RE: Jets Over Kentucky Week 2012 /
My kids and I just returned home from Kentucky Jets and they had a great time. I would especially like to thank Lewis for treating my kids so good. They were so happy that Lewis and everyone treated them so special. Lewis made it so they could walk out with me to the flight line and not only they, but I am truly appreciative and must say what an honorable and nice person he is. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you. It has not been the best summer and you made it special. Andy Andrews and Jacee(hope that's right) and your wife, I thank you. Boli, Lukey, no more can be said except you are truly good friends that I, we feel honored to have in our lives. [:)]The whole RC community there are all now special people in mine and my children's lives. I thank all of you. Richard, Elizabeth and Mason[:)][:)][:)]
ORIGINAL: jeteye Fantastic plane Wap. I'm hoping the F-14 will be my next project. I would like to have it with the Y pipe and a Mammoth if at all possible. They have a smaller one with the single engine, but I like big airplanes!!!!!! Hopefully they can offer this option too. Again congratulations, and a fantastic job! Lewis
Hey General, I saw the other FEJ you just maidened. Do you like the quality of the FEJ now? I have been looking around for a while at different kits. I would greatly appreciate and value your opinion on these kits. Richard
ORIGINAL: EagleJC Hi All: Company will have one electronic valve to work with electric gear, gear doors set. This valve will work as 5 way valve (EV5U valve). The valve will have LCD display and timer set up for every single gear and gear door. The valve will work well for different size of electric gear. valve also has mode 1 and mode 2 choice. (mode 1 is regular function, but mode 2 is used to for those models that need to close doors after gear down) Thanks James
James, saw you at the field the other day, nice to see you again. Will the F-15 also come with the electric retracts and doors? I would be more interested if so. Richard
ORIGINAL: FalconWings I think you better be friends of Boli and be joking otherwise I'd sue your butthole straight out. Reputation is all a pilot has. You are screwing with his right now. David
I had a post up here, but it was deleted due to a "personal attack", I guess saying you would "sue my buttonhole straight out" is not a personal attack. This, RCU has become a hotbed of politically correct and can't speak your mind. For any of you and all of you who cannot figure out that this was a little joke between friends, then all I can say is put your toys away and get out in the real world where it is okay to rib a friend and also be subject to the same. I am soooo sorry for those of you who don't have a life but this RCU, but I do and looks like I need to go to where the big boys have their toys and can stand a little playful ribbing. Good night and God Bless those of you who can't. Richard P.S. Boli, what a waste of a good start, huh?

BOLI, is not a what, but a who. Only one of the best RC jet and turbo prop purveyors of intricate maneuvers there is. Recently back into the pilot seat of the full scale big boys. If you know him, then the question would make sense. Sorry, I thought most everyone knew him, my apologies sir. To you, look under Bevar here on RCU, maybe you will understand the question more thoroughly. Thank you. Richard
ORIGINAL: Details 4 Scale WOW, Thanks for all the comments. I want everyone to know that I am well aware of my shortcomings and I do appreciate the positive comments. Let me address you one at a time since I told everyone to post there concerns here. Oistein: The lenses and housings for the Tucano are finally being molded this week. The Tucano system will be on the way to Bjorn next week. John R: The molds are in the layup room as we speak and the parts will be shipped to you on Friday. I'll send you that Tracking # then. Vincent: Thanks for the comments. I am trying to fix this part of my business. I have been turning away a lot of custom work until the new equipment is up and running and I can get a handle on delivery times! Mark S: Yep, that's why I invested in the CNC equipment. Making parts by hand just isn't cutting it anymore time wise... I do hope the second refueling probe shows up this time. :) I'll check back later. Thanks, Dan
Dan, I don't see my name in this list. When am I going to get the belly/smoke tank for the F-16? I spoke to you on the phone last week, is it going to happen this month? Ricahrd

