RE: MHz z drive oil or grease
I run liqui moly outboard gear oil this is what MHZ sells for the Z drives i also change the oil after every weekend of running and top them up before every outing overkill maybe but my drive still look new after three years its cheep insurance as one tube as lasted me the last two years

You can use polyester resin as long as hull is not epoxy resin as it wont bond well

Once you remove the setscrew i use a small flat screwdriver to gently work the bearing out it comes out fairly easy just be carefull i want to make a tool that will spread apart that i can place in the flexshaft retainer so i can just pull the assembly out i have not tried to remove the output shaft im not shure how its held in if its a press fit or threaded ihave an S6 drive i want to pull apart as well but have not pulled one apart as of yet post pics of your build im going to put my drives on a Expresscraft 60" MTI using rear exhaust RCMK K30 s from holding he drives upto the boat it going to look sweet hope to get in the 60mph range anything above will just be iceing on the cake

Would love to run a scale outboard MHZ has averry nice lower leg based on there Z drive the draw back is the ex hange rates and on the shipping i still love to run my K&B outboards one on my tunnel and the other is on a cat i would love to see a lower unit built for a rear exhaust RCMK this would be a great class to come back

what type of tubing are you using for the pulse line? water line wont work it you need somthing like automotive vacume hose it will deliver a stronger pulse to the pumps also rember at speed the water pressure will overcome the water pumps and its a straight feed the only time water pumps do anything is when boat is at idle or going slow hope this helps with the water isue whats up with cables and gearbox engine sounds great

i have the same hull i ran speedmaster hardware get the 6" rudder and a strut it will work great the hulls are a bit on the heavy side also most of his hulls came with 6" wide stringers so you will need to make up the difference for the new engine mounts all are made to fit 5" stringers just a heads up i now have a scale merc s6 drive on the back of mine have stuck my pro mod 30cc homelite back in for now my zen drank some water wnd well lets the only thing that was left are the engine mounts not one of my best days at the pond im going to replace it with a rcmk k 30 stock as im not going for all out speed with my boat im more into scale looks good luck with your refit

check for vaportrails on ebay think he sells alot on there build looks good Tom how did you determine the drive hight im doing a similar build but i was going to have centerline of prop shafts level with bottom of the hull (65" Apache) your seem to be lower is that because of the stepped hull thanks

nitro will soften fiberglass i had a tc 31 that i had to repair because the glass under the fuel tank and engine got soft no hole fuel tank leaked but as stated if when you said never used then the new buyer filled tank and the fuel tank leaked a knowen problem with the proboats
