RE: Traxxas SUMMIT!!! I MUST HAVE ONE!!!!!
Does it float? In that last video it looked like it was floating the last time. In another video I saw it was up to the windshield in water.

RE: Share Futaba 9c settings for Blade CP Pro
I flew the first battery out with the stock transmitter and am pretty happy with the way it flies for a micro. I was flying around in the living room first flight. I will be getting a crystal and trying it with the 9C soon.

RE: Share Futaba 9c settings for Blade CP Pro
Ah, thank you. That is what I was thinking but I read it in some other thread somewhere. I just got my wife to pick up a blade for me today so I will be looking into using my 9C with it.

RE: Share Futaba 9c settings for Blade CP Pro
So you have to change the TRANSMITTER crystal to single conversion also? Or are you saying I would be set with just a single conversion receiver crystal?

RE: Share Futaba 9c settings for Blade CP Pro
I read somewhere you had to change the crystal in the transmitter to a single conversion crystal also for a 9C to work. Is this true?

RE: OMP Electrified
It looks shorter than the fusion to me but it is hard to tell from that angle. It is a nice looking plane though.

RE: Black Oil Stains-ZDZ 100
Glad I have a Cap then![:)] On a related note, I recently bought a used 3W60 and it spits out lots of black gunk also. I am using Mobil MX2T at about 64:1. The engine is in great shape and looks almost new. I don't have a clue how much the engine has been run. Are there any other clues that I can look for to tell if the engine is fully broken in?

RE: 3w-70i ...cylinder rotation..help
I think I may have just figured out your problem. It looks like the iUS engines have the exhaust on the opposite side. Maybe the mufflers are made for the iUS series instead of the i's. I would call them and find out, they would probably exchange it for you.

RE: Please don't laugh...
I am with everyone on the Twist. I have one and with an O.S. 70 with a 14X6 it goes about as fast as I would want it to. Much more and it would definately flutter. I had an Aresti that broke both sides of the stab at the same time. I had about 3" on one side and nothing on the other. The elevators were just hanging in the breeze by the control rods. Surprisingly I made it down. It would climb at much over idle and descend at idle. I sat it down smoother than most of my landings.

RE: HELP diagnosing engine problem
Try another glow plug too. I had a 2 stroke heli engine do the same thing. It would run fine for a couple of minutes and then just quit without warning. The glow plug looked like it burned fine but I changed it and it went away.

Smoke muffler holes
Hello Everyone, I recently bought a used 3W60 with a smoke muffler. The muffler has 2 threaded holes in it and I am not sure why they are there. It has the tube coming out to connect the smoke oil up to also. I have the holes plugged right now. I was thinking of adding smoke to the plane and was wondering if they have something to do with the smoke system. My muffler looks just like the top one on the right from the cactus aviation site. http://www.cactusaviation.com/Products/Mufflers/mufflers.html

RE: Saito .72 failure
If this is one with a plastic backplate I have heard of the connecting rod rubbing on it and melting it, especially if hovering or a lot of vertical stuff. I read of one guy who shaved a little off of his to keep it from rubbing. He contacted Saito's service department and they told him not to do 3D with it.[8|] I have no experience with Saito engines, just remember reading it somewhere. I will try to look it up.

RE: OS 50sx
Mine had the air leak in the needle valve. It was the plastic washer under the cap that plugs up the other spot you can screw the needle valve into. I put a washer from a glow plug in instead of the plastic one and it fixed it.

I believe it was 4 1/2". I haven't tried to flat spin it so I don't know if it will or not.

RE: Powering a Twist
70 O.S. 4-stroke just fits and has PLENTY of power. Balances perfectly also. Mine will hover at about 1/3 throttle.(not that I am very good at it)

RE: The twist is here!
With my O.S. 70 4-stroke I can do full throttle runs with the 13-8 prop no problem. It can move along pretty fast. I don't know about a dive at full throttle though. If you had a high revving 2-stroke it might be too fast, I don't know.

RE: The twist is here!
I think it is well worth the cost! I have flow this plane twice and was doing stuff with it I wouldn't dare with most planes I have flown hundreds of times. Now if they would just make a big one I could put my spare gas engine on I would be set!

RE: The twist is here!
I flew mine twice today and it was a blast. I had to replace the wing bolt also. Luckilly I had a metal bolt handy. I think this plane is a great mixture of control response and stability. It handles the wind very well also.

RE: after run oil
What about hydraulic fluid for after run oil? Just got to thinking it protects metal from rust and is pretty thick, but doesn't gum up. Not that I was going to use it, just wondering if it would work.

RE: The twist is here!
An old dependable O.S. 70. I hope to be able to fly it this weekend. It balanced perfectly with the battery in the very back of the wing saddle, behind the throttle servo. My 70 barely fit. I can't imagine a 91.

I used a 4 stroke but I bet if I had used a 2 stroke the throttle arm would have been too short.

RE: The twist is here!
I just got mine finished. I only had two problems with the kit. I had to trim a little off the back of the wing to get it to fit the fuse. The thing that bothers me is that the aileron pushrods are too short. The clevis only starts threading on when the pushrod is halfway into it. I could get it to work but it is only held by a couple of threads. It looks like it is screwed halfway into the clevis but actually only a couple of threads are holding it if that makes any sense. Overall it is a very good kit though. O.S. Master, You need to use some of that duck tape on your brother![&:]
