RE: Most Blatant
My head hurts after reading this crap. I got caught up in this stuff awhile back and decided I just don't care to be involved. Personally I see no difference between the HK lovers and the ones hell bent on hunting them down. I'm having way to much fun flying maybe you all might want to check that part of the hobby out. I buy from anyone who has what I need. Mike

http://www.parkrcmodels.com/ Although I got mine from EJF it seems like they no longer carry the line. Park RC has them. I've picked up a few items from them and their pretty good with fast shipping. Mike

RE: Heli stuff and fellowship
Same stuff been swamped with side work then the LHS put me on full time (I just got home ) to handle the flying crowd and work on their inventory control.. That's s really cut into my field time. I'm actually thinking of picking up the new 250 Align just released to have something to fly around the house. Otherwise all is great. Nice to be back catching up with you all. Mike .

RE: Heli stuff and fellowship
Been out of the loop for awhile very busy on my end. Why the heck RCU will not fix issues with the site is beyond me. I don't even get thread updates anymore and gave up updating with photos. Hope you all are doing well. I got to play with the DX18 for a bit till the guy picked it up. Seems pretty nice from what I got to see. Mike

RE: E Flight F-86 Sabre
You'll need to disable the the BEC in the ESC. Pulling the red wire on the ESC plug will do that. Normally I just use a 3inch extension with the red wire cut. Other wise you flight pack would be installed as usual. First turn on the flight pack then pull in your LiPo. Mike

RE: Club Locations Aero Fields
The AMA has no" rules" per say as far as site location and layout only recommendations. Flying over houses is never a good idea. I would look to get as far out as possible. No sense putting effort and money into something that won't be around long due to expansion. Mike

This is actually pretty tame compared to most threads. Short of the laser vs die cutting it's be pretty much on topic ( which by the way is topic related). Mike

RE: best way to train new pilots
I agree with the OP. We have guys show up all the time with the T-28 and Apprentice. We check out the bird and fly them. Personalty I would rather teach on a electric than glow. Quick , clean, no messing around just flight time for the student. Isn't that the reason behind instructing to get stick time? Most guys who start out with electrics seem to stick with them. If they go glow or gas down the road it's no big deal by that time they normally have a grasp of the whole picture anyway. Mike

RE: Alcohol and your AMA chartered flying club
Here's a interesting thought. What about all the people taking prescription drugs that clearly states on the bottle they they might " impair" their ability to operate equipment? Which by the way is mentioned in the same rule as alcohol. How do we handle that one? The same guy who'll yap and text while driving will hang the first guy at the field with a beer. Who's to say what impaired is? I'm willing to bet the pill poppers outnumber the beer drinkers at any field any day. Mike
ORIGINAL: MattyWhite This is a GREAT thread! I'm I welcome here? I want to have new RC Heli. Can I have any suggestion from you guys before I buy new one? Thanks
Lets take this from square one. A little more information would be helpful. Simple things first. Do you have any helicopter experience? Do you have a set dollar amount to spend? What radio are you using? Do you own a simulator? Mike

RE: Heli stuff and fellowship
Yep, Weird. We had a club meeting Monday night at our "inside flying warehouse". 9 members showed ( the die hard flyers). Normally we have 25+ show but the snow keep them home. 1st time in club history snow on meeting day. Weathers improving just cold. Should be back flying by the weekend. Mike

RE: Heli stuff and fellowship
Same with our bunch someone upgrades and someone gets a good deal on a used radio ( which is normally a step up for them). As for me. I've been very happy with the DX7 but really need the extra channels for some of my planks and EDF's so I'm open for suggestions. The only stipulation being it must be a JR or Spektrum I'm not replacing 20+ receivers. I did use the "Snow day" to finish a 500 build for a customer and work on the Seahawk. It's finally ready for a bit of serious testing now. Mike

RE: Heli stuff and fellowship
I understand that the 9303 has been discontinued for the 9503. Depending on the price they make me will determine which way I go. Guess I need to look at the 11X as another option. Thanks Mike

Freaking snowed here last night. Crap. The LHS wants to make me a deal on a 9303 I liked the radio and just might do it. Mike
