is only 5yrs old. Main reason to get a RTR kit actually. and for only like $140 with everything including a 1100mAh NIMH battery and charger aint to bad IMO.

recommendations for a carpet runner
I am starting to look around for an electric powered 1/18 scale truck. It will be for my 5yr old son. I just want one that will do pretty good just running around the house and the jumps we make for it. I plan to get him a RTR setup and I want it to have a ESC not a MSC. I have looked online and found ones like the mini T, rc1018t, rc10t4, but he like the stadium truck look the most.....4WD really isnt any concern so a 2WD will be fine. I myself drive a RC10GT and a Stadium Maxx Thanks for the direction and links are always welcomed.

RE: RC10GT warm engine needs throttle
I re-set mine back to the factory suggested settings and I have gone from there......My temp is currently running around 215-235 I am seem to have an issue with the low end since making adjustments.... The truck has been starting but only if I keep the low end richer than I think it needs to be...butit is still fast...I might take it down to the LHS next weekend and let them set it up for me.

RC10GT warm engine needs throttle
Okay question......(RC10GT Plus RTR) If I am out bashing around....and I shut down, regardless of wether i run out of fuel or i shut it down... I usually have to squezze the throttle to get it to start again. What setting do I have set wrong if any? I cant honestly say how many pulls it takes to get a cold engine going but I feel safe saying 10-15 pulls.....but once it it warmed up it is. I have my idle set to where it idles as high as it can without moving...however I do have thetrim on my TX set at about 1/4 way from center to the back of the tx? Thanks for the help

mydartswinger >>> THanks for clearifing it and summing it up. Yeah See I felt I would do thread of what I found so that others might be helped. See 95% of the time you only see what folks say about what they own, or what they have been told or heard in passing. I decided that I would give my experience to others so that it might help them. I only stayed away from the MT's becuase I did more research on the ST's and barely any on the buggies.

