RE: Importing and exporting RC gas engines products
My Local Hobby Shop, RC Hobbies, is one of the best in the entire South. For a town our size, 250K, we are very, very fortunate to have a well stocked LHS with great service. Returns, no problem, motor blows up, no problem, plus they have the knowledge & expertise to explain & to repair in store. Their prices are the same as Tower Hobbies & you don't have to wait! I always buy from RC Hobbies, even if it costs a few dollars more, because I want them to stay in business & make a good living. You get what you pay for. I have bought the China stuff & it causes mostly aggravation & crashes. No service, no warranty, forget about sending it back! I would rather pay 25% more for an engine from Captmicom (SV, AZ) , Valley View or BP Hobbies because I know they are going to service or warranty it if I have any problems. If we all supported our US dealers, a lot of time & money would be saved in the long run.

RE: *** Ultra Sport Brotherhood ***
Mine keep bending also! I have tried coils, they help a little, increased size to 3/16, but they still bend. Now the set screws in the Robart mechanical retracts are stripping; drilled & tapped for #6. My US 120 size with a ST S-2300, pump (Vp-30) & Perry carb is heavy!! Cahnge fuel tank out 3 times, getting smaller, now down to about 14 oz, I love the plane & how it flies, but it surely is Heavy, weights 13#.s!!!

RE: *** Ultra Sport Brotherhood ***
Retracts?, I got a 120 ol kit, weight 12 .5 lbs, (heavy) that's in Auburn Colors, Orange & Blue, about wore out tho, I have a heck of a time keeping the landing gear legs (wires) straight; have increased size twice. I belly land it in the grass most of the time. Got a ST 2000 on it, pump & Perry carb, screams like a banshie, I love it, got another yellow & blue, with a OS 160 , it really honks

You have to use a resistor type spark plug, otherwise it will flutter like crazy!

RE: Seagull Yak?
I fly down at Houston some, at Geo Bush with Bayou City RC,so I know what you mean when it comes to wind!! Put those nylon bolts in & go with bigger air inflated wheels! Carbon fiber gear takes out the bounce on asphalt/pavement, makes it stick better. I did away with the two piece slide in gear, took out the outter fuse balsa & put in a solid balsa block with screws and #6 blind nuts. I got Super Tigre 90's in two Yak's. The Carl Goldberg Great Planes (CGGP) ones are heavier built & heavier than the Seagulls. Got a SV 26 gas in one 67" Yak that has 77" wings (839 in sq, versus 1139sq in). That makes it a very different flyer!!

RE: Seagull Yak?
The Seagull Yak are pretty light built, watch for vibration shaking something a loose! How about the landing gear? Better make it break away! Carbon fiber is the way to go. They fly good, you'll like it.

I have had a couple of them, good flyers, beef up the landing gear blocks first, use nylon screw! Put a 30 in it or a ST 200 -2300

RE: Goldberg 67
I have a question..I have several Carl Goldberg Great Planes 67" Yaks, bought 6, 3 yrs ago, when Tower discontinued them. Have 2 flying with Super Tigre 90's in them and they fly very well. Not enough power for extreme 3D, but the I'm not in to that. I changed the landing gear out to Carbon fiber, which reduces landing bounce (makes 'em stick) & attached with break away nylon # 6 screws which saves the plane on dead sticks. My question is: Has anybody ever taken the wings from the next model size up, GP made a 77" 81" wing span model, and put on the 67" fuse? The reason I ask is that I recently bought what I thought was a 67" CG GP Yak at the Perry swap meet. Got it home & started building it & the wings have two servo holes each; unlike the wings I have. After measuring, I figured out the guy had the wings off the bigger Yak on the smaller Yak!! He repositioned the mounting holes, etc & it looks good!! BUT, where's the Center of Gravity ???? The smaller Yak calls for 4 1/2 to 5 1/2", The larger calls for 6" 1/4. Looks like the guy had a 2 cycle on it (it had stand outs attached) so I put a SV 26 gasser on it. With the two 4.8 v bats up front & a 12 oz empty tank (rudder servo is in standard place in fuse, throttle servo on left (Not moved) forward, it balances about on the wing tube or about 5 3/4" to 6" back from the LE at the fuse. Does this sound right? Would like ya'll input before I maiden it.

RE: Do ARF's Belong in Warbirds?
Cute, I like it and totaly agree!!
ORIGINAL: LDM Its really simple , considering we are all adults and appear to be all men , I will keep this clean and prove that its really not even a discussion that is needed . If the all guys in this thread were out having some beers , we see 5 good looking women . All drop dead knowkouts , assume for the sake of this post we are all single and they all have interest in us . Unfortunitly three out of the five women are surgically enhanced into goddess like figures and two are natural yet they are all women by the pure definition of a women in great appearance. So recapping for those of you that take the little yellow bus to RCU , 5 women , all good looking , all have interest in me and my 4 buddies , 3 enhanced (in essence ARFs) and 2 natural (kit build) but all women ..... would it matter ? If its a warbird , and its an arf , the subject of warbird is the first topic , the reason for posting is the second (ex-bash , tweek , problem ) and the fact that its an arf is thrid
