RE: tamyia hornet
Thanks for the help. A friend did for me when I told him it's a Japanese tire puzzle.

tamyia hornet
Anybody have a neat trick to get rear insert into tire. The front was easy, I've tried grease, soap and prying. Mid 80"s I had a grasshopper but don't remember it being this hard. It's a re-release Hornet.

RE: Two boat projects
To dirt kicker, thanks, it helps somewhat. I have a Shockwave brushless and its fun. I also had a Traxxas Villian Ex2 but it ended up with the ony 2 inches of the bow above water for about 24 hours. The ad said waterproof,!!!!!! NOT!!!!! One motor worked the other didn't along with the esc, servo, receiver, the batteries exploded and holed the hull. That doesn't put me off Traxxas, but what does, is the need for two batteries to make speed. Most other small rtr fe's require two batteries, that's why I'm building these projects, I believe good speed can be had with only one battery pack. As my Nimh batteries need to be replaced I wiil replace them with Lipo but that may take a while. Next project Is to electify a Aquacraft Topspeed hydro using an outboard motor modified to use brushless system, I will start order parts April 1.

Two boat projects
First is a Proboat Riptide converting to brushless using a Seaking 60 amp esc and a 3600 kv motor 7.2v Nimh battery. The stock prop I can't find dimentions for prop. I have no Idea how fast it will go hopeing to outrun a Traxxaz Villian ex 2. Second is 27 in fiberglass shovel nosed hydro using same esc and motor but increased voltage. My question are will I need turn fins both and what prop on the second? Also if I need turn fins on the hydro can I assume they go on the sponsons?

RE: New to RC Boating, need advice
I'm not new, but I've always bought rtr. This time I built as 24in balsa hydroplane from a plan.I'm using 30 amp brushless Mystery (brand name) ecu and motor with 2500 miIiamp NiNH battery. I'm hoping it's as fast as my Dads Traxxas Villian Ex. My problem is how to wire it. It has a bec and no switch