Newbie helps Newbie!! So you want a nitro ST??
Newbie helping Newbie this should be good. Okay first I want to say that this must be considered my opinion, which I came to, by way of reading, posting questions, watching videos, going to LHS and to a couple fields. Hopefully this can remain at the top of the forum so that people can give there OPINIONS about what I posted or add information they feel should have been mentioned....I must also mention that<<<This is not a debate thread.>>> purely my opinion from my research. You first must decide a few things before you can really go any further. 1)Engine type> Electric or Nitro each has the debates as to which is better 2)Truck type> Monster Truck, Stadium truck, Buggy 3)Driving type>Racing, Backyard Bashing 4)The hardest decision>Durability, Speed, Handling 5)Pull start, electric start If you have decided to go electric then going to the electric forum is probably best. From here out OOB stands for Out Of Box 1) this will be short. I decided that I wanted to go Nitro because I wanted the high end speed, and just liked the performance. Nitro does have a number of down falls that electric doesn't....Electric Plug and Play simple. Motor replacement $20-$130(Brushless), replacement parts about the same in price as nitro. Nitro trucks not so plug and play, Why? break-in period of the motor...motor adjustments needed from get go, adjustments if you change fuel %(percentage 10%,-20%), glow plug going bad, glow starter. tons of others but I am keeping it short so others can post. 2)Monster Truck, higher ground clearance allowing you do more in the backyard, but has good speed on most models (35mph OOB)and on the 4wd models has excellent handling. Climbing ability is just WOW on some of the models. Bigger trucks=bigger parts= just a tad more money. Stadium Trucks,I went with a Stadium Truck, well I think they should be called track trucks,(I know same thing). Speed is what they, even the lowest end model comes out of box 35MPH(advertised). their are so many different models that if you want one you really need to research and research then do just a little more research, goto a filed so you can see them run. The are basically built to go fast and to jump, looks like most 1/10th scales come OOB are able to jump 5' jumps and not break anything on the landing, of course given the landing isn't a nose in, or upside-down. I looked at the RC10GT Plus, Traxxas Rustler, S-Maxx(basically a T-Maxx just lowered a little), Team Losi xxx-nt. Each has there pluses and minuses. Buggies, just flat out speed and very long jumping, O and SPEED. I didnt research them at all since it wasn't what I was looking for, but got to see some at a race track...honestly 50+ MPH is my guess..take a 3' jump at full throttle and land 13' later on all four tires...SPeeeed. 3)Race or climb, Do you want to race, climb over the kids little toys in the backyard, take those hills that you didnt flatten out yet? Racing? goto a track and see the style truck you like race, backyard...heck pretty much any of them can do it, the Monster trucks do it better because of the ground clearance. 4)Durability, Speed, or Handling OOB....IMHO and research, you have to give one for the other. I cant tell you a truck that has great speed, handling, durability OOB. Durability, I found out of the ones I looked at the Team Associated RC10GT was very durable, when it hit a jump at about 20mph went 6' and nosed in and he just went flipped it over and started it up and took off I said that tough,(speed good handling good, gets better with driver) OOB the rustler was just insanely fast, I mean that thing took off like it had a rocket on it(but handling was not good, until you slowed down A LOT, close to stopped, but the speed WOW. I found OOB that the Team losi xxx-nt was the best handling, it took a turn at speeds that the rustler rolled over on. speed was about the same as the RC10GT, durability...cant really comment on as I didnt see anyone take a really hard hit.....but guy running it said with in the first 3 months of having it he replaced almost all shock towers, and everything else that had to do with the suspension...so I wont really comment on it. 5)Pull or Electric start.....Pull start>>>just like a little weed eater pull pull pull, the electric start put the little rod onto the starter put it in the hole and press button and wait for it to go weeeeeeennnnnenenneneneeee. Smart is the electric start...(funny I didnt go with a electric start) I decided to go with the Team Associated RC10GT Plus RTR....it came with a couple extra things that others didnt and yep it was cheaper. I just felt for me it was the better option. I can see myself doing some ups but not much. I still really like the Traxxas S-Maxx but never got to see one in person..not even on the LHS shelf, and didnt get much info from forum members so took that as a hint. Well Keep in mind this is and was my opinion and others may feel different, which is good if no-one did then we would all have the same truck. Keep zipping....and know I can start looking for tires for my RC10GT that will do a tad better on the grass.
ORIGINAL: EdsWords Converting my GT from pull-start/roto-start to non pull start was the best thing I ever did to it. It completely transformed the truck. All of the best .12 engines can only be bought with out pullstarters anyhow.
You are using a starting box or something else on your GT? Sorry for the confusion.

RC10GT Plus RTR ...pull start to electric
I was wondering if anyone could tell me if there was a kit out there that would allow me to change over the pull start to a electric start? Can anyone recommend a good online store that carries RC10GT parts? I am wanting some tires/rims that will do better in the grass(short) than the stock pro-line tires.

RE: Official RC10GT Thread
hello all.............I just wanted to subscribe to this thread as of yesterday I joined the RC10GT club.....I bought a RC10GT Plus RTR...it is my first nitro truck, and I chose it over the rustler, and S-Maxx. I didnt get any ups for it yet and haven't been able to start it since the glow starter takes 15hours to charge....I didn't start charging it until around 10am this morning(Sunday). I cant wait to start it up and do my 4 tanks of break-in period. I did buy from a LHS(not so local 1hr away), but I figured it was smarter so that if something goes wrong they work on it...and after the break in is done, I take it back to them and they do a tune up to it. The radio really isn't the greatest but it'll do for now....running 27.145MHz...well off to go find some bigger/better tires...need some for bashing in the grassy backyard...short grass luckily.

Okay as some know I have decided to go with nitro for my first RC truck......My other thread helped me eliminate and understand certain items I was looking at.... Well my wallet just got a little deeper (AKA sold unused plane stuff) And that puts me near the $350.00 mark so I was wondering what is so good about the jato and bad, then from the RS4 MT2 guys what is so good or bad about it. I am still very much considering the Traxxas Rustler....as my first Nitro but I am also very open to hear what recommendations there are from ya'll/
