RE: stabs
All I would like to know is... Does anyone here have a problem or reason not to balance the stabs???? ( Except having to add some nose weight ). I personally have balanced all my Flying Stabs from my first byron F-16, to all three Yellow F-18's that we built side by side.. Most of the Models in question have a very long nose, a little weight will go a long way... in MHO, Balance the damn stabs and be done with it... No more would of, could of, should of .. !!! My .2 cent's..... Danno

RE: Boomerang XL
ORIGINAL: Mark C I did buy the hardware kit from Patricia and it is nice, have bought (6) JR 8411 for the flying surfaces and am buying (3) JR 2721 for flaps and steering. I have also got the Jet-Tech fuel tank and had him make me and addition tank which is split in the middle and am going to use half for fuel and the other side for smoke fluid. Just need the retracts and turbine and I'm ready to go.
Sounds like you got dude !!! Same set-up as mine, but 8411's on elevators and 2721's every where else !!! You will have a ball with it !! Have fun, Danno[:)]

RE: Boomerang XL
ORIGINAL: highhorse Both have good reputations for reliability and support. I would hands down rather have the a 160 than 120 tho. More $$ initially but its a more versatile motor since it's more thrust and the same weight...u can use it in a wider variety of airframes later. Complaring the 160 to a Rhino, then, is a bit like a Ford/Chevy debate. Good arguments for either side. Perhaps one brand is more prevalent than the other in your area, and if so I'd go with that brand since ur flying buds will have helpful experience.
Well I guess that means i'm flying Chrysler.... My AMT Pegusus works great in the XL !!!!! My advise is buy the hardware kit from Boomerang !!!! It's a no brainer with it, takes all the work out of control surface set-up, Good stuff !!!!, Download the BVM Crow program for Kingcat fom his website.. 85 - 90 degrees flaps no problem. 127 oz Kavlar fuel cell fom Dreamworks and you are DONE !!!! From box to take-off... one week !!! Danno

RE: HONEYWELL 2000W GENERATOR @ HOME DEPOT
Guys, In all honesty, Generators are not needed near like the used to.. Most all the flying sites have power for R.V.'s and plenty of plugs in the pit area.. I had to use Generators 2 weeks a go in Breckenridge, Tx. because it was at a full scale airport, and the first year for for an R.C. event... Other than that it has been several years since Generators were the only option for me... Can't please all the people all the time !!! I've noticed where generators was the only power, the people who refuse to invest in their own Generator are the first ones to come over and ask if they can plug in !!! If I got room, of course they can !!!! But don't tongue lash us for having and useing our equipment.. My .02 cents worth.... Danno

RE: HONEYWELL 2000W GENERATOR @ HOME DEPOT
ORIGINAL: AndyAndrews
ORIGINAL: KXH121 Does anyone still have one of these for sale? Thanks in advance for reply.
nope my car battery works just fine thank you. Doesn't need gas, is quiet and smaller. I can charge batteries, run power tools and I don't have to hear that annoying motor all damn day at the rally.
You might want to be careful charging from your car... Look at district X Report in the back of the November Model Aviation magazine.... NOW THATS A FIRE !!!!!!
