RE: JR9303 Gear to Brake Mix Help
You should be able to do a Gear to Aux3 mix and then at the right bottom hand of the screen put the gear switch to position 1 and that sould deactivate the brake when the gear is retracted. For your future builds down the road you can get the Mini hobbies brake valve all you do is Y connect it with the retract valve and it shut off automatically when the gear is retracted and it is servoless.
ORIGINAL: smchale So you are using a up2 instead of a up3? To be scale The doors should be open when the gear is down.
That might be true but I don't want that nose door to remain open as Im doing my gear pass and then all the way through the landing. I'm also not trying to win no scale award Im just enjoying a very nice stable flying jet. I also don't have the Sabrina's on her maybe will put them on later but not sure if I will.

She really flew really nice and rock stable once trimmed. As for the nose door no it is still on and the only time I notice the nose door was when I extended the gear for a second but the door then closes and all was fine. Here is a link of some video you might have to copy and paste it. http://youtu.be/j6MDJqm_eW0 As for the o-rings Im happy you received them.

Well I finally test flew the Hawker Hunter. I had to give her quite a bit of down elevator and a few clicks of right airleron and then she flew great. On landing she floated forever before I finally was able to get her down. Now its time to get ready for Kentucky Jets. [:D]
ORIGINAL: quist The last Hunter in the US arrived at my house yesterday. Much large then I expected. I like the paint work, I like that it is weather but not over done. This kit was missing the pylons for the drop tanks and the glass seam is splitting on the nose. The owner will contact his rep today. There is great value in this jet. $3500 is a great deal for all that is included.
Sorry to hear about the crack I had some minor issues with mine but nothing major. I'm sure who ever is your rep he will be able to help you. As for mine the test flight might have to wait even longer due to the weather rain and windy on the east coast of Florida[>:]

For the time being if anyone would like a Hunter we will have more in stock by the end of July on this side of the World.
ORIGINAL: smchale That's good news Jose, slightly lighter than mine. I've balanced mine with a full CAT and empty tanks. It is an odd thought to think the only time the plane will actually be in balance is if you run the thing out of fuel. [8|] Looking fwd to hearing/seeing your results.
I know that seems crazy but maybe ripmax took that into consideration when they came up with the cg at 55mm from the hatch opening. I have a pilot figure on the way and should get it by Wednesday and I plan to test fly it next weekend and then I will post up pictures and results.

RE: Hawker Hunter 1/6th scale ARF from Flying Legends
ORIGINAL: smchale Jose, what is your AUW and how much extra weight was required to achieve your balance?
My AUW for the Hunter is 29.8lbs call it 30lbs I guess thats with the UAT full. Now the scary part to me is that to obtain the recomended CG I did not have to add any weight. Now with that being said I do have all of my equipment up front in the cocpit area I also have 2 3200 life and a 2s 3000 all the way up in the nose. I used Kirk advise to get my CG on the wing and I inverted the plane with the gear in the down position. I figured it will be nose heavy once fueled and at about 12oz per min and 155oz of fuel I should get an easy 8 to 9 min flight and still have over 35oz of fuel left in the center tank making me nose heavy for landing.

Sounds good I will be using a Super Eagle in mine so 30lbs of thrust should be plenty and then someI figured I would be also looking at a 10 minute flight with plenty for goarounds if needed but I will start with a 8 min test flight.

Damn your smart Kirk easy solution. I guess after working all day and then build till the late night I just stop thinking for solutions. Now I have to decide if I want to drive 2 1/2 hours to go to Markham park to test fly or just drive an hour to St. Lucie for my test flight. I also still need a pilot maybe I will hit the toy store to find one. I hate paying $100.00 for a pilot that I will have to cut up to make him fit.

NIce Job Kirk looks great. I would like to ask are you guys using the recomened CG which is 55mm behind the hatch and is so how are you guys lifting to cg because I dont have any where to grab at 55m mm as the tanks are in the way. Once I cg and get a pilot I will be ready for my test flight then again who needs a pilot just CG and test flight.[:D] Also for all who ask for orings they were sent out on Thursday.

I have to thank Kirk for the tip about the oring. I went to and purchase some 324 orings and they work great but I did have to buy 50 of them and all I needed was 4 so if any one needs some orings please let me know and I could put them in an envelope with a stamp and send them to you free of charge. Also as I am finally finishing this bird to get her ready for Kentucky Jets I just dont know where to place the three batteries that I will be using. I planned on putting them up in the nose but I can't seem to fit 2 3200 life and 1 2s 4000 lipo for the ecu. any pics would be helpful.

I just weighed it and it comes in at 19.5 pounds that the empty weight of the airframe nothing installed no landing gear ext. The Length is 95 inches with a wiing span of 97 1/2 inches. I would imagine once you instal all the equipment landing gear servos turbine ect. that a Rhino at 36lbs would be a good choice for a power plant.

RE: So you think your EDF is safer than a turbine
Going back to the safety between electrics and turbine. I feel that electrics are just as dangerous if not more and I am not just talking about Jets. I have personally seen so many electric Jets, Airplanes and Heli catch on fire some with batteries and plenty with ESC issues. In matter of fact I have seen more fires with electrics than Turbine in the past few years. Just look back at how many castles esc when up in flames this past year. I myself lost a habu foamy 2yrs ago at FL Jets that when an E-flite esc went bad on me causing the Habu to crash in the middle of the runway making a pretty good fire. Let’s remember that not everybody is buying top notch batteries and ESC's. I personally carry a fire extinguisher whether I'm flying EDF or Turbine

RE: Jet for Super Bee or K 80
ORIGINAL: Jprice57 This is frustrating!! Several options out there but i can't make up my mind. The boomerangs have what i want as far as transportability (would be nice to fit it in the car and leave the trailer at home) but the Elan is the only one i like and at $500 more it loses most of that appeal. I do like the DV8R but i'm unsure if it will fit in my Jetta. The Nano is on sale but i see the wren44 as a waste of money as i probably won't buy another jet in that size. The Shok Jet is out of stock... Is there any thing else out there?
If you have the Bee you could put that in a Nano without any issue I have seen them fly with a P-60 and I have one that will fly on a old Ram-500. For the price you can't beat the nano.

If you like the twin booms go with the small Velox. Looks better than the Boomerang and unlike the Tornado the wings are removable without having to remove the booms. Also Its less expensive than a BVM Bobcat.
