Wireless camera and main battery.
I just got my wireless camera for my models, but securing a PP9 battery along with the other RC stuff will be a pain, and i will need to change it often. Is there ever any kind of feedback or surges between a battery and ESC? I want to connect the camera to my main batteries, but I don't want to burn out my camera from dumping any current through it or a fluctuating voltage.

RE: we need a chatroom!
As long as it's OK with Marc and the ther RCU dudes, I can run a chatroom for RCU on my sever, once I get it co-located. I can't guarentee anything yet, but I would be wiling to put the time into it. There may be problems if it got massivly big, but I will look into that if it ever happens.

RE: Nitro hovercraft
I have one tip to offer from experiance - 6mm MDF DOES NOT make a good material for a prototype. It did work, but very slowley. It could have partly been the engine was revving to about 6000 instead of 12000.

RE: The horror of blimps
[:D] reminds me of a helium baloon we had years ago. It had started to deflate, and was neutrally bouyant, or however you spell it. Every time somone walked past it, it would follow them around the house. It allways followed my dad most though. You wanna try coming out of the loo and there is this round yellow baloon floating there with a massive smiley face on it, just at head height.

RE: The worlds first Nitro Hairdryer!
for cutting the engine and controlling the speed, put a collar around the cylinder that covers the exhaust. put a slot in the metal so u turn it one way and it restricts the exhaust, slowing it and turn it the other way to speed it up again.

RE: I should have stayed home
move to a diesel. just flick the prop and go. well, tuning the compression for each run makes extra work, but a diesel with an inflight charger means that you will have no probs with batteries except the tx.

[&:]If you dont want to use it, dont. If you do, its there when you want a quick answer. I dont think a chatroom would make the site more popular, if i had a site this big, i wouldnt care if no one new registered, so its not a member-attracting feature. Anyway, its not like AOL. It will be disabled with out a fight and will be un-installed without re-installing its self first. I se benifits, I see dis-advantages in this type of system. I like my 3D desktop, some don't like them. Some people like windows, I don't. [&:]

RE: RCU chat!!
msn messener - anyone can add you to the contacts list and viruses spread easily. plus a messenger optimised for a specific user group, us bandwidth sucking RC guys would be great as who on this forum would go around causing trouble.. the peoplethat stay here are the people that like RC. they would not want to be banned or suspended. anyway, its not costing to make it, if you dont want to use it, you wont be forced to. i wont come and swap all your xtals over [>:][>:] so realyl whats to loose, apart from my time, but i see a value in this software for my site and the sites i host so really, no losses anywhere. oh and William, i dont mind you adding to the poll, its your job to do stuff like that.

RE: RCU chat!!
no need for constant moderation as the server casn easilyl filter out words andhave a database of equivelents, like 4 is a and 0 is o. that way, when a moderatos isnt arround, the system can just auto boot users or ban, depending on the ammount and severity of bad chat. i am working on how to best use the server setup of rcu to maximise speed and efficancy of the system. one server could be the sever and the other could handle the auto boot and banning.

RE: RCU chat!!
instead of a suscribed service, what about only if you have a cirtain ammount of posts on the forum and have a warning level. with it probably being connected to the forum database, its not too hard to do that. as i am doing it for free, development time is not really a barrier, just means that it will take longer to do, but if it is a huge flop, wont be any cost to rcu.
