RE: futaba 8fg super for jet turbine flying?
ORIGINAL: BaldEagel
ORIGINAL: raptorlogo Hi YiMing, I am using a T8FG upgraded with the latest 4.1 firmware to 12+2 channels and a T12FG. They are only few minor differences between both senders. RE: What do you think about JETLEGEND L39?
Hello, Yesterday I maidened my second hand Jetlegend L39. I have been obliged to trim up the left aileron by 3mm/5mm to keep the plane flat on the roll axis. Did you heard something about this issue ? Thanks for your help. Regards, Alain

Charles, I also have a sense of humour. I am very sorry for the misunderstanding but I just wanted to focus you on the French translation for "conard".[:D] Have a lot of fun with your "Avio-canard". Regards, Alain

RE: Avio-Conard, Going Strong!!
Hello world, Please do not say "Conard" but "Canard". "Conard" means "stupid b a s t a r d" [:D] "Canard" is the french word for "duck" and also the name used for the small front wing in a aircraft (Rutan VariEze, Rafale, Eurofighter, etc...). Regards, Alain

RE: Turbine Oil Choice
Dear Kenneth, 5 to 6 years old is not a problem for the turbine oils stored in a closed can. Stay with the Aeroshell 500, Mobil DTE Lite oil is not recommanded by Jetcat. When you are flying turbine jets, the oil cost is peanut compared to a factory repair. Regards, Alain

RE: C-ARF Flash Build Thread for All Flash's being built this winter
ORIGINAL: carl.huxford125 I'm just installing my engine (merlin 160) into my flash, I have fitted the full bypass but to me there really doesn't look like much of a gap around the front of the engine to allow any air to go around the turbine and keep everything cool Should I just do without the bypass or run it and see it the temps are ok?
Hello Carl, I had the same setup with a Wren160, you can forget the bypass, no need at all. Now I am flying the same bird with a Jetcat P120SX, still no bypass. I wish you great fun with your Flash. Alain

Hello Edgeflyer, I am very glad you think about a French fighter, this is not so common in US. The Mirage 2000 made by Christen Diffusion will be a very good choice, it has good quality with incredible flying caracteristics. Have great fun with your Mirage [;)] Regards, Alain

RE: Wren 160 explodes
ORIGINAL: Jim Cattanach Update & happy conclusion. Wren received my turbine on 4th January. A couple of days later they commented that the cause appeared to be turbine wheel failure & they would repair my turbine free of charge. On the 26th January they e-mailed to say that my turbine was unrepairable & they were sending me a new turbine. This arrived today, with no charge for shipping. As I said before, I have in the past, had disagreements with Wren, but I am very pleased with this service. I am sure many turbine manufacturers would at least make some charge for repairing an out of warranty turbine. I exchanged many e-mails with Ron Ballard & would like to thank him for his help, which, I am sure, helped me greatly. Wren UK at all times kept me informed of progress during this period. My faith in Wren has been restored.
Hi Jim, I agree with you, WREN is a good company and fair in business but too much conservative in design as a turbine maker. You should first thank RC UNIVERSE. Without such a forum, I am not sure that the conclusion would be the same. Do not ask me why I know. Alain

RE: JetCat P120SX vs Behotec JB165
Dear AdriFlyBoy, I fly both P80SE and P120SX. To me the P80SE has the best compromise in terms of reability, performance and price. But you should have a look to the MERLIN 90 engine, small size, low weight and one of the best spool up time. Have a good choice. Alain

RE: Ultra Lightning vs Eurosport
Hello Michael, As a first jet the Eurosport is a winner. - flight envelope is huge, very slow to high speed. - slow landing capability due to the delta configuration and the low wing load. - visibility in the sky is good The last but not the least you cannot compare both in term of total cost. The Eurosport is much more cheaper. I enjoy both of them, they have different flight caracteristics but they are amazing planes. Have a good choice. Alain

RE: P120SX max RPM
Hello jassli, I also got a brand new P120SX. The factory setting for the max rpm is 123 000, to me this is normal. The user can set it to 125 000 rpm and yes it is safe, if it was not the case Jetcat will not allowed that possibility. My P80SE is factory set at 125 000 RPM. Of course, no difference between USA and Europe Alain
