RE: Kit Bashing a TF Cessna 182Q to a 1956 Cessna 182
Back to building, started sanding Fuselage & Wings to be ready for Fiberglassing. Slow job. Also waiting for delivery of Hinges for my Switch Compartment Door and my FiberGlass Cowl. Woundering if I should install the Cockpit Kit or just leave Interior blank. I'm not looking for a real Scale Airplane just one that looks good. So many If's or No's. rcflyer35

RE: Kit Bashing a TF Cessna 182Q to a 1956 Cessna 182
Well I got the ST90 out and the OS60 in. Now I either have to FILL IN THE hOLE IN the Cowl or buy a Fiberglass one. I don't need the Big Hole in the side for the Head as the 60 fits inside the Cowl. I'll decide soon.

RE: Kit Bashing a TF Cessna 182Q to a 1956 Cessna 182
Since our flying weather has been bad for a few days I've been working on my Models. #1) Wing installed on Cessna 182, #2) Saito 130 Twin installed on my 1/4 Scale Cub. I like to work on more than one Model at a time, that way when I lose interest in one for awhile I have another one I can go to.

RE: Kit Bashing a TF Cessna 182Q to a 1956 Cessna 182
Someone somewhere in this Forum said the the Cessna 182 Interior was Removeable and you could Build the Interior outside of the Fuselage and Insert it after the plane was built. NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Once you build the Interior ,you insert the Floor, Side Panels, Rear Bulkhead and last the Seats. As per Plan all are glued in place. rcflyer35

Got to do alittle more work on my Cessna. Put my Switches & Glow Plug Remote in in the Baggage Compartment. Still have to buy hinges for the door. I also did alittle Interior Work. You also can see that the Wing Sits In It's Plan Position even tho I made the Fusalage A Fast Back. Pictures to follow. rcflyer35

You too. Sounds like your not going to have any trouble. Ask all the questions you want on the build and I'll answer them if I can. I'm not trying to build Scale , just somthing that looks good and Close to Scale. rcflyer35

RE: Kit Bashing a TF Cessna 182Q to a 1956 Cessna 182
Sorry I didn't use any drawings I just did every thing by eyesite. I know thats not the convenional way of doing things but thats the way I work. The Fin and Rudder were cur at the Angle the Fin looked like the Picture of the 1956 Cessna. Example place the fin over the Plans in the Upright position and draw a Horizonale accross the Fin and Rudder. Thats where you Cut. Add a some strenthing insid the Fin and Rudder. I closed the base of the Fin and added two 1/4in. dowels to be inserted into a 1/8in. Ply Plate I'm making to be glued into the Fuselage foe added strength. I myself am Flying now and not doing much on the Model. When I do somthing on it I post it. rcflyer
