RE: Stinger II any good?
I have one and love it, very good quality arf with excellent fitting parts and covering job. Used all the hardware included. I have a O.S. 55AX and Bisson pitts muffler in it and she is quick with lot's of vertical. Really a 46 size is plenty but l had the 55 sitting without a home. No bad habits for this plane. Get one, you will not regret it![8D]

RE: New Hangar 9 1.50 P-51 Build
Wow! There is a ton of very helpful info on this subject posted here, and l have a lot of reading to do. However, to save a bit of time l was wondering if anyone is using a O.S. 160FX for power, and is it underpowered. I happen to have one looking for a home. Thanks, Dave.

KMP Hurricane
I was wondering if anyone had any information on engine offset for this ARF, there doesn't seem to be any already built in. I am planning on using a Saito 125 for power. Thanks Dave.

There was a independant hobby shop that had one for sale, not affiliated with KMP. It was a great show worth the 5 hour drive, l kind of feel like a kid in a candy store when l get there.[:D]

RE: KMP Hurricane in detail
Thanks for your thoughts Ed, and l agree. In a perfect world it's desireable to provide the needed weight for balance with engine weight which a small gasser would do. Or even a larger 2 stroke ( which is criminal to put on a warbird IMO) I guess that leaves me with the Saito 125 and added nose weight as required. Hey Zenoah has a new 20cc. Hmmmm Dave.

Hi all, I just got a KMP Hurricane and have read most of the posts here which have been very helpful. I have a Saito 100 needing a home but with the talk of adding nose weight l'm worried it won't be enough power. I fly my warbirds scale like and appreciate any opinions. Thanks Dave. P.S.Keep those mod ideas and pics coming they're really helpful.

RE: Karbonite gears in HS-6985
Mike, From the main page select servos then from the menu select giant scale servos, and you find the HS 755 HB listed. From the description it clearly makes claims that the new Karbonite supplied servo can handle 1/4 scale and has superior strength. It's very confusing, can servos with Karbonite gears be used in larger applications or not. Thanks.

RE: Karbonite gears in HS-6985
If Hitec does not recommend using Karbonite servos in larger or giant scale aircraft then why are they advertising such on their official website? http://www.hitecrcd.com/product_fs.htm IMO "ALL", manufacturers have a responsibility to clearly define applications for equipment rather than increase sales through vague advertising. Never mind the financial loss if your aircraft goes in, what about the safety factor? Sure common sense and experience enter the picture, but what about the less seasoned flier who trusts what he reads.

RE: ys 120
Hi all, I've read through many of the posts in this thread on the H9 corsair ( tons ) and l'm aware of the concerns in a couple of areas especially the firewall. If one reinforced the firewall area adequately and used caution throughout assembly is this arf a good choice? [sm=thumbup.gif][sm=thumbup.gif][sm=thumbdown.gif][sm=thumbdown.gif] I have the H9 P51 Mustang 60 size with a Saito 91 in it, and other than beefing up the retract struts l'm very happy with it and enjoy flying it. Thanks for you opinions. [:D]

Planeclothes, If you do decide to go with this arf you won't regret it. Quality all the way and a very straight forward project. I picked one up recently and just finished it, only problem is the weather just went south[:@] so my maiden will have to wait. The covering was perfect. No wrinkles! Honest. And the parts fit extremely well. Only thing l changed was the tail wheel gear and hinges ( used robart pinpoint ). IMO it's a 9/10[sm=thumbup.gif][sm=thumbup.gif]

I replaced the ca hinges in the rudder after two broke with robart pinned hinges. The rest of the ca hinges seem to be ok but l'm keeping an eye on them. I know they were properly installed but failed. I'm not a big ca hinge fan on aircraft of this type and size though.

RE: Great Planes 1/4 scale Gene Soucy Extra 300S
Thanks for the reply BasinBum and Marty. Your right about the investment $$ that's why l wish to choose the best option. My glow fuel will cost around $19 for 5% Omega as an example and gas about $3 a gallon plus oil etc. l have one new 160 now for a OMP Edge that l will build next, but with two of these beasts drinking fuel it will add up for sure. I guess its the cost of being active in our hobby, either accept it or go .049 lol. It becomes a personal preference also, with pros and cons for all types of power. Dave...

RE: Great Planes 1/4 scale Gene Soucy Extra 300S
I also just ordered the Gene Soucy Extra. I was going to use a OS 160 for power but am now concerned about fuel costs after reading these posts. I am new to gas and would like to hear suggestions for a comparable gas engine to the 160 if there is one. What about a G26 or G38, too small? Considering the vibration factor is this arf sturdy enough to handle larger ones like a ZDZ 40 or G 45 and is a DA 50 too powerful. Weight is also a factor with vibration. There is a huge amount of great info on this plane here, l thought this post might help condense the power issue. Thanks for you advice.

Mine flew great on a OS 46FX, enough power for sure. The extra power to weight ratio for a .61 size engine isn't warranted and costs more and uses more fuel. IMO[8|]

OS 91 FX Advice
[sm=confused.gif] Help! With all the negative talk about problems with the 91FX such as air bubbles, poor seals, bad idles, and loss of rpm after low amount of run time, l'm hesitant about owning one. There seems to be too many owners with similar problems for there not to be something wrong. l own other OS engines smaller in size and they run well. Should this engine be avoided at this time until these issues are resolved? In my mind l shouldn't be required to change carbs or relocate them and add pumps on a new engine, especially from a reputable firm like OS and at the price. Any comments are appreciated, thanks.
