RE: Why Is 3D Hated?
Last time I will post in this thread as its just to much stupidity here. CombatPig, you are IMO the type of keyboard commando that looks for any opportunity to post something stupid just to agitate others. This hobby is supposed to be about helping others and having fun together. Thats what I meant by Brotherhood. Yes we all give each other a hard timeover on the Probro site but we dont do it to make people mad or stir up the pot so to speak. And we also dont have moderators as we all get along so well there is no need for them. So I can say this for fact I dont have an attitude problem.I have never been asked to leave a field or event, and have been asked to return anytime at EVERY place Ive ever flown. So it isnt me. But it seems every club has at least one guy who thinks its his place to get an attitude with every new pilot that has a 3D plane showing up to fly. Most times I pull out my one non 3D plane first, then after having no issues I go bring out the 50cc Hybrid and before I can even put the landing gearon it this guy will come up and in a VERY RUDE manner make sure I amtold to either NOT fly 3D at all or tell me I have to be way off the end of the runway or some other such nonsense. I have no problem sharing airspace. If you saw the pics Gus posted of the mass hover you would realize that it is possible to have 30+ planes in the air at once. And for the record we had no colisions durring the Mass Hover. If that makes you mad, then post some more but I wont see it as Im done feeding you TROLL!

RE: Why Is 3D Hated?
Oh and so you know, I've been an officer of my home club, and assistant CD of a major float fly, so dont make assumptions, its puts you in with the group I'm describing. They dont need you to defend them, they get into enough trouble on their own.

RE: Why Is 3D Hated?
Combatpig, you are making the assumption that I dont understand that clubs have rules. As stated above been doing this over 20 yrs man. I know the rules and I dont mind someone who comes to the new giy to courteously find out, but Ebert time wothoit fail I've beem approached by o d beezers with an attitude. Just my experience and IMO not how to handle the situation. I love it when I then get to show them that I do know more about safty than they do by how I fly and more often by seeing that same guy break the rules he just so rudely tried to make sure I knew to follow. I get to go politely remind him of the ass chewing he just gave me that was unwarranted. Usually pisses em off real good. Haha.

RE: Why Is 3D Hated?
The ProBros have the Houston ProBro event at Bomber every year. Never been any issues that Ive ever heard about. Great place to fly. As far as midairs being turned in on an insurance claim, that dont happen, because AMA does not cover loss of your model, only the damage it does to property of persons. I've been flying for over 20 years, since I was 14 yrs old. Learned the old fashoined way, stick built trainer and no buddie box. We passed the box back and forth. No sims out either save for the Dave Brown one that was like flying a pixalated dot on a blank screen, lol. I've been flying 3D exclusively for about 2.5 yrs now and am getting pretty good at it. It has made my skill level more than TRIPLE. Not bragging but trying to make a point. I travel the lower 48 flying at many different venues and have had several instances where guys see me unloading a 3D profile and Immidiatly feel the need to quote me the EnTIRE list of AMA rules. As if I somhow couldent possibly know them or even care to fly by them. This is immidiatly done on there assumption that ALL 3D guys are RULE BREAKING blankity blanks! This saddens me as this is not what our hobby is supposed to be about. When I go flying I usually spend equal amounts of time flying and helping others. If you need a part or tool and I have one on hand, USE IT! JEEZ all this crap makes me sick! Makes me so GLAD I'm a PROBRO where BROTHERHOOD COMES FIRST!!!!! Most of you need to get back to this understanding and make the hobby fun instead of bickering all the darn time. And for the record NEVER has this happend to me by anyone younger than 50+ and ussually from the oldest guys at the field who only seem to come out to police the other flyers and show off, NOT FLY but static display their planes. You can get upset all you want but it will only show how bad the truth HURTS!

RE: Why Is 3D Hated?
ORIGINAL: mazjag The probros..I have to admit they have caught my interest.. I keep hearing about these awesome flying profiles...are the aerowerks and bad boy not in that group?? I just bought a hanger 9 plane because I don`t see a swawny house ARF at least in stock...OMP has no parts for planes if I`m looking correctly..someone please explain the probros to us...As far as the main topic there should be enough time in the day for everybody to do their thing they find most full filling in the hobby..
The aw profile is no good for 3d to heavy, tail to small, not enough wing, ect. And no profile pilot would be caught dead with sfg's on his plane lol.

RE: Why Is 3D Hated?
I drive a rig for a living and I fly all over the country. I've never met a 3d pilot that was a jerk, elitist, or inconsiderate. We fly low and close in so we can better see what the plane is doing, when you put rules making us fly way up high, or way out away, then you make it 20 times more difficult and in turn 20 times more likely we will lost it and crash. I know this is a fact weather you agree or not makes no difference. It will still be a fact, lol. I am always considerate towards others even though 99% of the people I share the road with arent, I dont let that agrivation carry over into my trips to the field. Now here is one to ponder. Is your hobby "flying" or is your hobby being a politician and running a club? Answer the question honestly to yourself and noone else. I personally dont care. But if your making rules all the time, and spend more time/look forward to the meeting than flying, this is you. If this is you, "YOU ARE RUINING everyone elses FUN! Go do something else please. The hobby should be about having fun for all, and helping others to do the same, not be a politician. And so you know I have been flying for over 20 yrs. Am an AMA member and also a probro. Now that you know I'm a probro go ahead and flame me, I woudnt even have known about this thread if a fellow bro had not linked it in a thread on the absolute best site in the hobby the probro site.

RE: 60 90 profile
The Pro Zingers are only good as Epoxy mixing sticks, when it comes to 3D you want either JXF, XOAR, or any of the other wide blade low pitch props. I can say this from my experience with them. And even the APC wide blades are better than the Pro Zingers. they just rev up without really going anywhere. IE no pullout from hover ect. I would rather lose a 1/4 second of spool up than not have the BITE when down low and hanging it on the prop. Buy what you want, but the best ones are the WIDE ones. Wood obiously better for throttle response, but not durable at all. one little tick on the ground and you have to replace it. Ive been flying the same APC 16x4W on my Saito 100 for 3 months without a single issue. And I fly this thing HARD. Yes it slows down the response a tic. Just enuff to notice it. But any GOOD pilot can compesate for this VERY easily.

RE: 46 and 60 Extra 260 Freestyle! VIDEO ADDED!!
Mojo 40 is only 4 lbs 2 oz RTF with 55AX. You have to build it but its a 1000% better profile. Just my humble opinion. Now back to lurking. HaHa![:D][:D]