RE: Florida jets 2012.. Are we there yet?
ORIGINAL: FTiano Thanks for the comments, good and bad. This coming week I am looking into getting a new surface for the Florida Jets runway. I am told there are alternative ''grasses'' that are not as spongy. I am also looking into a synthetic surface for the main runway, something that may allow a choice of grass or hard surface for takeoffs. In all fairness, 90% of the aircraft here had NO problem with the grass and in some cases, the Grass prevented a scuffed up bottom when planes were forced into a belly landing. I'm not going to defend the number of vendors, but in all honesty, who were you looking for? 6 that I know of have gone out of business since last year! We had BVM, JetCat, Skymaster, Jet Central, Modellbau USA, E-Flite, Shulman Aviation, Horizon Hobby, RC Jet international, FTE, Dream works and JR/Spektrum. As far as our dinner humor, trust me, it is just humor. And the remark about Jet Central not being there, You damn right I said something. Eric asks for special placement and a Table reserved in his name and he doesn't have the courtesy to tell me he wasn't going to show up, that's just plane rude. One last thing, that F-15 did not bounce after landing and crash! If you're gonna tell a ''story'', at least tell the story truthfully! And for the record, over 90 guys told me they thought the runway was fine! We will make an earnest effort to improve the site in any way I can. It is not my property so sinking thousands of dollars into someone else's property is sometimes a difficult pill to swallow! If I do some extra work and I still see a bunch of disappointed pilots making a post, I will retire Florida Jets and we'll have a great War Bird event in its place. (Go Kentucky Jets!) But I WILL try. ONCE More. Thanks, FT
If I mis-spoke about the F-15 - sorry bout that. Yes, I think the grass is 1,000 times better for a forced belly landing, much less damage than asphalt. But, is it really necessary to threaten with "retire Florida Jets" when other things can be accomplished to make a better landing/take-off area and a more profitable and enjoyable event for all involved. I know in todays economy it's tough for alot of people to even enjoy this hobby, much less tearing up an expensive plane. For the record, alot of pilots talked about never coming back because of the runway and the torture to their planes. Whatever, however, we love our hobby and want to be able to enjoy it to the fullest. We can sit here and hash out every tiny aspect, but the bottom line is, is FJ the as good as it was? Probably not. Could it be great once again - sure. Just my opinion, not looking to argue. Good luck. Richard

Do you think you would ever hear someone at a car show say "Why do those girls have to be here and ruin all the great cars"? I know that if a women does not want to be noticed, she will dress that way. We are after all - men, and sexy legs and women will get me looking before a great jet! Enjoy the show, with all the extra perks if we are lucky enough to get them there. By the way, Fairfield has a perfectly flat field with out all the bumps and attitudes that are associated withFT's Florida Jets. I did hear "Thats the best it's gonna get, get used to it". Need I say more? Richard

RE: Florida jets 2012.. Are we there yet?
ORIGINAL: Ron Stahl I was in fl. For business last year and went down to see the new place. I had a good time seeing old friends and new stuff, watching the flying, but would never fly there. The weather was hit and miss, the field was rough and many planes had gear issues that would not had an issue on a hard surface runway. The local hotels are overpriced like most around airports and Lewis's event is much better overall.
I have to agree fully. I saw so much gear attrition, it was nuts. You could be guaranteed about every fifth flight, a plane was going to loose at least one gear, if not all. The F-15 that was completely destroyed and lit the field on fire, hit a "speed bump" in the runway and it bounced into the air way too soon, rolled, hit and "BOOM". The crosswind that came up Saturday did not help, but from what I saw, the runway was a mess. There was actually a guy out there Saturday morning with a bucket and small gardening spade filling pot holes!! I thought I was at a polo match and they were going th o have us all go out a fix divits! Just my opinion. Richard

RE: My apologies to the Jet Community
ORIGINAL: RCKen  I wanted to take moment and apologize to the Jet Community here on RCU. I am apologized for Florida Jets 2012. Because of personal reasons I wll not be able to attend this event this year and cover it. I am dealing with some personal issues that just won't let me get down there to cover it. I am so sorry that I can't make it this year as this is one of my moe favorite events througout the year to cover. This has absolutely nothing at all do with RCU, but rather it is something in my personal life that I am trying to get taken care of. However, I don't want to leave you high and dry with nothing from the event. I am working out a deal with a couple of the people at the event and hopefully they will be able to get me pictures each day that I will be able get posted here. I'll let you all know if I get this worked out. I am also working on the same kind of deal for video as well. As with the above, I'll let you know if I get somethin worked out. Once again, I am so sorry that this has happend and I hope that they Jet Community here on RCU does understand. Thanks Ken
I don't know you , but seriously?? There is no apology needed, though your passion for others and our hobby is well appreciated. This IS a hobby, not life. You take care of you and yours - we'll worry with the rest. Good luck with whatever you are dealing with. Richard
