RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C. Part 2.
Sweet deal and the extra rotational inertia of the badlands wreaks havoc on drivetrain parts you need to be careful with them... that could've done it... they are a ton of fun to drive tho, for the shock rebuild kits idk if the ext's are the same as the st's but you really only need the seals which are 1.79 per tower IF i remember right those are the only parts that really wear...

RE: Any idea why this is happening?
ORIGINAL: phmaximus Firstly the areial on 2.4ghz systems are shorter & they dont have to come out of the body. have a sus of this ive got this printed next to my chargers... cant go wrong. This is for each cell, for 2s times it by 2, 3s times it by 3, etc ive done the 1s & 2s cart for u 4.20v-100% 4.03v-76% 3.86v-52% 3.83v-42% 3.79v-30% 3.70v-11% 3.60v- Dead flat 2s 8.40v-100% 8.06v-76% 7.72v-52% 7.66v-42% 7.56v-30% 7.40v-11% 7.20v- Dead flat as u can see Your battery is dead flat at a dangerous level, dont even attempt to use it or u wont be able to charge it with ur charger. If u get a lipo to flat 99% of the chargers out there wont charge it because it can catch fire.... (there is ways to fix a very flat lipo, ive done it heaps of time but lets get the basics down pat first) Normally a red light means charging, & green means good to go
THIS IS SO EXTREMELY WRONG I DON"T KNOW WHAT TO SAY.... lipo's don't go above 4.2 volts per cell and don't go below 3.0v per cell if you're running a 2s or 3s pack i'd set it around 3.1 or 3.2v per cell soo that means for a 2s pack it'd be 6.2 or 6.4v and for a 3s pack it'd be 9.3 or 9.9 v cut off 7.2v is far from dead flat most lipo's will discharge consistantly at 7.2 volts due to voltage sag... it's a little low for a fresh pack but near the end of it's life... 7.2 volts per PERFECTLY safe the lug

the evader BL tranny will just drop right in, you'll also need the ext spec CVD's or the ext steel idler is also a good choice the lug

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C. Part 2.
nope you'd need the ext spec diff driveline pretty much the only thing thats the same from the tranny is the motor plate and even thats a little different... but they'll still bolt up.... so after parts and such and if you sell off the BL system for around $100 you'll pretty much end up getting a roller for $150 and the tranny parts would run you $70ish alone... the lug

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C. Part 2.
it depends on what you're running on it's easiest to get some new rims to go with them, i'm not sure how soft the new rims on the BL are but in the past evader rims have been rather brittle, i run proline rims for the T4 and they work great. again tires are dependant on what you run, check out proline they're my usual go to for tires the lug

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
ORIGINAL: bambambndt Couldnt seem to get my picture to upload.
ORIGINAL: bambambndt I know I have been asking lots of questions, that will taper off...I promise...lol.  One more before then.  So, tonight I was goofing around and jumping the storm.  I rolled it and the double sided tape holding the esc came loose.  The wire you see below (going to the receiver) broke.  Does anyone have any idea on how to remove the board from the enclosure?  I was hoping to repair the damage in lieu of replacing the esc.  I am thinking, now that I removed part of the enclosure, hpi may not honor any type of warranty or perform an repair work for me.  Any thoughts on how to remove?  As always, thanks again. <img alt=''IMG_20120311_210742.jpg'' src=''https://mail.google.com/mail/ca/?ui=2&ik=8332cef12d&view=att&th=13604ad797ff9e77&attid=0.1&disp=thd&realattid=1396198145015152640-1&zw'' />

i would call them and see what they say before sending it in, i believe a refurbished SW is $35 if not under warenty, though they'll take it in pretty much any condition so if they say you'll need to pay, i'll pull off the sticker and you should see some tabs that hold the case together, you can pop these apart and should be able to open them up, then use a very fine tipped soldering pen and a steady hand... the lug

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C. Part 2.
pull off the spur and slipper arrangement, around the slipper pin you'll find a ring that you can just pull off, then you'll have to get a pair of needle nose pliers on the pin, you'll want to off set them, with one part on the pin, the other half of the jaws on the shaft, and then push down, then pull the rest of the pin out. then open up the diff case and it should just pop right out, feel free to post up pics if you get stuck the lug

i've baked on motor that i had for 2 years but it was over geared and i was running it really hard, so thats user error, and another one i got used that ran HOT no matter what i did the windings came apart... picked up a castle more go, runs smoother and all around a better motor... the lug

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
ORIGINAL: bambambndt Recently bought my son a Firestorm 10HT for Christmas.  I was tired of asking him to use it so I went out and bought the 10T Flux.  First RC since my Associated RC10 back in the 80's.  After running through countless brushed motors, we decided to upgrade him to the Castle Sidewinder SCT combo with the Neu-Castle 1410 3800 kv motor.  Read through hundreds of posts before purchasing and knew about the heat issues.  I have since placed the fan over the ESC and never have any issues with overheating.  However, it is still fairly cool and the 100+ Texas summers are right around the corner.  I have a question for you guys that have the Sidewinder...what size pinion seems to work best?  I am not looking for loads of torque or any sort of speed record.  Just want the motor/esc to run efficient.  Right now, we both have the stock 19t pinion.  I read some have changed to a Spur from the Blitz, not really interested in doing that, would like to stick with the stock Spur. Sorry to be long winded, but one more question.....talked to Castle and was informed my 2s lipos are not sufficient, Venom 2s 7.4V, 20C, 5000mAh.  He added that Castle's minimum battery spec is 4,500 mah or higher, 30c or higher and 20c batteries are bad news for these systems.  So....what batteries have you guys had luck with?  Would like to stick with 2S since my son's Sidewinder recommends sticking with 2s.  I can run 3s on the 10T Flux but would like to be able to interchange our battery collection. Thanks in advance, I have been reading this forum over the last month and picked up lots of great info/advice. Nitro Rob.....really liked your carbon fiber build.
you should be good with the 20c's you are pushing the batteries i ran a 20c for a while with no issues on my 4600 system, (it was 5000mha as well) i have some 4000mha's that are 40c's and are a lot more powerful, but for a light 2wd stadium truck i wouldn't worry about it... unless your battery is getting hot 120+*f i wouldn't worry or you just want more umph... for gearing i'd start with a 17 or 18t pinion to be safe and go from there the lug

the shocks are interchangeable, but if you do the towers (which you don't have to unless you want more adaptability and easier access to the diffs), you'll have to do everything...
ORIGINAL: Trek1771 If they do not have the stock HPI part and you dont want to order it and wait, I would see if they have the Traxxas ESC used on the Stampede VXL.  The Traxxas is Waterproof.  The only issue would be that you would have to have the connectors on the Traxxas ESC switched to Deans plugs or have the connectors on the car and your batteries switched to Traxxas plugs.  I would switch the car and the batteries to traxxas plugs, because it opens up the availablity of alot more options in batteries.  I switched My HPI ESC to a Traxxas battery plug and it is great!
