RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM
i have a mgt 8.0 and was running like shit for the first 3 tanks and i told my lhs guy about it and he called associated and told him to run 30% fuel (not 20% as told in the manual)in the 8.0. so i got some 30% fuel and the difference is night and day. this 8.0 runs great on 30% wheelies and more power than i will ever need. it is a totally a different truck. worked wonders for me i will say go 30% and see if this works for you. this truck is an animal on 30% . try and see the differance.

RE: Truggy front tires ballooning. HELP!
if your racing keep what you have. if your bashing go with 20. the thicker the fluid you have in the center diff will matter the amount of power output to the wheels. if you have 1000 wt fluid in the center only the front will be working because you dont want the back to slide out. if you put 100,0000 fluid in the center it will be like locking the center diff. all the tires will spin equally on power. causing the truck to wheelie and slide out when turning on power.

RE: need help with a truggy
well this isnt really a problem with the truck. its more of the motor. usually on those motors it like 3 or 3 1/2 turns out from closed on the hsn. and 2 or 2 1/2 turns out from closed on your lsn. also remember to set your idle by looking at how far the carb is open. then you should really control your idle with the lsn. thats how i learned how to tune

RE: 20t clutch bell on a inferno buggy
i think a 20 tooth clutch would be way too much. if your looking for speed gor for a 17 clutch and 46 spur. a 20 would overheat the crap out of that motor. at least if you go 17 temps will be a little lower but still give you more top speed than you need. here are the clutch and spur for your buggy. also dont forget that you will need bearings for the clutch http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/products_id/5202 http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/products_id/3991

new mgt 8.0 motor???
i'm having problems tuning my mgt 8.0 engine from break in. followed the book to the t and still i can only get it to run good with the motor running rich, talked to my lhs guy and he said that the mgt 8.0 that he just got in has a different motor with a smaller cooling head and looks different than the origenal mgt 8.0 motor, i have contacted team associated and they said there is no such thing as a new motor, but i have seen the new mgt 8.0 and it is a different motor than mine, has anyone heard or seen a new motor for the mgt 8.0. mine the low speed idle runs away and can't control the truck . i have to put on the brake and stop the motor and then restart, and then is ok for a while and then the same thing happens, team associated told me to send my motor to them and they will repair or replace it with the same motor, i have talked to people with the (updated) motor that have bought it and said it is a dream to tune and run, is associated just pulling my leg or what?????please if anyone has heard anything please post.the truck is a monster and i like it very much , but with the problems i'm having i can't run this truck without a chance of a good or bad problem happening.

RE: high idle needed to keep running
if the engine wants to either race or die that means that your lsn and hsn are wayyy to lean. try changing the plug and turn them both a half turn rich(counterclockwise). if it still wont run. just try going back to factory settings. how many tanks is on the engine? what engine is it?
