RE: New 1/10 RC10T4.1 Brushless 2.4 RTR from AE
ORIGINAL: maddrums25 I just bought one of these. It wasn't as fast as my redcat brushless, so I put in a reedy 6100kv motor. With the stock gearing it seems to over heat and shut down. Any suggestions on gearing to keep it running? I run 7.4v 5000mah lipos most of the time, but I also run an 11.1v 3200mah lipo for stupid speeds. I'm new to brushless so any help would be greatly appreciated.
First of all you don't need such a high KV motor, you can try smaller pinion gear, 18 is stock. Maybe a 16 would help. Is it the motor or the ESC that is getting HOT ?? I've run 4300KV with 16 with no problem it's all in the gearing not just the motor KV.
ORIGINAL: neiloid Just took the plunge and reamed a couple of vent holes in the side pods.
I find the holes I put in REALLY help, tried the small side vent holes but didn't see much improvement from that, the windshild and body holes did help. Some guys are cutting out the windshild which is ok too, the holes work for me.

What are the best Turnbuckle Ball ends for the mini 8 RPM 73375 ? Don't care for the Blue, is the 73372 in black the same ? Or is there a better choice ? These stock ones pop off SO easy. Thanks

RE: New Losi Mini 8ight
Info I got from Horizon: Very good question. Set it so that from a dead stop , take off full punch, it should slip anywhere from 1/2 to 1and 1/2 feet. When you go from a slippery surface to high traction or just the opposite you should re-adjust it useing the same parameters. I hope this helps, if not send please let me know.
ORIGINAL: neiloid The pin tyres on the white dish wheels are schumacher yellow mini pin tyres. Supposed to be the tyres for indoor carpet racing but I'm looking to use them on soft dirt as I don't carpet race indoors. I believe they also come in a softer white compound. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the info looks like they would work good on grass too. Any info on a 3s for the 8m ?? Thanks
ORIGINAL: SmOkEeJay Had a little incident yesterday with my new Raptor body. The front left body post came loose and the body ended up tearing. I used some duct tape to hold it for now, but I plan to get a HPI Silverado body soon: Also, the screw came loose on the right rear camber link: Running on gravel seems to be really rough on my Rustler, but I dont have many other places to run that are close by.
What tires are those if I may ask ? And how are they on LOW grass. Thanks

RE: Official Rustler Thread
NICE write up ! One thing I have experianced in the one I have in my T4 is to take off the end plate where the wires go in and put some silicone sealer there, there was enough space for small dirt and gravel to get in the motor housing, other then that a GREAT little motor.
ORIGINAL: neiloid Hi Ralph My pleasure chap. If you read up about half a dozen posts you will see that the Traxxas bottomsare #5439. You get six in a pack, so you are good to go. You need to pop out the Losi balls and use them in the Ofna tops and Traxxas bottoms. Easy job and you get a great fit and bomb proof shocks.
THANKS for your help !

RE: The mini everyone has always wanted, losi 1/14th 8ight
ORIGINAL: neiloid Hi Shock tops and bottoms should be changed for Ofna tops #37100 and Traxxas bottoms #5439 - the Losi plastic is a little brittle. [link=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cxvps_3JirM&feature=g-hist&context=G2858726AHT4K6wwAQAA]shock fix[/link] The stock servo is ok but the saver is a little weak, but if you wrap a ziptie round its a good fix but most have switched servo to an HS225MG with a Kimbrough servo saver or similar. The aluminium shock towers are a little soft so most change these out for CF. That's about it. The car is great fun to drive and very durable. Hopefully by the time you buy they will have a bind n drive version so you can use your own radio. Lipos - I run Turnigy 2200 with a 20c (30 burst) rating and they are fine and last 30+ minutes. The higher the C rating the better I guess. If you are looking to race then get a shorter pack and move the esc off the centre brace to lower COG. I couldn't wait to 2013 to buy though. Hope this helps.
IS the Ofna tops #37100 kit enough to do ALL 4 shocks ? Thanks
