RE: Why Is 3D Hated?
This thread can probably go on for a whole year. Bottom line is the people that hate it can't do or understand it. 3D is no more dangerous or annoying than a guy flying in circles and this thread has proved it. If you can fly 3D and do it well you have the ability to fly any aircraft. You know how and when to use all control surfaces and thats something the majority of the pilots on here complaining don't know how to use. Any pilot can fly the pattern and do a loop or roll, but having the ability to do true 3D or even hang on the prop is what the haters can't do. That's the true reason it's hated and most all of us know it.

RE: Why Is 3D Hated?
Not sure how 3D bores or is hated by anyone. If watching a plane fly in circles and doing a loop or barrel roll excites you maybe you need a younger wife. [:D] JUST KIDDING, what ever type of flying keeps you happy go for it. At least you are supporting this hobby. Im grateful I am not like some of you. I like all types of flying and planes. I can sit and watch a new guy learning on a trainer, a scale war bird doing it's flyby, to a guy doing pattern or 3D and enjoy every minute of all of them. I enjoy RC planes no matter what plane it is. Reading some of these post makes me love my field even more and thankful I don't have guys at my field with attitudes like some of you on here. Don't have the drama some of you guys are putting up with.

RE: Deadly Celebrations
Most people who celebrate around here with firearms usually use something like birdshot. The ones I know of anyway. Im sure there are others who use the heavier caliber bullets who are not thinking when they are shooting. I know they are the ones everyone is worried about.

RE: Deadly Celebrations
What about Hunters who shoot up in the air to kill doves, geese, squirrels, etc. Should they not hunt because they are firing in the air? Isnt that just as dangerous as celebrating shooting your firearm in the air? I have nothing against hunting or celebrating with firearms, just seems the same to me.

RE: What do ugly women and ARF's have in common?
They both are great, If you crash your ARF go buy another, If you lose your ugly woman just go find another. BAHAHA, REALLY, A big box of sticks looks more like a ugly woman to me. Look at how much work you have to do for her to look pretty compared to some of the ARF that are pretty right out of the box. I like my women just like my ARFs, Beautiful and easy.. [8D]

RE: ARF's ruined my hobby
You shouldnt let ARF's ruin your hobby. It's as simple as don't buy one. Just build your own and so what if it's not straight or pretty as a ARF. Take pride in that you built it. I personally would not be in the hobby if it was not for ARF's and know several others that would not be either if they had to stick build. I have never had a problem with any ARF I bought. I also don't have the time to stick build with raising a kid and all of my other hobbies I am into. I love 3D flying. It's like the Rock n Roll of RC flying. All of the new young people I see think it is just the coolest thing. They would much rather see me tearing up the sky with 3D instead of slow poking and doing a couple of rolls or loops. Once you can do 3D flying you will think the same. [:D]

RE: Lanier Extra 330 94" ARF
ultra coat Flame red for the covering. Look in the front of the owners manuel and it will show you the covering colors. Love this plane. Have a zdz super 80 on it and flys and hovers great. Been flying it for a year now. Just keep a check on the leading edges the covering tends to want to peel back. Manufacturer did not overlap it enough.

RE: Lanier 94" Extra 330
Flew mine for the first time Sunday. I also replaced the wheels. I also epoxied the screw latches and dowels on the hatch. The dowls came off on my first flight. Luckily I found them in my plane. Add some epoxy to the cowl screw latches also. I have a 3w 75ius on mine and it has plenty of power. I only had to add 2 clicks of left aileron for trim on the first flight and it flew straight as an arrow. I havent tried any major 3D as of now since the engine is still new and only been started and ran this weekend. But roles, loops, and knife edges are great. Planes weight is right at 20lbs

Thanks, For some reason the manual I have for it does not explain fuel line setup or any other setup. It could be that I am missing some pages not sure. Thanks for the help.

RE: Lanier Extra 330 94" ARF
I decided to by this plane since it was such a great deal. This will be my first Gas plane. I think I will go with the DA or ZDZ engine since I hear such good things about them. I will decide that later. What servos are you guys using on the ailerons, rudder, and elevator? Does the torque have to be 100 or more even when using two servos on each? I will be using a Futaba radio. Thanks

RE: The fastest engine for a viper 500
If you want to go really fast go with a Jett 50. I have a OS 50sx with tower muffler on mine. Its doing around 110mph maybe a little faster im guessing. I also went with the 6oz slim fuel tank from Jett.

I know this is kind of late to respond on what my problem was. But for anyone who may still be interested it was my receiver causing my flight problem. It had a glitch. Put in a new one and now the Viper is perfect and very fast.

Vertical grimmace, that is exactly what it was doing. It looked like it would jump up and down. I may not have had enough foam around my receiver. Though I did send the receiver off today just to be tested. I will check the CG again also. I have a 50sx on my Viper. When I get my receiver back I will wrap it in more foam just to make sure. Thanks for everyones help. RCHAD

Viper 500 flight problem
I am having a problem with my GP Viper 500 at high speed. It is very unstable. It will fly in a straight line hands off the controls and all of a sudden jump around like it just flew into a gust of wind. The v tail is aligned with the wing and the cg is correct. I have not had the problem at low speed. The V tail seems to flex could this be a problem? Do you think the recever could be getting vibration at high speed and causing this? I have read other threads and cannot find any other vipers having this problem. Any suggestions will be helpful. Thanks...
