r/c warships! real fighting!
I think it would be pretty cool to have little bombs to drop from a plane as per your plan, so I'm not coming down on you, but I think it's against the law to drop anything explosive from a personal plane, even RC, but hey what's the chance of getting caught if your careful. It sure would suck but be dramatic, to have one go off in your plane.

need a tip on balsa filler
Heck I got a jar I bought about seven years ago. I put water in a few times but its still good. How about if you take it out of the original jar and put it in something like an old jar from peanut butter, it might seal better.

Lite Stick
Looks like a pretty clean set up to me. I see no reason why it shouldnt fly. I like the velcro Idea, I do that with all my planes that way you can always move the battery to change the CG

Airboat
Dumas use to make a Big Swamp Buggy, I'm not sure if they still do. I had one its about 36 inhes long, It has a prop guard made from ply that goes aroung the prop. You could come up with some kind of shroud like from a electric fan to house the prop so no one could get there fingers in it, and it wouldnt hurt the performance much at all

boat shaft angle
As far as I know on most boats the shaft should be as straight as possible wheather its surface drive or sub drive. If it comes out of the transom at a downward angle, the prop will tend to lift the back of the boat. making the bow want to nose down, which will make the boat impossible to come up on plane.
